the torturing pets sidebar @ :19 of 1:59 Juan says "if this is the chart that they are going to be using I've already established that the family of origin issue is involved"
Family of Origin may in fact be that Her parents and/or siblings were aware of her "poking" the cat and "slapping" the dog.

Just seems odd wording is used.

Now....I am wondering why none of Jodi's family has been subpoenaed by either side.

Ah, so it sounds like Juan is using ALV's continuum of violence and there's probably something in there about family of origin issues. He was trying to get in her abuse of animals and probably the abuse Jodi claims happened to her to ask why ALV doesn't think Jodi was abusive or could be abusive too.

I did chemo for 9 months, it was horrible. For a little over two years after I was finished with my treatments I could not sew because seeing a needle took me back to those nine months, seeing a needle brought back even the smell. I remember watching The Fugitive, with Harrison Ford, the scene where he’s in the hospital sewing up his side took me back, it brought back the smell, I was nauseous, I got a head ache. A few days ago I was talking with my neighbor who was told she has bone cancer, she was telling me about her Chemo treatments, even now after all these years I was taken right back to that time, the smell, the headaches, I became nauseous. I’ll never undstand how nurmi can say the murderer has PTSD. What a slap in the face to our Veterans, they are the ones who suffer from PTSD. This evil one is not a victim of anything!

I disagree with this. I don't watch Dr. Michael Stone's program, so I can't comment on it, but I think Arias is more evil than others. NOT because she's female, not because she was blonde or attractive, not because she shot him (which was proven to be last). It was the OVERKILL- killing him 3x over, slitting his throat and the number of stab wounds. She didn't shoot him in his sleep. She got him when he was the most vulnerable. And she is a stalker and arrogant, prolific liar, even when she is directly caught in a lie and challenged!!! This is why I and other females hate her. This is why she deserves the Death Penalty. And she doesn't quit! She continued and continues to torture her victim's family- by sending his grandmother flowers and attending his memorial, then assassinating his character.
And it's not paranoia, Jodi would've killed again had she not been arrested when she was. She was on her way with a gun and knives packed. That wasn't for a gold country camping trip... Mimi, Lisa, Deanna, the new girl mentioned Brooke, and the Hughes' are all lucky to be alive.

ITA with you, Linda.

Imo, Arias is not the typical murderer by a long shot. Some say women have made Arias into something she isn't and I take issue with that. Other women haven't made her into anything other than what she truly is. We haven't created anything when it comes to Arias. She and she alone has created all the facts from the moment she murdered Travis and right through this resentencing phase. She is what she is and its frightening to know psychopaths like Arias have actually walked among us leaving countless victims in their wake. Even the way she relishes in defaming Travis for years is not typical for a run of the mill murderer.

Your post brought something else to my mind though and now I cant get it out of my head.:D

I remember when Dr. DeMarte did the MPI evaluation on Arias she tested high on one particular part on the scale but for the life of me now, I cant remember what category it was. I recall it having something to do with deviancy or perversion maybe. I could have it all wrong though. I do know at the time we discussed it at length.

Juan never touched much on that particular highly elevated area though from what I can recall.

Do you or any of our other posters remember?

Thanks in advance to anyone that knows the answer.:)

I don't remember knowing about the PPL charge to her bank statement. Looks like $19.95 (probably a monthly recurring charge) and that got me thinking about why didn't Pre-Paid Legal step up and provide legal assistance to Jodi? She was not an employee or even a producer of major sales for PPL, merely just a consumer of their services for many months of paying $20. What service did she actually receive from PPL for representation? Gus Searcy wasn't even sure if he had legal representation while committing perjury and attempting to withhold evidence from the court. I recently (last July) a vehicle in Oregon with a big old PPL magnetic signage and a local phone number. I thought PPL was defunct and now called "Legal Shield" but they are still advertising PPL.

JA managed to get at least two pics with this executive...

http://www.nytimes.com/2014/11/21/business/harland-stonecipher-pre-paid-legal-services-founder-dies-at-76.html?_r=0[/URL]

"On its website, the American Bar Association summarized the usefulness of such plans: “With one phone call, your lawyer can draft a will for you, look over a purchase contract on a home, represent your teenager in traffic court, negotiate a ‘life contract’ for nursing home care, and even get you a divorce!”

Pre-Paid was sold for $650 million to MidOcean Partners, a private equity firm, in 2011, and renamed LegalShield. Mr. Stonecipher made $54.2 million on his own shares. His team continued to manage its operations.

Something I've never quite figured out is that it seems neither JA nor her family are exactly loaded with money, yet with JA there's always rental cars, going on trips, spending money at Starbucks, buying guns, etc. Oh and "loaning" money to Travis since he was penniless. (Yeah right.) Where does all this money come from? She never had much of any income to speak of as far as I can tell. Look at the conditions she was living in with her grandparents - it looked like a small room for a 10yo boy.

I think there was some info from her bank records in the original trial - maybe related to debit card usage; I don't recall. Are her parents richer than I realize? If not, was she getting all her money from sponging off one guy after another? Jeez - seems like it would have been several guys given her spending habits.

I know there is no proof of this, but possibly she was a web "streamer" since she loved the camera and wasn't afraid to pose in various positions. I would have loved to have seen her complete bank statements for the past few years (pre 2008) Just a thought since she was able to come up with money on the fly.

At approximately 22:20 you can read the MMPI scores. I don't have time to watch it right now but hope this helps.

Respectfully snipped to address the above.

I have seen the arguments on here, that Jodi hasn't killed anyone else and probably won't...we can't predict the future and can't punish her for something she may not do.

My husband and I were just talking about this and something occurred to me.

WHAT IF, Travis had lived. What if Jodi did all the planning, subterfuge and things had just worked out a little different. Suppose she lost the will once the blood started flowing, abbreviated her attack and left him for dead, but he somehow survived.

Once we got to court and heard from Travis about all the stalking, tire slashing, social media hijacking, etc., PLUS the "ATTEMPTED MURDER".....

Followed by Jodi and her "abuse"/self-defense/pedophilia accounts. What would a jury do?

Would they want Jodi to have the option of being released, to pick up her stalking obsessive behavior again, or would they want her behind bars FOREVER, to protect every young man out there?

I think, having seen the pattern throughout her life, they would have no choice, but to give Jodi LWOP.

Having said that, Travis didn't live.

Jodi Ann Arias deserves AT least more punishment, than she would have gotten, had her attempt on Alexander's life failed. MOO

In the original trial Geffner tried to refute DeMarte's rebuttal and build some credibility back for ALV and Samuels.

This time around Geffner is going first and DeMarte will be refuting him this time. (And I suspect she'll do a heck of a job of it.)

Juan will no doubt rip him in cross if he ever gets a chance, but he will really be able to use DeMarte to go after him a second time. Either in cross or with DeMarte I expect Juan will play back any snippets of trial testimony from Geff that contradicts his testimony this time, and I'm sure there is a fair amount.

I'd also love to see Juan ask DeMarte some questions like:
- Have you ever testified under an assumed name?
- Have people ever said nasty things to or about you when you were testifying?
- Do you come in with a script and make excuses for anything that doesn't fit it or do you just call them like you see them?
- Have you ever worked a case where 100% of the evidence exactly fit your side's story?
- If a question from the other side hurts your side's case, do you stall, refuse to answer, etc. or do you just give an honest answer?
- You are actually licensed to diagnose in Arizona, unlike any previous witnesses in this trial, correct?

All those things peck at the credibility of multiple defense witnesses and will get under the skin of the DT. It should be fun to watch when we get to that point. I would love to see Juan pour it on.

Yeah, she testified that she had a personal account and a "business" account. LOL

Harkening back to Geffner, JM may ask DeMarte:

1) If Nurmi plays the "inexperienced" card again: "Dr. DeMarte have you ever testified in a case in which the judge had your entire testimony stricken?"

2) If Nurmi gets Geffner to offer medical opinions again: "Dr. DeMarte are you qualified to offer medical opinions about how ambulatory TA would have been after being shot in the head, or that he wasn't "incapacitated" afterwards?
