Possible lead in Susan Powell case, 8-18-11

I'm not sure I'm following this post. I understand not being able to judge someone, but 1+2 does not equal 2 and therefore I don't understand what obviously has occurred. Maybe I just need to take a break.

1+1= 2 and what was done to Susan is "obvious" just as this mathematical calculation is obvious. Susan did not walk out of that house alone to disappear into the night .

I understood that you didn't just throw them "in the dirty laundry" with everything else (which is what Steven Powell is saying).
A co-worker, who I travelled with, washed hers nightly in the sink - after I'd taken my shower, and I had to promise not to open the shower stall until she'd retrieved them (dry) the next morning.

She said I couldn't see them and we couldn't mix our laundry, because I'd not gone through the temple.
I honored that. It didn't bother me.

In the Steven Powell home, Susan and Josh would have been the only ones to wear such garments, so wouldn't it be a problem if they were mixed in with other stuff?

There is no doubt in my mind that he didn't snoop and find them wherever they were and take(steal) them without her knowledge...creep that he is...:sick: I can just imagine what he does with them..those poor children of Susan's bless their hearts.

One more thing, I bet Susan had a good idea what happened to them! No wonder she had to get out of that house...

This family is a real piece of work. Susan didn't have a chance. Keep squirming JP & SP. I think something has hit close to home, and they just can't keep their pieholes shut.

Did Josh ever give an excuse for why he rented a car and drove wherever? I cant find anything about if he was questioned about that or any statements? Anyone know?

I don't believe an explanation was ever provided in the public domain.

If he went straight from home, and never went to "pony express", yes, he could have driven that direction. But the weather would be about the same. US-93 is about the same elevation and is as hilly, as the terrain in Tooele County.
Yes, US-93 bypasses. But are you really going to take a dead body onto a freeway with lots of traffic...or do you go down deserted roads, where there's little traffic? There's really few places to hide a body along I-80. It's busy 24/7.

I've been down all those routes, and know I'd have gone down US-6 to Delta and over US-50. Very little traffic (I last drove in, in January).

My primary belief in a US-50 route (rather than US-93) is due to the search at "Ward". It's several miles south of Ely, on US-50. It's not something he'd pass, if he'd come from the north (US-93). Both areas searched, were on US-50, which is part of the "pony express" route in from Utah.

My scenario is based on him saying where he'd been. I think that was an "excited utterance" to Chris Jones, and the wheels were spinning to get him out of it. So he came up with "smores".
Remember, if he went to "pony express" the first time and was going to move the body, he'd have to go back that way to get it, and move it again.

Sounds very reasonable to me.

I have to remove myself for a little while. The total ridiculousness ( is that a word) and lack of empathy from the Powells are driving me to think terrible thoughts. They are total fools and if they have a lawyer I cannot believe they are listening to his advice.

On second thought wonder why sister was making that statement??? I hope I hope Josh and Steve have been escorted to an interview room by the FBI who will not pay for their attorneys!

We don't even know exactly what date(s) he had the rental. Supposedly, "two days after Susan disappeared"...but what does that mean?

Two days from when JoVonna left the house, evening of Dec 6th?
Two days from when Susan didn't show up for work (morning of Dec 7th)
Two days from when Josh returned without her (evening of Dec 7th)

Now if you were a loving husband who actually wanted his wife to be found wouldn't you be putting up fliers in every beauty supply? I hate how he turned her "love of beauty supplies" into a backhanded dig.

The more I read on this case the more disgusted I become. I just hope and pray that the search this past week brought the searchers the evidence they require to lock that dude up for life. Then if we could put a muzzle on his father...I for one, would be a much happier camper. SP completely disgusts me. I actually got horrid and I do mean horrid chills listening to those songs. I seriously made it through only two.

Considering Josh's proactive claim of LE setting him up with planted evidence in Ely, there just might be something in Ely.

I don't think such things should be reported just to get headlines. Obviously, the KUTV people have heard those things. But they didn't include it in their story.

Those kinds of details are exactly what trip up witnesses.

I'm just sayin'...I think Susan's side should be better than this. Let Steven Powell besmirch Susan, and it'll splash back on him. Don't play tit-for-tat. It won't help.

I agree. If these friends would work with LE to release this info that would be best. Obviously the Powell's cages are getting rattled and I really feel the more information out there about them the more they will talk because their ego's feel the need to defend themselves and in the process make them look so much worse.

JP apparently left shortly after JoVonna did...and SP wasn't there, then.
Neighbor saw him return.
Other neighbor heard the car alarm go off in the garage, about 12:00am - and looked outside.

Cell phone calls would tell the tale....and triangulate, too.
Whatever the connection is, I'm guessing a few days later.
Rental car time....when he should have been at home, waiting for his runaway wife to come crawling back to him.
