The date on that check is about a week before the day she claims she found TA with the printed images of little boys in underwear.

She testifies that she loaned it to Travis and that he promised to pay it back right away. She said she had checks bounce because he didn't, he didn't pay the overdraft fees, and he screamed at her. He did eventually pay her back, but she had to ask her mom for money to move back to Yreka in March, according to her testimony.

ETA: Not that any of this has anything to do with reality, of course.

Right, how ridiculous and absurd, she was always penniless and most of the time unemployed, sponging off of her old boyfriends or whoever else she could suck in.... hell, it appears she couldn't hold down a job for more than two to three months in most cases, Six months tops. Yet she's claiming he's borrowing money from her. She's so pathetic.

That was my thought as well, I have been looking for a date they traveled there, to no avail. I do remember something about her saying something to the effect of them having a fight in Ohio, and she tried to not look mad in the photo taken with the Falls in the backround. Surely they didn't drive on that trip, and I am wondering why Ohio was mentioned. Damn I hate it when I can't find something I know I heard. LOL.

I'd never really considered her making a run for it in much detail. It's a perfectly good theory. Perhaps I'm more convinced by the possibility that she was on her way to kill again. She hid the gun because she didn't want to be caught with a gun. She also hid two knives. Heading for the Mexican border, a woman afraid - would the gun not be of more use right next to her? It was bought legally. Concealing it makes little sense. Avoiding being caught with potential murder weapons - after Travis was slaughtered with a gun and a knife sounds very like CMJA. Getting caught after committing new crimes probably wouldn't much matter to her. Being halted before further revenge attacks would. I guess we'll never know!

Does anyone know how the gun got there? If it was hidden in the new rental car and the vehicle was under surveillance, who put it there? Does anyone think her parents reported the car rental to the police? Is that what the betrayal comment was all about in her journals? Did she add that to the year before knowing her parents would be hurt by it?

I'm fairly confident the betrayal comment was about her mom trying to contact JA's bishop as I tried to show in this post:

There are far fewer women on death row than men. It's harder to get a woman on death row. IIRC

I watched a Utube, think it was 48 hrs, its about Marjorie Orbin who killed her husband in AZ, it was prosecuted in Phoenix. She beheaded and cut off his limbs and put him in a tote (she was seen on video purchasing the tote). It was a death penalty case however she was given LWOP. Heinous crime.

After watching it, I realized JA will not get the death penalty in AZ. I feel she deserves it and my hope is she will, but just don't think it will happen.

Juries just don't like to send women to death, had it been a man, he would be sitting on Death Row.

I'm sure, even the family is prepared for either decision and so is the prosecutor. Nothing is guaranteed. It doesn't matter to me which one she gets, as long as she is carted off to Perryville. The sooner, the better. I'm just glad we already have a conviction in this case, one never knows with the juries these days. JA will never see the outside world again. Rightly so. Someone might want to tell her supporters that, though. Lol.

After looking again tonight at JSS's court schedule, the only days she has a case scheduled after 8:30 am this week are for Jodi on Monday and other cases on Friday 1/9. So, Tuesday-Thursday are open so far, hopefully they get this computer stuff over with, secret witness etc... It could also be that JSS doesn't release it until late or maybe she can't predict what days they will continue JA's penalty phase? One day at a time...

Never in my right mind would I want a person like Jodi around, even in my town. (cringe when there's mention of a Tucson relationship). Mesa is close enough. (sorry neighbors) Following her case reminds me of a dangerous predator. A stalker, someone who twist reality, someone who would kill when unhappy. She thinks very differently & dangerously. Always planning and in advance too. Scary.

LWOP maybe, but the DP scares her more than anything obviously & the family wants it, jmo. Her case has ran up a couple million dollars already so why not go all the way with the DP & appeals? jmo

I have always been conflicted with the DP. In cases where there is absolutely no doubts, been proven via DNA especially, then I am not against the DP. I would have been happy with LWOP in May of 2013, but I have been supportive of the Alexander family. (JMO)

I still want Arias to get the DP but I really am okay with LWOP. Arias--the 'artist' who has always had a bad case of wanderlust-- is going to have a very difficult time in prison where every last bit of freedom will be stripped from her.

Will we ever get to verdict day though? Unless there is a mistrial and the trial comes to an abrupt end I don't see this one ending before April.

Part of me wonders if the defense's montonous "Travis is the bad guy" over and over again have made people think that JA's actions aren't so bad from reading. Did they win with this tactic, the release of JA's diary? Juan & Flores are bad guys? hmmm

Someone has said it says Air travel when it was enhanced. I read this in the comment section of a blog. I have no idea, just tossing that out there. She would owe him money for vacations they took together. (IMO). Edited to add: (oops after reading a post, yes, I think he said Air fare, thank you).
