As much as I want this to be the last and final round for this mess, I would not blame every single remaining juror if they were to ask to be dismissed. Seriously, at the rate this thing is going it could easily go into and beyond February and I think it is asking an awful lot of the jurors to stick with it indefinitely. Civic duty it is but come on, there comes a time when it isn't even realistic to call it that anymore.

I love Beth Karas, but I'm not going to shell out money for one trial summary a week though. She's gotta love this stalling. It keeps people subscribed. It's only what? $5.99 a month?

I'm pretty sure she doesn't love it. She has mentioned that she has to give up the place where she's staying in Phoenix when the Superbowl starts.

But my understanding is that if JA does not let herself be crossed than any testimony she has already given will be thrown out. This is such a weird trial. We should only be discussing whether or not her life is worth saving and instead this judge thinks we need to further trash Travis for some reason.

A very salient point, I think, and the crux of the matter. What does that say about the judge?

Just asking, because I don't get why they are looking at 2 timestamps when AZ doesn't recognize DST, so the time never changes?

The time never changes, but the time ZONE does. In AZ if you are set in the wrong time zone then the time will be off.

That's awful, and this probably won't happen, but feel the need to tell you what happened to my friend when she had a similar incident. She heard her lab mix going crazy at the back door. She went and looked and a teen was in her yard, stealing fire wood. She opened the screen door to yell at him and her old doggie chased him back over the fence.

HOWEVER, the next day she found her dog eating some meatballs in the yard. She took them to the vet because she had no idea where they came from and it was good she did so. They were poison but her dog was fine. So I would keep a close eye on your back fence and your sweet doggie just in case. LOL

What I don't get about this, is that he already had a deadline for this from Sept iirc and then was given this extension because of the whole sob story about threats and such(like this is a new thing, that's why there's allowances to allow testimony in other than open court, just not in star chambers) and still the judge won't say enough, you've had plenty of time and opportunity to get these in, any witnesses not already in compliance are heretofore disallowed to testify for this proceeding. Let's rock! Nurmi, call your next witness, now.

He's not going to and the 'judge' won't make him.

I feel so bad for her. With this trial it has become evident why news stations find it too risky to follow trials.

There was a fabulous comment this morning where the poster pointed out that reporters are not doing their job. No one is questioning all of this absurdity and the cost. They should be challenging events and they are not.

Nurmi's goal is, I assume, to try and cause a mistrial so his client doesn't get sentenced to death. So he's pushing every single boundary and line he and his conspirators can think of to try and create more and more delays. The judge could order him to proceed anyway, but for some reason she's like a deer in the headlights. Is it for fear of being overturned on appeal because she would be forcing the defense into action and they would use it for an appeal after the conviction? Maybe she too is hoping this whole thing just ends and she can sentence Arias and get it over with?

The irony is not lost on me. She's afraid of the appeal and not having any errors, so she's creating errors or perhaps bias against the state to try and protect the case at every possible point, but she'll probably end up with a mistrial or hung jury anyway.

I'm thinking that perhaps she's reached her level of incompetence.

I agree. And I do not even care if she gets the DP anymore. She is already DEAD. Let her rot in prison forever. Who cares. :jail:

I know the Alexander Family prefers the DP and I totally understand. But at this point I think we are all more worried about her CONVICTION sticking. And I bet they are concerned about that as well. I wish this whole ugly mess of a trial could just end right now with a LWOP/ End of Story. No more circus.

Do you think Judge Stephens' attitude has anything to do with it because to me she seems really dismissive of jurors and their lives?

She's also talking on the chat right now with people and answering questions. She believes they must have known the questions came from her and that it's possible that's why she was targeted.

Like I guessed in my other post, she said she believes she was moving "in the right direction" and her findings after the fact have just solidified that.

I am not worried about the conviction sticking. I think that is solid.

Yes, I am aware that Jason Young won a new trial. His deed was just as heinous and it took a lot of effort to get a conviction, only to have it overturned on appeal. However, in Young's case it was judge error that was deemed prejudicial to the defendant; in Arias's case the odds are greater that judge error will prove to be beneficial to the defendant--IOW, less chance of guilty verdict being overturned for Arias. IMO.

I have, for a long time now, wanted this to end...just sentence her to LWOP and be done with it. I think that's where it's headed anyway. I am just so sick of her!

I think it's a mistake for this defense to focus so much on that text message exchange where Travis is calling Jodi names and display any chance they get.

IMO, she didn't say this, but IMO juror 3 finds it insulting that the DT and that Fonseca tried to frame it as Travis just ranting and raving at Jodi and the reason he was mad at her was just because she was the center of his sexual conflict. Anyone with a logically thinking mind can see that Jodi did something to him, something that deeply, deeply angered and hurt him and that's why he was angry. She had betrayed him in some way and crossed some boundary. Juror 3 saw this very clearly, as do most of us here. And it is insulting for Fonseca to say Jodi didn't know why he was angry. That's just stupid. Of course she knows. She clearly knows exactly what it was.

Hopefully there will be justice soon. Travis and his family are still the focus in sane peoples minds. I have never been able to grasp how anyone can defend a cold blooded murderer, my mind just won't take me there and I'm glad. Even IF I could believe a self defense claim (I can't), it still wouldn't negate the wounds he suffered. All of this has been so unreal to me.. like a bad movie that the script got effed up. I still have 100% confidence in JM, and know he will bring it full circle. :winner:
