"They said they think search teams were frequently spotted on Sauvie Island because Kyron's been on several field trips there, and his family visits a pumpkin patch.

That includes a flier the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office released last week that shows pictures of Terri Horman and a pickup similar to one she was driving June 4. A questionnaire with the flier asks people if they saw Terri Horman or the truck at Skyline School that day. Investigators have said she was the last person to report seeing Kyron at school.

Kaine Horman said he fully supported the release of the questions and flier, saying they were another way to gather information about Kyron -- not something aimed at his wife.

Still, no one said they could imagine that a woman who has devoted so much of her life to children could have been involved in his disappearance.

"I would agree with that statement up until a point in time," said Kaine Horman, her 36-year-old estranged husband, who has filed for divorce and obtained a restraining order against her. "I know a lot of things now that I didn't before. Now, I think there is a huge problem. I don't know what she's not capable of at this point."

In 2005, she started going to the gym again, transforming her body into a mass of muscle to compete in a bodybuilding championship.

Kaine said he noticed a sharp shift in her behavior, saying she became self-centered and short-tempered.

"She's not eating a lot of food, she's exercising twice a day, she's up at 4 o'clock in the morning, she's not sleeping at night so we get just general irritable behavior towards everyone around her," he said.

He said she consumed over-the-counter stimulants, such as fat burners, in high doses. In four months between January and April, she shed 62 pounds, dropping from 185 to 123 pounds, he said.

I can't really comment necessarily on how Terri's coping with the situation but she's working as hard as we are to cooperate and work with investigators to help find him.

Kaine Horman

I don't think purposefully, but it was just apparent that the three of us were driving to find him and she was not.

There will be no comment from the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office regarding the information reported during the Horman/Young July 8, 2010 press conferences. The information released in during these conferences did NOT come from the Multnomah County Sheriff's Office.

From the WW:

"First came Horman’s “ground rules,” as he described them. No cameras. No recordings. Everything was off the record and couldn’t be reported, unless agreed otherwise. Horman made everyone in the room agree to these rules before proceeding. And so this roomful of reporters consented, in essence, not to be reporters. Horman then laid out how the meeting would go. They would take questions, make some phone calls (presumably to investigators, to find out what they could say in their answers), then return and make an on-the-record statement. But first, Horman wanted all the reporters he didn’t know to introduce themselves.
KEX radio, KATU, The Portland Tribune and “Inside Edition” all got the nod from Horman. But then came Shane Kavanaugh and Bryan Denson of The Oregonian.
Horman said the family didn’t like The Oregonian’s coverage and wanted them to leave. Horman said the daily had failed to be a “team player.”
“This is a team, and if we’re not going to play as a team, there’s no point in being here,” Horman said. “This is about Kyron.”
Denson objected, saying he’s new to the story and after 28 years in journalism he’s “a pretty good reporter.” But there was no arguing. The family wanted The O gone, and a woman who said she’s a manager at the church escorted them out. The biggest newspaper in the state had been eighty-sixed.
I introduced myself and said I’m with Willamette Week. Horman said the family has the same problem with WW. I agreed to leave. And so the paper with the second-biggest circulation in Oregon was also kicked out."

Question: What would you say to online websleuthers and bloggers?

Lt. Lindstrand: I would tell them to please, not be hurtful. Hurtful comments do not help in any way.

stmarysmead, I'm confused ... I thought this topic was for comments made, i.e. quotes.

I meant the specific quotes that seem odd or as if there is some hidden information. The quotes that leave us asking..."What does THAT mean?"

I'm seeing blurbs and snips from articles. Did you want to expand the topic a bit to include those too?

No, we will stick to specific quotes, list only.

Some are paraphrases...many linked to videos.

I intended for us to post comments that surprised, confused, or mystified us. But I may not have been "pure enough" in my own. LOL!

We seem to be posting pro and con...which is fine (and typical LOL!). But I think we have drifted from the surprising or mystifying comments...and I'm guilty too. Thanks for pointing that out.

Maybe we could just stay to comments that puzzle, shock or confuse us.

This thread is becoming identical to the one in existence already. so let's see if we can make it different in some way, or it will most likely be merged.
