I wanted to mention it is nice of the mods to let us have this thread upstairs where we can work together while we are trying to piece together what is fact from fiction given that Hardy is talking out of both sides of his mouth. I feel the posts on this thread are geared towards finding the truth behind what is happening in this case regardless of everything else. It is awesome.

Does anyone in LE at this point have solid credibility? Maybe the reporters should be tracking down the FBI agent who took over the case and let him have a go at it!!

I don't like to be lied to especially by LE. It says a lot about the department as a whole for them to openly lie regardless of the circumstances. Like a poster said earlier, "No Comment" should have been all that was said instead of making things up.

They have the area roped off so JQP or the media could not hamper their efforts and it is a non-issue if there are 9,000 or more people over a mile away trying to get the real story.

ETA: They obviously let a camera crew in earlier or we would not have the video of them walking the pond. Are they playing favorites with media outlets? How did they get the exclusive right to tape them searching?

I think frustration is coming from the fact that they didn't just say, "no comment", or something similar. That, everyone understands, but once you cross the line of outright lying, it puts into question LE's credibility... IMHO, of course

The larger problem is when this goes to trial (if it ever goes to trial)...will the public all of the sudden forget the BS shoved down their throats by LE? They have insulted JQP's intelligence in this case time after time. How will this play to a jury eventually? Will they believe anything that LE has to offer or to say about the person they believe is responsible?

It would have been nice to inform the families on both sides, but no they heard rumors and stuff on the internet and phones calls and LE lied to Marie as of yesterday saying there was no connection to the search with Haleigh. Mrs. Sykes had to go to the site herself to find out what's going on and was treated badly.That is unacceptable that is no way to treat family of a missing child.

She went to the press about her complaints I hope they put her interview on the news later tonight.

Just MOO,but they could have skirted the issue without flat out lying.It makes them unbelievable when they make a future comments. I mean,everyone who believes it's just a coincidence that they spent UP TO Friday afternoon interviewing Misty's in-laws,and that evening they started to search the pond,raise your hand.
They damaged their ability to be believed and all they had to do was say "we can't/won't comment right now" or put up road blocks and seal off the area. LE does it all the time.
It was poor judgement IMO.

The thread was created and named by the OP yesterday, 07:43 PM prior to LE confirming that this was a search for Haleigh.

It is my understanding that the only people that can change the titles to threads are the mods on WS (admin, or owner) and the OP.

Early on LE was not confirming that the search was relating to Haleigh so post starter might have put that so no-one got extra nervous. Rumors first coming out are to be posted in the rumor thread but I for one like the atmosphere up here. So thank you moderators!

This is all correct, when PJ's started this thread, we have no LE confirmation or media articles to go on as fact, so it was rumor, but a magnitude of rumor, making it more about credibility versus rumor.
Then within thirty minutes of starting the thread, all heck broke loose and we began to get real confirmation. Not from LE I want to add. I'm really disappointed in these two talking heads Bowling and John Q Public, though I appreciate their position and know it's importance, still it went overboard with lies too deceptive befitting a professional LE agency.

I have been chasing twitter sites and keeping track of the news sites, but today there is only more of the same confusing information. LE appear to be chasing their tails in media reports and the majority of facts are coming from John Q. Public.

It is frustrating since we really can't discuss what JQP is saying here. Ugh!

I think we know how to handle these two talking heads from Satsuma LE, whatever they say and release thru the media for the publics consumption, reverse it and believe the opposite and then we'll have the true correct facts of what's going on.

I seriously doubt that. They ran Grandma Sykes off last night and were extremely rude to her.

If this is true, shame on LE. In no way, no amount of circumstances is it appropriate to be rude to any of the family members of Haleigh. If we find this to be true, when this is all said and one, everyone can breathe, I will personally shoot an email describing my disdain in such treatment. We should always be on our very best concerning victims, willing to go the extra mile to be of service to them, their the ones LE is getting paid to help. I admire LE, but in this case, not so much. They need to keep treating the public like we're stupid. Just say we're not releasing information for proper reasons.

I'm thinking since we don't have the Croslins, Tommy or Lindsay his wife crying foul about the trumped up bail bond cost, obviously to keep him in protective custody, the reason is he has revealed Haleigh's whereabouts, evidentuary locations of evidence and when LE gets their hands on this evidence, and Haleigh, they don't need Ron committing another crime by going after him. Their awfully quiet to a fault about him still being in jail and over that bond amount. I think this is why.
