Just saw these. I like the one where the judge tells the defense Laviolette is just digging herself deeper by volunteering information. And I'm still dying to know what happened in those chambers when she got in trouble. I suppose we will never know.

I'm pretty sure it was for approaching Travis' sister. But who knows for sure. I wonder if all of the secret chamber meetings and sidebar transcripts will ever really all be released?

That's very possible.

There's nothing wrong with the video I don't see how it could be offensive. I've been seeing Hitler reacts videos for years and years now and never considered it could be offensive because it's a scene from a movie about Hitler. It was funny! Oh well.

Thanks. I didn't see it as offensive either, but that's just me. I have viewed most of them as well, and have always enjoyed them. They remind me of Jib-Jab. LMAO. I guess a few of us laughed at it, so that's good.

I'm part Jewish myself, German descended, non practicing, mind you, and I honestly don't see what could possibly be offensive about it. This meme predates this trial by years. It's just a meme. But...ok.

I'm one of those who didn't say anything because I didn't want to create a big scene, but since I'm Jewish, I found it mildly amusing, but tacky. Hitler was long before Jodi's generation, so there's no way it would have ever taken place. Just as happy it's gone.

I am as well, though like MeeBee nonpracticing, and I found it amusing. I guess there's no one barometer of what's amusing or funny or not.

Well, I've been brought up that Hitler was a very taboo subject- the Holocaust museum and all...
Like I said, I found it mildly amusing. I can guarantee my parents and grandparents generations would not have.

Agreed, people do take things waay too seriously when it's obviously meant for humor or satire. Oh well

I guess I don't get this. What does the holocaust museum have to do with hitler being a taboo subject? Just curious

I was brought up with a lot of satire and tongue-in-cheek humor and other forms of word play, so not that much offends me beyond cruelty or wanton ignorance.

Let's get off the topic of Hitler because we are getting into discussions and it is very much off topic. There is a Sidebar thread for any of those who would like to chit chat.

Thanks, Lambchop

It wasn't posted to piss anyone off, so I am done with trying to be all apologetic about it. One "I'm sorry" per day is my limit. :shame: Have a good weekend MeeBee, I will be back Tuesday.

I have a question.

Do y'all think some of the "Jodi is the most evil killer ever, like ever" has anything to do with her being female, even partially?

Now before people jump on this and react, just please stop and think about it.

My working theory (which may or may not be a very good theory), is that female killers are often judged harsher especially by other women. Not that male killers get a pass (I'm not saying that at all), but the level of vitriol seems greater towards a woman who commits a brutal killing and especially if she kills a man. I'm separating out children as victims because that's a whole other category and any adult who kills a child will be hated equally, I would think.

I haven't found that. I remember Scott Peterson getting a good amout of vitriol, and from women.

I do think with attractive killers they tend to be judged more harshly by members of the same sex and less by members of he opposite sex. But it depends on the person. They just attract more attention. But I haven't seen any "Omg Jodi is like the worst killer ever." Posts. I don't think that way. Because a (non self defense) kill is a kill. Doesn't matter how, doesn't matter why, doesnt matter how many. If you kill someone in cold blood, you're all the same to me.

He killed his unborn baby and 8 month pregnant wife. Women and probably most men, hate baby killers.

Arias murders an adult male out of spite or revenge or...something. It's an intimate partner murder, which is not uncommon. The level of vitriol reminds me of the levels seen when a small child or baby is murdered. It's just an observation and I find it interesting.

There is another attractive killer man recently who I remember getting a ton of hate from women: Oscar Pistorius. He killed a woman. And in my opinion there are serious doubts for me about whether he killed her on purpose. But there is overwhelming hate for him. The majority of posters (although that's the majority here anyway) on that board were women, some men and yes they were very hard on him. Attractive male killer.

I'm not sure. There's this from 2012: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/09/11/men-women-prison-sentence-length-gender-gap_n_1874742.html
Men Sentenced To Longer Prison Terms Than Women For Same Crimes, Study Says

There are some interesting links from this short article.

I lump them all in the same group and hate them all equally, ugly, pretty, I don't care. A killer is a killer is a killer.

PS--- I don't find Oscar Pistorius or Scott Peterson attractive at all.

Yeah if I found it true it'd be interesting. I just don't see it. Go to any board of any killer here and they are getting pretty much the same treatment. As a I mentioned, on the Pistorius board it was even worse than it is here. Murderers tend to stir these things up in us. Seems a normal reaction to a perceived injustice.

I don't look at killers and say "well they only did this so it's not really as bad as those who have done this." That's such a minimalizing of human life, IMO. Even if you compare it to child killers. A life is a life, no matter what age.

With Jodi what I think does it for people is the depths of the lies she's told. Again, perceived injustices draw strong reactions from people and murderers do tend to be judged very harshly.

It's an interesting working theory. However, I don't think women judge her MORE harshly because she is a woman. I do believe, we can identify and see through her bullchit more clearly than men can. I think I'd be just as intrigued if the same variables existed, but the genders were reversed.
