Armoured cars enter national park in seventh day of manhunt for Dezi Freeman begins

Bulletproof Bearcat armoured police vehicles were seen entering Mount Buffalo National Park overnight as the hunt for accused cop killer Dezi Freeman enters its seventh day in regional Victoria.”

I was starting to wonder whether Freeman was even in the bush but this news suggests police believe he’s still holed up somewhere in or around Mount Buffalo and they still have a full force tactical op going on. They won’t stop and his stress levels must be volcanic by now.
Seven days in the bush, hunted, armed, and cornered by armoured vehicles and aerial surveillance. That’s psychological implosion territory.

Meanwhile, Freeman's nephew, Luke, described Mount Buffalo as Freeman's "holy place".
"He's always told me if he wanted to be dead and buried somewhere, it's going to be on Mount Buffalo," he said.

Officers return to property of alleged shooting

Officers are inspecting the property on which Dezi Freeman and his family were living.

Two armoured vehicles, known as bearcats, arrived at the rural farm perched beneath Mount Buffalo about an hour ago.

Officers are currently inspecting the bus where Freeman is accused of shooting dead the two detectives, Neal Thompson and Vadim de Waart.

It’s a steep, narrow drive to get to the property where locals say several people were living in a commune-style arrangement.

Those living with Freeman were forced to leave the property, which has been abandoned since the fugitive escaped into the bushland.

Going back thru what some of his friends in Porepunkah have commented, that he seemed a bit more silent, a bit less responsive, a bit more down, an episode of quiet anxiety , leading up to the days of this event, perhaps it was because he knew what was eventually going to come knocking on his door, that someone he thought he had bamboozled into silence, now there will be angry police with a gruesome , horrid summons on a frightful revolting accusation .. this would tend to shut Dez up for a while, I bet....

"A sign lauding accused cop killer Dezi Freeman was brandished at yesterday's anti-immigration protest in Adelaide, sparking concern in the federal government.
The sign, held up by an unknown protester, showed an image of Freeman with the caption "FREE MAN" underneath, with the words separated by a stylised Southern Cross."

Seems that the general belief among police is, Dez is being assisted ,, by someone, and those someone's need to think things thru, as this is a very very serious crime in and of itself, harbouring a fugitive.

Khan cant say if it 's one person, or some people, Information police have indicates that people KNOW where he is..

The general belief is that he is out there, being assisted, alive and kitted up still with all his weaponry..

Yeah it’s definitely possible. Given how already we’ve seen a report in the media where somebody had a similar anti-authority view it wouldn’t be a stretch to say there’s other sovcit-type people out there harbouring DF.

The police know who was holding that sign of Filby, and they are looking for the person.

Police are "actively" searching for a man who was seen at an anti-immigration rally in Adelaide holding a sign depicting alleged killer and wanted man Dezi Freeman.

SA Police Acting Commissioner Linda Williams strongly condemned the placard, describing it as "offensive", "disgraceful" and "outrageous".

She said police believed they had identified the man in question and were still attempting to locate him. They are now investigating whether the placard breached the law.

"Families would no doubt have seen this image and would be likely distraught by what they have seen."

Police have called on anyone who is harbouring fugitive Dezi Freeman to come forward and contact police.

Speaking outside the Benalla Police Station on Monday, [Superintendent] Kahan said anyone who is helping Freeman evade police are comitting [sic] a crime, and urged them to ring triple zero.

“You are committing an extremely serious crime by harbouring or assisting in the escape of Dezi Freeman,” he said.

“People know the whereabouts of the person who’s killed two cops. People have chosen, for whatever reason, not to come forward, and I’m taking this time to appeal to you to come forward in that respect.”

Speaking but not cooperating: Police on Freeman’s wife

By

On Sunday, Mali Freeman, urged her husband Dezi to surrender and anyone harbouring him to come forward to the police. However, Superintendent Kahan has called into question the level of cooperation Freeman’s wife has afforded police.

“In respect to the suspect’s wife, what I’ll say, [is] it’s two different things to be speaking with police and cooperating [with police],” he said.

“What I can say, the outpouring of assistance from the local community has been simply remarkable in respect to those that know Dezi.”

From the Police update just now - a reporter asked some thing about if Mali Freeman was being helpful, or something along those lines, and Superintendent Brett Kahan’s answered this twice, and was that “I might say that speaking and co-operating are 2 different things!”

Is that all he spoke of in the presser? It is all I could see. Superintendent Brett Kahan stating that anyone who is harboring Filby should contact the police and they will formulate a surrender plan.

ETA: Judging by the above posts, I missed a lot of it.

I find it hard to get my head around people helping him. Regardless of your feelings of LE or all the Sov Cit stuff, this is a man the murdered two people. I just find it crazy
