It's just another delay tactic, possibly fueled by the killer since the computer belonged to...TRAVIS! and she wants more info. about him. So it's a red herring. That poor jury.

I'm hesitant to post this since I'm going OT and because I know the DT reads here :seeya: but I think you're right and the quote below illustrates why:

I'm listening to a podcast interview with Jeremiah Zagar who directed an HBO documentary called "Captivated: The Trials of Pamela Smart" that aired in 2013.

JEREMIAH ZAGAR: I don't have solutions. I don’t have clear answers. And I think the film is attempting to bring up questions so that, ideally, you know, people involved in the justice system can make structures to make things more fair.

Now, one of the attorneys we talked to J. Albert Johnson, said the trial should have been stayed, and it should have been stayed and stayed and stayed and stayed, until it was no longer a story.

BROOKE GLADSTONE: Wait until the controversy blew over? That could take decades, if you have people like Bill Spencer on the case.

JEREMIAH ZAGAR: Right, and that's the problem. And there's a desire for retribution in the public. And, therefore, it's very possible that a person who didn't commit the crime they’re convicted of is convicted of that crime. Until there's not a thirst for blood, it's very difficult in a sensationalized environment to find where the truth lies.

Hearing this, I'm glad that there is so much less media coverage of this penalty phase retrial. I'm glad Twitter is difficult nearly impossible for many of us to follow. I hope they stay away. I was actually relieved that Jodi Arias' name did not appear in this podcast. As much as I would like to see the live stream of this phase, I want JA to never successfully appeal her death sentence when the jury gives it.

There is also a segment on Online Supersleuths in this week's show. :websleuther:It's an interview with Debrah Haliper who wrote The Skeleton Crew: How Amateur Sleuths Are Solving America's Coldest Cases (which I think has Websleuths in it!)

From JA's journal:

"I will never tell my mom or dad or anybody about my business again. Never. They cannot be trusted. Lesson learned."

Thanks!

Hmm, So a slow burn had already started. Paranoid much there Jodi?

The date is strange, Christmas Eve. I just wonder what she might have told them? I am too tired to go looking at the journals again right now, but I wonder what was going on prior to that entry?

I do agree that her lawyers will probably try to ague that. The problem with that little scenario is that her very own lawyers could not even keep their own client from running to the MEDIA to do her many post verdict INTERVIEWS. Her ONLY conditions were they not show her jailhouse stripped pants, and must provide makeup. So that one will backfire. IMO
And let's not forget that it was JA's HERSELF that brought the media in with her Inside Edition interview while she was still in jail in California. Then again in Arizona on her 48 hours interview. She has no one to blame but herself. She loves the attention of the media, she just wants to pick and choose when it will benefit her. Her mom and dad also did an interview on youtube soliciting money. Surely another ploy to use to media. Just sayin

Oh yes, she went running to the media at every single opportunity, she will still find a way to use all the negative press to her advantage come appeal time.

When I get some time I'll check and see if that's in the same time frame as when her mom went to her friend, who was apparently Mormon, to ask how and who to contact in Mesa about getting the Bishop there to talk to JA about her emotional problems.

Edit: so far I've found this, not sure on time frame yet.

http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/1304/29/ng.01.html
"SANDRA ARIAS: Because (INAUDIBLE) one of the things when she was here (INAUDIBLE) I called (INAUDIBLE) she`s a member of the Mormon church, and I called the bishop here and wanted to know if there`s any way he could find out where she was going down there to the church because I wanted to talk to him and see if he could talk to Jodi and find out what`s going on because, like I said, she would just totally flip out on me.

And then I had one of her friends call me in the middle of the night, call us one night and say, You need to get Jodi some help."

Edit 2:

Only things I've come across so far is on one of the two entries(so far) for Oct.21, 2007, she says "Something important happened on this date in my past, I just can(sic) remember what it is." then on the 23rd she starts reminiscing about Bobby etc and on Oct.26, 2007 she says she's "over" TA, then starts a pity party. I don't recall if she called MM at that time, will need to go reread it all(this is just from some notes I took while reading the journals the first time) but she then said she'd called MM Dec.7, 2007. Was apparently going through another one of her pity parties about that time.

I loved some of the guilt phase Juror questions for CMJA. This one was way too much information from her. LMAO

JUDGE SHERRY STEPHENS, PRESIDING OVER TRIAL: "Can you give a few examples of what might be considered negative other than those already discussed?"

ARIAS: Negative experiences?

STEPHENS: Just says "negative." I think it`s in connection with your journals.

ARIAS: Well, I don`t know that that means specifically to me, but other than violating the law of chastity or violence, that kind of thing, words that you speak, there is doctrine in the church which says that every word that flows from our mouth we will be held accountable for those words one day. So that`s an example of something negative.

I know some Mormons that drink. That`s an example of something negative. I know gay Mormons, and homosexuality is prohibited in the church. That`s something the church considers negative. It`s not my philosophy. There are things to that effect. I mean, plenty of things that go on.

So I mean, I guess there would be an example as far as the homosexuality goes, because Travis wanted to have a threesome with another woman, and I wasn`t -- I mean, I don`t -- I`m not gay, but it was something I was contemplating going along with. So that obviously, in addition to the sexual sin, depending on what interaction I may or may not have had with that woman, could also be a violation of another law in that regard.

Wow, she was alluding to a threesome being homosexual in nature? If Travis did (which I doubt he did) request another female being brought in, it wouldn't have been for a homosexual encounter UNLESS she (JA) would be getting it on with the other female too. Even then, I'm just not sure it would rise to the level of homosexuality. I think she might have envisioned herself as a 🤬🤬🤬🤬 star, but switched it to say Travis called her that. Whacko!!!!

Wait jodi. I thought he was a pedo and liked little boys? But Here she says in the context of homosexuality that he wanted to have a three some with another woman(what man doesn't) and thatshe[B wasn't gay? Her mouth writes more check than her you know what can cash

I have learned so much more from reading after the guilt phase testibologny (sp). Some of it I just hadn't paid attention to at the time I guess. I think most of us has found some tidbit to share. LOL

The surveillance couldn't have been that tight... they apparently came back the morning they arrested her and found her packing the car. Sounds like it was a day job for someone.

Didn't her mother get the rental car for her? Anyone remember? I know the police in her town were keeping tabs on her because one of them testified about their surveillance activities. They knew she hadn't left her house or, more importantly, left town, and right at the point they saw she was packing the car to leave they brought her in and she's been in jail ever since.

This has to be an error, right!!! If it's not, I give up entirely on JSS. And so should the citizens of maricopa

Did all of Maricopa County Superior Court really take 2 weeks off for winter break? Hopefully the calendar might be updated more completely on Monday.

Agree. IMO she intended to kill him in the shower with a couple of stab wounds with the blood flowing neatly down the drain. His fighting back led to panic. She freaked out and just kept stabbing until he quit moving. The throat slit took care of him. He wasn't going to make it to the stairs or a phone. IMO the gunshot was a forensic countermeasure to make it appear that two people carried out the crime.
She wasn't as an efficient killer as she had planned to be

So the question is, why / how could she have convinced herself he wouldn't fight back ? He was a healthy, strong man. I mean, could she have been that delusional ? So that in itself is a mystery to me, unless, the gunshot actually was first, or she did use a stun gun. And whichever it was didn't disable him as long as she thought it would. Food for thought.

That was what I recall too, though according to what her dad had told Det F, he was the one that was supposed to pick JA up early that morning to go get the rental, so I guess it's back to sleuthing...:

"JEAN CASAREZ, "IN SESSION" (via telephone): Nancy, we`re learning some absolutely amazing things from a police incident report that we have just gotten hold of. On July 14th, when Mesa police detectives went to Yreka to arrest Jodi Arias, they found her at her grandparents` house.

They visually surveilled her from outside, and they could see inside that she was packing boxes and packing suitcases. They believed she was going to flee. They stayed there watching her. In time (ph) of that night, of July 14th, a car pulled up. She came outside to talk to a female person in the driver`s seat. They believe that was her mother. It was a lengthy conversation. It ended with Jodi going back into her grandparents` house, her mother driving off.

The next day, they found a brand-new shiny rental car outside of the grandparents` house. They subsequently arrested Jodi, executed a search warrant, and found in that rental car boxes of books of Jodi Arias`s. Intermingled amongst the books were two knives. In her suitcase was a box of .9-millimeter bullets, no gun.

Less than a month later, her mother was inquiring where the gun was that Jodi had hidden in the rental car. They traced the rental car at that point to San Francisco, California, and they found hidden in that car a .9- millimeter gun."

Hopefully they just haven't updated the court calendar. Holidays always put everything behind. :gaah: I just wish JSS would kick it in high gear. IMO, she doesn't work well with time management. :notgood:

Interesting so her mother asked police? Or did they hear the mother say that on a bug? Either way, mother clearly knew that Jodi had hidden a gun in the car huh? So not cool. Reminds me so much of Jackie Peterson.
