This suggests that people, those of us arguing that it is one of the worst of the worst, aren't capable to form an opinion about the heinousness of a certain media without someone being influenced by the media. Never even caught one hour of HLN because of my location and plus this is not the first trial I've followed. I think it's important to not blame others opinion on "the media" or "hysteria" because people disagree with your point of view.

Sorry Lambchop. That was my last comment on the discussion.
I was about to write the same thing. Never watched this trial on television. Only kept up with it after something I had read and was curious about her. I can't blame th media for anything, unless maybe it is Michael Keifer. Thanks for stating the obvious, that we each have a right to our opinions.

Jodi Arias has/had the potential to kill again far more than the average person, and she has people in mind that have pissed her off. I never said she was a serial killer yet, only that had she not been caught when she was, there would have been more deaths in my opinion. Surely you don't really believe that she packed guns and knives because she was packing for a camping trip in gold country with men she didn't even know.

I have always thought that certain people, who knew too much, would have been in danger. If she needed to kill to keep her secret safe she would do so. Once you have slaughtered someone in cold blood, it get easier.

I don't think she's as smart as Scott Peterson, she's more vengeful, I think she was after other victims thinking she'd snowed Det. Flores since they didn't immediately arrest her.

I've wondered if she might have wanted to eliminate Darryl. He could tie her to the gas cans

What secret?

She literally left a few calling cards at the crime scene: her palm print in the victim's blood on the wall of his bathroom. Her hair in the blood in his bathroom. Pictures of herself in the middle of committing the murder on his camera. Everyone who knew Travis well immediately pointed to her as the person police should look at first. Everyone knew she was obsessed with him and several knew he was being stalked by her. She was under surveillance in the days before her arrest.

I don't think Daryl was in any danger. She left so many clues she'd have to eradicate half of CA. Matt either. Matt might be now though

Will be interesting Monday to see if JSS releases the transcript of the killer giving her "super secret" testimony or, if after hearing oral arguments from the press, she decides to take it under advisement like she usually does.

Yeah. I think she was going to make a run for it. She was scared and feeling the investigation closing in. I think she could have tried crossing a border. I don't see any other reason for taping the gun inside the engine. If the gun was to kill someone else she could just keep it in the car. If it were to kill herself if cornered by LE it would be beside her on the seat.

I wondered that too but she seems to appear confident that her old boyfriends are her closest allies. Go figure. No evidence of that.
But...I would venture a guess they are afraid to say anything even remotely negative about Jodi, for fear she will go after them if she were to ever be released.

I think she killed the only one that really knew the true Jodi.

From JA's journal:

Dec.24, 2007.
"I will never tell my mom or dad or anybody about my business again. Never. They cannot be trusted. Lesson learned."

Iirc, isn't the reason they arrested her when they did was because they thought she was making a run for it?

Or...taped to the engine until she reached her destination in Arizona to shed more blood. All speculation of course.

The surveillance couldn't have been that tight... they apparently came back the morning they arrested her and found her packing the car. Sounds like it was a day job for someone.

Yes. Flores had gotten DNA matches on her blood and hair. The grand jury indicted her then they put her under surveillance until Flores got to Northern CA

Iirc, at that point they had been watching her for days and likely saw packing up the rental car.

I wish Matt would testify. He's one I'd like to hear from. He can be a secret witness. I don't care. Tell the truth and spill with protection.

2 knives apparently, not sure how accurate this is.

"JEAN CASAREZ, "IN SESSION" (via telephone): Nancy, we`re learning some absolutely amazing things from a police incident report that we have just gotten hold of. On July 14th, when Mesa police detectives went to Yreka to arrest Jodi Arias, they found her at her grandparents` house.

They visually surveilled her from outside, and they could see inside that she was packing boxes and packing suitcases. They believed she was going to flee. They stayed there watching her. In time (ph) of that night, of July 14th, a car pulled up. She came outside to talk to a female person in the driver`s seat. They believe that was her mother. It was a lengthy conversation. It ended with Jodi going back into her grandparents` house, her mother driving off.

The next day, they found a brand-new shiny rental car outside of the grandparents` house. They subsequently arrested Jodi, executed a search warrant, and found in that rental car boxes of books of Jodi Arias`s. Intermingled amongst the books were two knives. In her suitcase was a box of .9-millimeter bullets, no gun.

Less than a month later, her mother was inquiring where the gun was that Jodi had hidden in the rental car. They traced the rental car at that point to San Francisco, California, and they found hidden in that car a .9- millimeter gun."

Kinda OT but not, but I don't think even Susan wright and JA are nearly on the same scale of evil. JA was and is much, much worse. Of course I didn't get nearly involved with the intricacies of Susan wrights case so I may very be off base but I'm not sure Susan was a born killer with a truly evil heart like CMJA. Now, Carla holmoke... She's on the same level of CMJA in my personal opinion on level of evil

I think this crime needs to be put in perspective, perhaps it has been the media involvement more than anything that has created the feeling that this is one of the worst of the worst. HLN had to fill in hours and hours of TV time every night on this case for months and to do so they had to find new angles for their viewers to become outraged over. Even if Jodi does get the DP, which is unlikely, then it will likely be overturned on appeal because her lawyers will be able to argue that the amount of media coverage, and the tone of that coverage, meant the new jury who came in to make a decision on the second penalty trial had already been tainted by it before they were even called. It's a shame both sides couldn't have come to an agreement on life without parole between the first trial and this one.

I do agree that her lawyers will probably try to ague that. The problem with that little scenario is that her very own lawyers could not even keep their own client from running to the MEDIA to do her many post verdict INTERVIEWS. Her ONLY conditions were they not show her jailhouse stripped pants, and must provide makeup. So that one will backfire. IMO
And let's not forget that it was JA's HERSELF that brought the media in with her Inside Edition interview while she was still in jail in California. Then again in Arizona on her 48 hours interview. She has no one to blame but herself. She loves the attention of the media, she just wants to pick and choose when it will benefit her. Her mom and dad also did an interview on youtube soliciting money. Surely another ploy to use to media. Just sayin
