Offering a public reward for verified intel could be more cost effective, and efficient all round. I wonder if they’ll post a reward in the lead up to the first funeral on Friday.

A reward definitely would be more efficient, we’d hope one would bring someone forward. I wonder if the people that know where he’s hiding are family who would never give him up, for money or fear or for being brainwashed by DF/all of the above.

I agree that it sounds more likely that he has a psychosocial disability - I work as a mental health practitioner and I can see signs of him being a paranoid schizophrenic and possibly delusional disorder. If he has been prescribed medication for any psych conditions, there's a high likelihood that he has recently stopped the meds or just hasn't been taking them at all for a long time. A lot of my clients don't believe they need their medication.

Hypothetically, if someone is hiding him - why would they give him up now? They've already committed a very serious offence, maybe a decade in jail for punishment.

I'd go so far as to propose that Dez would reject any diagnosis that put him in a corner where he might be hearing imaginary voices, Dez couldn't stand that denigration of his powers of perspicacity, his firm belief in his own super shrewdness. If he was scripted medication they would have to lie to him, and tell him its for his bones or something. Dez believes only he is able to see round those corners, you see.

It's his illness burdened with his delusions of grandeur that have got him where he is today!!!

For what its worth, the US seems to have generally tightened up. Anecdotally, I know several people who have been declined.

The one person I know who relatively recently managed to obtain a disability payment was only given a token amount after years of appeals.

Yikes, he was granted his payments 20 years ago (maybe in a more lenient period?). If so, Australia seems similar to the US. Grants were easier to obtain in the past here. Likewise, in the US, once a disability has been accepted, its legally and administratively very difficult to retract it.

A woman who heard two Victoria Police officers gunned down in an 'ambush', sparking a manhunt for Dezi Freeman, has revealed police are yet to speak with her.

The neighbour - who wished to remain anonymous because of her friendship with Freeman's wife Amalia - told Daily Mail that police closed off her street at Porepunkah in Victoria's High Country several times to question Freeman's associates.

Yes, I had thought the same, but as far as I have seen, they haven't used any language to convey that.

So far it's just been this or similar to this:

This is frightening for the poor people he may encounter.
