But, let's keep perspective here. Releasing the transcripts only caters to our curiosity-- it doesn't/shouldn't affect the trial itself as I assume that will continue on today. Let's just remember that JM heard whatever was said and it will be dealt with.

Now, on with today's games!

For Nurmi, not just about the transcripts. He's still advocating for closed court, actually. To quote what he said a bit ago.."if Court is open (for her further testimony) then it is game over."

Thanks, that makes more sense.

But if it could cause damage to release before SC deals with it, then why say she'll consider again if they haven't?

Not directed at you AZ (you are such an angel of helpfulness!) but this whole glacial pace and trying to understand trial by tweet is so frustrating!

My question: what potential damage could likely arise? What legal ramifications are likely if she releases the transcripts?

From the murderous liar's point of view, if JSKS released the clandestine transcript then the Supreme Court has no case to review.

Respectfully, Nurmi is full of it! JA & company just want to continue to stall. Because it is a DP case, IMO, it is all the more important that JA continues her testiphony - that is if she really values her life as she is attesting too. (Come to think of it, she only values her life and not that of Travis.) She has that choice to testify or not and the other options as outlined by the CA, i.e., media and public in overflow room.

I pity the poor appeal court clerks who have to go through this whole trial transcript from day one to sentencing, looking for errors. Can you imagine how hard it will be to peruse, with all the breaks and sidebars blah blah blah

AZlawyer, if the Supreme Court rules in support of the COA, why would JSS need another hearing before releasing the transcript? Why not just release then, if she is waiting on their ruling?

Nurmi seems to be implying that if the transcripts are released JA will refuse to further testify, and therefore won't have a full mitigation case, thus the damage.

The part JSS doesn't seem to get is that the COA already ruled JA isn't entitled to have her cake and eat it too. Her choice to testify. If she decides no, so be it and roll the tapes.
