Possible Kyron Sightings

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I wasn't quoting you, tho, I realize with the way I had that group of words in quotations that is exactly how it looked.. sorry:blushing:

I was rather just giving an opposite point of the same subject and just used your post as a jumping off point...
Sorry for the way my goofy use of punctuation made it seem that...

LOL...No worries SmoothO.

This is going to sound weird, but were they interested in alpacas?

I just don't think I can go too much further with this.

Sans details, reverse engineer you're line of thinking. Kind of like checking your math, proofing your answers. Sometimes the best way to solve a logical impasse is to work backwards.

I've posted a lot of stuff here already, and from everything I've seen, the details don't matter. It was a tiny obscure little event that as I've said before would be the perfect place to hide in plain sight. Not dark, but like a movie theatre, where everyone is engrossed in something else.

If there were 100 people there over the two days, I'd be amazed. Maybe 150. None of whom were likely to have seen the news that day either. Not until later in the day.

If LE (or a nosy friend/relative) was investigating too close to where Kyron was stashed, it would have been the perfect place to move him for a short period of time, which is all these folks were there for.

I don't see any relevance other than that.

Googling Estacada and the date I see multiple mentions of a horse auction that weekend.

oh great! <sarcasm:treadmill:

How is it that in two threads the idea of horses come back into play (vandalism thread as well)

I feel like mouse in one of those balls!

Horses, horses, horses...are they important in this case?

Sorry for the o/t rant

Now that you have mentioned it, I saw that too. It was held at a farm...don't know what all is farmed there but definitely Christmas Trees. I didn't want to say anything that might spook our new friend. That is what prompted me to ask if one of them looked like DD because it seemed like something she would be interested in or maybe those close to her may have an interest in. Purely speculation though.

Joseph Duncan took little Shasta to Denny's. Denny's! Which even had her missing poster on the wall.

Yes ! I wa just thinking about this... I think Duncan stated that he brought her there deliberately, that he was a good guy because he didn't kill her... But, he's such a lying piece of....trash. IIRC, another woman saw Shasta and Duncan at some kind of convenience store. She said that the little girl came and made eye contact with her for a long while. As though she was trying to get her to help... Too sad....

Duncan had to go get food and beverages at some point. A couple who had Kyron would not have had that problem.Just that one of them would always have stayed with him...

All JMO

When did they search the "horse farm in Banks"? That was the first weekend, wasn't it? I wish we knew (1) WHY Kaine wanted them to search there, exactly and (2) Why LE was receptive to taking "requests" like that in the first place, which just seems odd.

a little o/t here but I believe it was in this thread, someone heard a possible sighting on the police scanner...i've listened to that scanner, is it really live or does it loop? i swear I listened to it fell asleep and then awoke to hear a repeat. just wondering. sorry for being o/t

I don't know quite what sort of event you're talking about - but I assume it wasn't something you needed a ticket/invite or had to sign in to enter? If it was, the police should be able to figure out who was there - or at least whether anyone was there who wasn't supposed to be.

Just putting this out there IF Kyron were "stashed" with SOMEONE(S) IMO Terri has ZERO contact or communication with the SOMEONE(S) that has him.. It just is absolutely NOT possible...IMO

Remember the "Sabrina" abduction, the 8-9month old baby abducted from her bed, in the middle of the night, door left wide open, Florida, and to this day never found, nor anyone ever charged with anything associated...
The reason I bring it up is their home WAS EVEN BUGGED (as LE has always thought they were responsible)..
So, I'd think it quite possible that LE has done quite similarly with Terri.. So, she's surveilled 24/7 IMO and all communications also being surveilled(lol. don't even think thats a word.. oh well u get the point).. I mean even if she was using good ol' "snail mail" that it was somehow being watched, also. for sure it could be subponeaed... I don't know. I don't know what to think or believe at this point, but am almost certain that if Terri were to have had ANY contact or communications with SOMEONE(S) that with what all LE is putting into this investigation , that LE would definitely know of such contact or communications....JMO

As I said am just putting this out there. Am not responding or referring to any one post in general just more so about likelyhood(or UNlikelyhood) of their being contact and communication

I wouldn't rule out contact. TH may have had one or more throwaway phones, she could have left coded messages on facebook or other web sites, she could have left hidden notes at the gym or other places she visited - or she could have had a friend pass along a message.

TH watches CSI, etc - she should have an idea on how police monitor folks, and how to get around that.

There's been quite a few sighting on the scanner. One time there were two in one day! But they haven't panned out. The scanner we listen to is live.

The best place to discuss the scanner and ask questions is in the Scanner Forum since we aren't allowed to quote here, just link. :)

But yes, there have been a few sightings reported during the course of Kyron's disappearance.

I called two weeks after I saw him. I think. It was well after the first press conference with all 4 of them. That press conference was when my wheels started churning that there were too many parents involved for my assumptions to be true. I think it was several days after that I called, on a Saturday.

I forget how long it took for LE to get back to me. I would look it up.... but this is one of those areas I'm nervous about giving too much detail. More than 3 days, less than a week. I think. I know I had gotten to the point where I figured my tip was useless, and I didn't expect to hear back. Then they called. And a few days later again, and a few days later, again. All in late June I'd say.

This is part of my problem, I keep assuming my tip is meaningless, so things I could have remembered, I kind of... let go, and then it comes up again. I didn't want to write down to much, because I figured LE would have more expertise in interviewing me than me trying to do it myself, and I was very afraid of corrupting my memories, so I was trying just to replay the experience in my head, and not be too specific, to enhance my recall more than any specific memory.

You called two weeks after you saw him?????????????? Oh man no wonder you are stressed out.

Ya, well, my initial reaction was, "nah, couldn't be", pretty much the general consensus here too. It really doesn't add up. Until the family did a presser I had no reason to assume one of the parents could be with him the day AFTER his disappearance, or that there were 4 parents involved.

Considering most folks here still think there's no way I saw him... I guess it's a normal response.

FWIW, the event was come and go as you please. Anyone could have wandered in. That's as far as I'm going for right now, save any good arguments that I'm being overly cautious. :)

Tipsters in Kyron case wonder if they’re being heard
KATU Story Updated: Aug 5, 2010 at 1:43 AM PDT

Even two months after Kyron’s disappearance, five to 10 calls come into the tip line every hour but some tipsters like Joanna Robbins say no one ever called her back to follow up.

snip

On June 4, the day Kyron disappeared from his elementary school in Portland, Robbins said she saw a boy who matched Kyron’s description at a McDonalds in Goldendale, Wash., about 90 miles away as the crow flies.

“I remember he had on a hat. I remember he had on glasses, he had freckles. His teeth looked like Kyron’s,” she said.

So 120 - 240 tips per day? That could take a while to get through calling all of them back. Could there even be that many credible leads? I'm shocked that that many still come in.

I've pretty much heard all along, since the beginning that people are feeling like their tips are not being followed up on. I wonder if this is true.
I mean, LE can follow up tips without letting the tipster know the results right?

I would think their top priority is not to take time to call tipsters back and let them know what they found while following up on a tip.

I really hope they are checking EVERY tip. It would be a shame if they aren't.

I think that if you really think you see Kyron, you should call 911, not the tip line. While you are seeing him.

(not responding to the poster here who called in a tip-just in general.)

I imagine the tip line is just flooded with calls of people who saw a little boy with glasses. I live in ABQ and don't even get out much due to health issues, yet twice in the past two weeks when at the library, I saw Kyron look-a-likes. One was even reading a book about nature. I hovered a bit until someone called his name (not Kyron) and he responded normally and left with his mother.

I'm just saying that there are so many little boys with crew cuts and glasses and they all look a little bit like Kyron. I just do not believe that Kyron would be out and about with his "captors." I know it has happened before, but this little boy's face is familiar now in so many places, much more so than cases even a few years ago, thanks to FB, etc.

"While others don’t fit what investigators already know"

Snipped by me from the article previously posted about tips. That statement concerns me....could that also mean what they THINK they know? I don't think that anything in this case is standard and sometimes things may not fit, but are still possible. If it were me, I would think most anything other than alien abduction should be considered.

I know it is typical to have sightings in these kind of cases, but I am curious what the average is and where this case falls. I so hope and pray that DY's gut is right.

Here is a good excerpt on what is going on with LE on their end, regarding the tip information flowthrough.

McCain says he’s glad the tip line is working so well because it has gotten so many. But tipsters say one improvement could be a recording or e-mail telling them what to expect.

“Just to confirm that your tip was looked into so that you don’t just sit here wondering if you really saw him or not and if they really looked into it or if they just passed over it,” said Robbins.

According to the sheriff’s office, just because calls aren’t returned doesn’t mean they’re ignored. Each tip is logged, entered into a computer, cataloged and prioritized. Some calls are duplicates and others have already been ruled out. While others don’t fit what investigators already know.

As for Robbins’ sighting in Goldendale: “In one way I hope it was him because he was alive and well and happy and in the other way, I hope it wasn’t him because if it was he could be anywhere by now,” she said.

The sheriff’s office says all tips are saved so if one doesn’t match now, a computer will catch it if there’s another like it later.

There are tips the sheriff’s office says it doesn’t want, however.

Those are people who say they got a tip and to call them back but leave no specifics. Also, the sheriff’s office doesn’t want people to call and give their opinion, ramble about their gut feelings or want a personal update from detectives.
