Possible lead in Susan Powell case, 8-18-11

It's so quiet.

I want to see Josh sitting in an uncomfortable chair in a tiny room without his daddy.

I want to hear him babbling on and on with all of his lies until he talks himself right into prison.

I want to see Josh's face when he finally realizes that God knows exactly what he did...every lie, every manipulation, every evil action.

I want to see him realize that he will burn in hell if he takes these lies to his grave.

Someone needs to put the fear of God in that boy.

I think that's just what they're doing.

Look how they scheduled it:
Friday - big media presence, lots of publicity
Saturday - still searching, obviously less media

If I were Josh, I'd be wondering what was going on right now. Where are they searching, and why?

I've been thinking he may have poisoned her at dinner. She felt ill and went to lie down, and he took the boys sledding thinking she'd be dead when he got back. She either had passed by then or completely out. However, she'd thrown up on the living room carpet (wet spot). If he did buy shrink wrap, he wrapped her up (which would have smothered her if she was breathing) and put her in the back of the van under blankets & "camping stuff." He hid her while the boys were asleep, then either moved her with the rental car or went back to make sure he'd done a good job hiding her.

What a sicko! Poor, poor Susan and boys. :( He needs to be caught, NOW.

Ha. Yeah. But he has "so many churches" behind him now, so surely God is on his side! (Yes, he really had the nerve to tell the camera how he has soooo many churches and people from those churches supporting him!)

The way JP is acting makes me wonder if he planted something in that area.

I think he's right, in some respects. It's the more religious people who are saying things like "We can't judge him".
Look how his neighbors (ward members) stepped up to help him move.

Now, there are groups on the SL Trib forums, condemning anyone who says anything against Josh OR standing up for peoples' rights to make statements. I say "they" because I recognize some as the more religious folks over there - and not just one religion, either.

There really hasn't been much of a backlash against him. Even the people she worked with, haven't said much.

....and maybe it's because they've been told not to talk?

:woohoo:

Exactly right. They have something tying him to that area, they've asked him about it, and he won't talk.

Until yesterday.

The more I think about it, the more I believe they're using psychology against him.

The interview with Josh and his Father yesterday was a little bizarre. I have only loosely followed Susan's case, so I don't know all the nuances, but is Josh always so ... struggling for a description, weird on camera?

His Father thinks Susan ran away with SK? :waitasec: Is that for real?

What do you think?

Long time follower of these posts here...just haven't posted much.

It occurred to me after re-watching that interview, that I hope the new info from the warrant isn't the rental car, and that JP didn't rent that car and then purposely go in the opposite direction from where he put Susan. If there was dirt found in tires that matches this area, I hope it's from the mini-van he was driving that night.

That said, I don't believe JP to be either rational or intelligent, so he may indeed have take the rental car back to where he put her, to make sure she was really dead and properly hidden. Unless, of course, he'd already talked to Papa about it all and Papa instructed him to try to throw LE off the trail by taking the rental in another direction. Just speculating.

I wouldn't be at all surprised though, if they have already found something and are trying to pressure Josh to do something (else) really stupid.

They have something that ties him to that area, and it's from an early search warrant. They took his computer(s), the car, the rental car and did two searches of the home -- and that's what's been stated publicly.

Listen to what LE's been saying, and it sounds like they've even tried to ask him about it - and he won't talk. Yesterday, he started talking.

If he had placed a body, and later moved it, he'd more likely continue on in the same direction ... much further. That'd be Ely, Nevada. On US-50, a road that's famous for having little traffic.

A bit of computer research, and he'd have known just where to go.

Well, I guess I will have a lot of 'splainin to do with my maker one day, because I have judged this man many times over! I'll worry about the consequences later. :innocent:

Another interesting thing I picked up from Josh's newest interviews... "Frankly, quite frankly, well frankly" ... Who do we know that uses that speech when he is lying? Yup. Baez.

Yup. It's like when someone says "To tell the truth...."

Are we allowed to post links to youtube? I just watched this interview, 'Update on Missing Mother From Utah Susan Powell'. Between 1:30 and 1:40 the news report shows video of the Powell's residence. Two panels of the front bay window are broken out and covered with cardboard. Could these have been broken during a scuffle? Was this brought up before?

LE broke glass, to get into the home, after Susan's mother reported her missing.

Sgt. Powell answered a question of whether Josh Powell (not related to the sergeant) had ever visited Ely by saying he did not know if Powell has ever visited Ely.

http://www.elynews.com/articles/2011/08/19/news/news10.txt

The sergeant attributed the scant information to a court-ordered "secrecy order" and invited members of the media to join him and four police detectives on several searches in areas outside of town.

He said investigators chose to "utilize the media" in order to let people know the case is still an active investigation.

BLM spokesman Chris Hanefeld warned reporters about the many mine shafts, both documented and undocumented.

He also warned of rattlesnakes and live wires in the area.

The logic escapes me completely... :banghead:

Thank you everyone for the updates! I am working from home today but staying signed in and checking in periodically. I appreciate each and every one of my WS family.

Susan and her family are in my heart and mind today. LE too! I sure hope there is a method to this madness!!!

Oh don't you worry, Josh's father has a reason for that too! :waitasec:

http://abcnews.go.com/US/break-missing-mom-susan-powell-case/story?id=14333638

Steven Powell also spoke to the Tribune, saying that the curious wet spot found by police on the carpet in his son and daughter-in-laws home after her disappearance was from a clean-up that Susan Powell had done on a red stain that he said was "probably juice or something."

That's a statement that's going to bite Josh in the butt.

Did she not go to bed?
Why was she cleaning carpet?
"Probably juice.." (said by someone a thousand miles away)

It would have been better if Josh had said HE cleaned up a spill.

I think it's all very logical.

They've already said they had developed information, from a previous search warrant. Something ties Josh (or even Susan) to that specific area.

They don't owe us any explanations, until this case goes to court.

Same here.

The "shouldn't judge" thing only means "then you can be judged". That's fine with me, and I'm sure it's fine with you. Go ahead and judge us, and in return, we get to judge Josh Powell's actions
Judgement is what we use, to decide whether our actions are right or not -- whether it's a choice of unmatched socks or deciding to harm another person.

It's the person without judgement, that I fear ... and not for their socks ;)

Thank you for reminding me about the fan on the wet carpet spot. Let me rephrase an earlier post:

Are we to believe that 2 toddlers are taken camping at midnight in a snowstorm, and then coincidentally, on the very same night, mom runs off and changes her identity, leaving her kids forever--but first she spot cleans the carpet ?
__________________

Don't forget that he left once before, that night: to take the kids sledding. At 6:30pm when it's dark?
It's obvious why he got the kids out of the house: he knew what was likely to happen to Susan, and didn't want to watch.

He comes back, it's all over. He cleans the carpet and wraps her up.
Puts her in the car, but sets off the car alarm. (Damn! That sets a timeline)

Miraculous Susan, then:
Leaves in the dark.
Doesn't have a car.
On a Sunday night.
Without public transportation or a cab.
Doesn't pack any clothing.
Doesn't take any cash, her phone, her purse.
Doesn't call a friend or neighbor, to get a ride.
And she's already gone to bed, sick.

Don't get me started on the "other guy" thing.

Has the stain ever been identified? Seems like it should have been, ages ago.

I always ? when someone includes the words "honestly" or "to be perfectly honest" or "truthfully"..anything along those lines...

I don't think it was her mother, was it? All the way in Puyallup? I thought it was the boys' day care provider. She was there on the scene when the officer broke in. Hmm. I can't remember. Maybe the babysitter called Susan't mom who called police?

I think this is all about letting JP know that the cops are actively still working the case. THey do not want JP to relax, they want him stressed out. There may not be anything there but they do know that JP was in that area once.

LE wants to show JP "Look we will climb into a mine, with a possibility of rattle snake dens awaiting us just to locate Susan and Close this case.

That was the purpose of the press, they knew they would go interview him, get a statement etc.
