I just read the full denial by Judge Stephens, denying all of Jodi's silly motions to dismiss the death penalty or to sanction prosecutor. I gotta say I am surprised but happy!

I'm happy as well but still not impressed. Many of these motions should have been ruled on a long time ago.

Ah, but she has! She's just done it in writing, and it's all a legal order! GO JSS, you rock!!!

I understood every word of her rulings too and so will JA who clearly was the puppet master behind 98% of them. It really brings JW's comment today re the trial having gone on too long already into perspective. Even the DT has had enough I bet. These motions were embarrassing in their desperation. Oh well.....I bet we get full court days from now on.

:happydance:

If I was on the jury after all the statements this judge has made I don't think many have actually come true. I would start to seriously doubt anything the judge says. Especially if they don't work a "full day" Tuesday.

Although it looks like my definition of a full day and hers are completely different.

Like the definition of "immediately" As is the definition of a set date.

On January 14, 2015, Mr. Smith testified that a modification to a hard drive does not
change the data on the registry tables. No evidence files were deleted and the history
or cookies were not affected when the hard drive was accessed on June 10, 2008 or
June 19, 2009. The files that were modified or overwritten were the operating files.

NO EVIDENCE FILES WERE DELETED, yup I bolded that!!

But read the ruling she just released. I am willing to cut her a break after reading it. SHE SLAPPED NURMI DOWN. :slap:

Better still, SHE SLAPPED ARIAS DOWN!

Sorry. I thought it was ok. Won't do it again.

Not your fault. I was watching the posts and got called out for a sick child so I was gone. We don't want to sleuth people if we are not sure of his identity. I thought the way the testimony was going that he would identify the companies he worked for and you all would find out for sure who it was. What an "unusual" day of testimony this was. LOL

Apologies! I just got home and didn't check the latest. Does anyone have a nice Chianti to suggest to help me eat my words?

Come on guys, don't lose your sense of humor and our camaraderie. I'm sure there's no malicious intent (fancy legal speak hehe) behind any posts on here, today or ever. Smile, drink and be merry. Jodi Arias, Kirk Nurmi and Jennifer Wilmott just got denied. :happydance:

Totally agree!!

True. But I think it is better for the state that they were not. Strategically speaking, it was good that Nurmi thought he was maybe on the right track. So he continued down Slime Highway and made ridiculous motions, over and over, thinking he was actually doing something. I am glad that they were slapped down in one fell swoop. Now he has got nothing. And it is way too late to come up with any more 'dirt' on Flores, or his wife. They will have to focus on Juan. And that is another dead end. Good Luck Nurmi.

Please don't lump all our objections to JSS together. Its dismissive and patronizing. Not all of us are critical of her for the same reasons. I never said or thought she is anti-JM or pro JA or any such.

I object to her --today with great vehemence- -for having such poor control of herself and of her courtroom. Period.

I love you too. But a judge should have the backbone to rule without the COA or SC telling her how to do it. They would have backed her up on appeal anyway. Why make them do your job for you? I can't change my mind on that.

Yep. I agree with both of you.

And another thing, all of this 🤬🤬🤬🤬/evidence tampering stuff was put infront of the jury. Should they not somehow be informed that the court has found NO EVIDENCE of either accusation.

Okay, my euphoria is dying down...

Jodi has some nerve to ***** about a detective waking up a computer with a pencil somehow being a serious enough error that it justifies taking away the death penalty in a case where she stabbed, shot and slit the throat of her victim.

And Maria needs to lose her damn job. Smuggling things out of the jail for Jodi Arias. What kind of unprofessional BS is that?

And I just LOVE how everything was resolved between JW and JM (he even apologized) until the sidebars were made public. Then, suddenly it became something of such importance that it could affect juror's perception of her. Total nonsense.

And I find it hilarious how they whine about Detective Flores's wife tweeting trial commentary and "potentially reaching the jurors through media", when their own client sat down with plenty of media journalist to discuss her case before her original trial was even finished!

Reaching the jurors through media.....we know JA has at least one, maybe 2, reporters in her lap. Plus the cheerleaders who show up on social media spreading her "word".

Shouldn't affect the jury at all. They don't know about the DT's allegations. She has to give wide latitude to the Defense Team in this phase because it's the Death Penalty. The stakes are so high. Personally, I wouldn't have any trouble voting for the DP for Jodi and I used to be Anti-DP.

I was referring to what the jurors can see for themselves in the courtroom, not all that we know. I hope you are correct.

I just loved reading it, including but not limited to, the fact CMJA thought the jail where she is living her luxurious life she has always wanted was picking on her LOLOL.

Seriously tho, they sure racked up and got the full denials of all their motions.

Yup, Yup a good day.

I believe a gazzillion people could claim they were "developers". Wouldn't they just have to be in the community of users who contribute this and that?
I can't really say but I bet you're right. I get requests to evaluate apps I've downloaded all the time. Years...ok decades ago :) I was a beta tester of the Mac 2 OS. How did I get the gig???? I bought a Mac 2 and was asked by the salesperson if I would participate so I did.

Yep. I agree with both of you.

This is honestly what I love most about this place. We can all agree, disagree, post our thoughts and still like each other and be respectful.

So yes, we had a good ending to the day. But I'm still going to complain about the 1.5 court days this week. Still hoping and praying the jury are as frustrated as we are about the lack of preparedness with this defense team and their witnesses.

  • #1,319
Jodi doesn't stand a chance on appeal. I tried to play devil's advocate to JSS's arguments and I couldn't think of anything that would convince someone that her ruling was wrong. She covered everything.
