Possible lead in Susan Powell case, 8-18-11

Same here.

The "shouldn't judge" thing only means "then you can be judged". That's fine with me, and I'm sure it's fine with you. Go ahead and judge us, and in return, we get to judge Josh Powell's actions
Judgement is what we use, to decide whether our actions are right or not -- whether it's a choice of unmatched socks or deciding to harm another person.

It's the person without judgement, that I fear ... and not for their socks ;)

I agree with this 100%. If we were never allowed to judge, evil people would never be locked up and nobody would be safe.

Has the stain ever been identified? Seems like it should have been, ages ago.

I always ? when someone includes the words "honestly" or "to be perfectly honest" or "truthfully"..anything along those lines...

A piece of carpet was cut out and sent for testing.
Results unknown.

It's just one piece of the puzzle.

If I was going to leave my children and my husband to "abscond" to Brazil with a lover, the very LAST think I would even consider would be spot cleaning the rug. Really?? She had a final jolt of domesticity before abandoning her family. Uh-huh.

Haven't posted much on this thread, but I am just fascinated by this case now. I watched the clip of JP -- good Lord. I think he is very -- strange.

I don't think it was her mother, was it? All the way in Puyallup? I thought it was the boys' day care provider. She was there on the scene when the officer broke in. Hmm. I can't remember. Maybe the babysitter called Susan't mom who called police?

You're right.
It was either Josh's mother or sister Susan Graves.

"her father, Chuck Cox, says police found the wet spot on the living room floor when they first broke into Powell's house to see if the family was OK. Two fans were blowing on the spot.
Cox says he heard about it from a family member that was with police when they broke in."

Source: KSL.com, Dec 14th, 2009.

(I confuse the mothers, since Susan's mother lives near Josh's father, and Josh's mother lives in the SLC area.)

What's the FIRST thing you'd take with you, if you were going to Brazil?

Passport. Everything else is gettable, even if you have to beg.

If I may, the scripture does not say not to judge. It says, if you are going to say that what someone else is doing is wrong then you will be judged by the same standard. If you don’t want your life to be scrutinized, then don’t judge others. If you can stand the scrutiny then go ahead.

... indicates deception!

Someone on WS posted a link to a man who analyzes words and phrases. I read some of his hypothesis and was very impressed. He went over the Ramsey kidnap note, Jeff MacDonald's police report, Casey Anthony's lies and several other cases. He seemed spot on to me.

I've thought about the use of those words, too. I have never, ever used them in any conversation. Either I don't have anything to hide or I just don't use terminology like that. It was just something about myself that I found curious.

I wonder about that stain...
In the case of Michele Harris, the only physical evidence was a small amount of blood which looked to have been cleaned up...she has never been found...her husband claimed she "ran off" to start a new life (without her four kids...)
Eventually he was convicted (twice) of her murder. This was in upstate NY, where I am from and my family knew his family all of our lives. A very rich family (his, not hers.)
So it can be done...but they did need that little bit of blood in the house, and garage too, if I remember correctly.

(PS-not meaning to say we were rich, lol...just that the Harris family was THE rich family in town and it was shocking that LE not only dared to try him but they they won the convictions...)

to add: a LARGE piece of carpet--like half the room!--according to a witness who "helped" him move out.

A passport. Steven Kocher's is here and accounted for. Not sure if Susan had one, and if she did, where it is.

You nailed it twizzlrgirl! The 'P' men aren't reasoning like a woman. They are giving elaborate scenarios/theories which is just not beleivable to me as a woman. I mean no disrespect to our WS goodguys but men and women are hardwired to think differently. The whole camping story is ludicrous to me.

I lived in a miserable marriage which took years to escape because I was afraid. Spot cleaning the carpet was the LAST thing on my mind when I finally fled. (with my children, btw)

MOO wm

Of course.
If she had one, it'd have been listed as "left behind" with her other ID.

Oh, wait!
On the night that Susan suddenly decided to run away, she simply went to "All-Night Fake Passport and ID Service", and then got money from the payday loan store next door. Silly me.

Oooohhhhh....good info. I missed that.

That's basically what I said, without a scriptural quote.
We all have different beliefs ... or maybe even none.

But the moral code is still there.

JP thinks he's smarter than everyone else- I wouldn't be surprised if there was evidence in one of those mines that suggests Susan was with Steven Koecher. And I also think that might be exactly what LE was waiting for.
It reminds me of the photo on his website early on that showed the family in front of a fire in the snow.

BBM.
Really? Why do you believe that Susan Powell left with Steven Koecher?

ETA:
My apologies, Sono. I evidently misread your intent.
It's been pointed out to me, that you were indicating a "plant" by the Powells.
Not sure what it would be, but I understand what you're saying, now.

We hear it a lot, yet no one's ever able to show logical evidence.
What I heard from WVC PD, is that the search has nothing to do with Steven Koecher.
What can you tell us?

I suspect she is suggesting Josh himself planted it after the fact.
