Azlawyer,

Can Jm use all the videos he wants of people testifying in the first trial, to dispute what Dr Sex or any other defense witness says?

good question

Yes, if he uses the official court video instead of the media video (or gets KN to agree to media video), and edits it to what he plans to use ahead of time so the edited portion can be marked as an exhibit to preserve the record for appeal, and gets a copy to KN in time for KN to make objections to the edits and the judge to rule on them.

It's kind of a pain, to be honest. I'd much rather use transcripts and move the testimony along, unless there's a long clip that's really relevant. Especially on cross, when you really want to make it snappy to keep the jury's attention.

Thanks AZL. I appreciate your time answering our questions. I suggested pulling clips from videos and showing them to counter the defense expert where she was wrong. It picked up from there. Reason why I'm not a lawyer...honestly would have learned how to add music to the video. ha ha!

Oy vey, ole Juan is going to have a good time with this, imo.

I wasn't making fun of you. :) Just thought with all the religion talk from Dr. F that we might as well throw in heresy as well.

Always, always appreciate your (lawyer's) sense of humor. :happydance: I chuckle a lot, so a big thank you for all your very polite and properly said comments!!!!

Thanks. So technically he could have the good doctor read the transcript of Jodi admitting on the stand from trial 1 that she is the one who brought KY into the relationship.

We the People have confronted many complex problems as our society has advanced over centuries. Just look at the strides in gay marriage, women voters, slavery that have turned around in a relatively short amount of time in perspective. I'm just glad to be kickstarting a conversation as this issue, imo, has already spiraled out of control. It's done so insidiously that things that would have been objected to just two decades ago and disallowed (like my sister's supposed drug use and sexual partners) are now considered just expected. Because these defense attorneys keep pushing the envelope and getting away with it.

THings need to be reigned in for the sake of human decency. We've gone way too far afield for the worst of the worst in our society and if for nothing else it makes us WEAK and vulnerable putting ourselves at risk like this to known dangerous individuals. Evil does exist in this world, and protecting it in no way elevates life for the rest of us who by the way pay the way for the worst of the worst.

Totes agree KCL, it seems as if the court system has gone out of it's way to protect the rights of defendants. Hey I am all for a fair trial, BUT there has to be something done about the way defense attorneys are able to basically present "evidence" based on pure conjecture, or worse the heresay of the defendant. It just makes me get so darn frustrated, angry and despondent. We have the power to change things, now we just have to figure out HOW TO DO IT! Okay I will step off of my soap box now:blushing:

AZL what's the difference between the court video and media video besides who did the recording? Is it the "court video" that will be released after the trial or is there still one separate media camera recording it? If so, any idea who's manning it? (ch 12 maybe?) I know CNN/HLN all pulled out of the trial so it has to be local, right?

I admittedly have no ideas or expertise on how things could change but I do have a voice and a history and I think the first step to any big change like this is to think that it doesn't have to be that way and speak up about it being wrong. I would guess every big revolution has started exactly like that so I'm ok with being in the discussion stage.

Oh I would love to see this Dr. have to read some of this murderers own damning words.

Me too KCL. I'm hoping JM pulls out every page of his cross of her and gets Dr Sex to read each and every line of it.

I'm still blown away by the lack of HLN/CNN, do we know for sure why they left town?

Oh yes! Then I am sure her incredible "mind reading" abilities would conjure up some completely absurd justifications for those statements! This "expert" seems to have an explanation that reflects badly on the VICTIM, not the already convicted murderer.

My HLN source just said "they no longer have interest in this trial". I'm hoping that's really bugging Jodi Arias and a few others for which I couldn't be more pleased.

As long as she doesn't forget to bring her glasses. :drumroll:

We could probably make a list of excuses we'll hear her come up with at that point:
- "The context is important here; let me explain why what she said isn't what she meant."
- "JA told me that was something she fudged the truth on at that point ... to try to protect Travis' reputation."

I concur, big difference between prison and jail

I agree, a couple of inmates last year in the jail thought Jodi was "an amazing person" guess she can fool some of the people some if the time. We'll see when she gets to maximum security prison if anyone will think she is amazing. I don't think she will get the death penalty, would be real nice if I'm wrong.

At the same time in Jodi's mind she might think she can manipulate and control the people around her in prison. Hopefully she will meet a bigger and badder sociopath than herself. Jmo

Yes. (Response from AZL)

Since this particular lie is officially on the record, what are the chances Nurmi will give Dr. F a chance to (ahem) correct her misstatement thereby taking a little steam away from Juan's cross direct.

Exactly! This woman is still so obsessed that nothing else will do. She knew what she did was wrong, but in her (still) crazily obsessed head, she insists on this kind of defense--probably now more than ever, since the truth of his murder is obvious. I think that she is still obsessed with Travis. She is that messed up.

Idt Jodi was obsessed with TA imo it didn't matter who the male was as long as she got what she wanted. She tried real hard to get serious with TA. Young guy with assets, friends, community. Problem was no one wanted to put a ring on her finger. Remember how quickly she was with Ryan Burns? The next day after she killed TA. Smh jmo
