back from sidebar. Nurmi asking about who Smith consults with. "major corporations". #JodiArias

Gee--I consult with major corporations, too. And even on a regular monthly basis! My bank, my credit card lenders, my insurer, the electricity corp., and the list goes on. Guess that makes me an expert on something or other.

(Seriously, watching the DT's many and various "experts," I wonder if I should just go on Craigslist and advertise myself as an expert for sale. I even have some university degrees. Following ALV, Dr F, and Geffner, all I need to do is set up an "institute" in California and market myself. I could be in my sweet sweet retirement by now.)

What exactly is Kiefer spouting tonight? I can't bare to read him personally.

I just loved reading it, including but not limited to, the fact CMJA thought the jail where she is living her luxurious life she has always wanted was picking on her LOLOL.

Seriously tho, they sure racked up and got the full denials of all their motions.

Yup, Yup a good day.

Oh yea, she was upset because the mean guard searched her cell. Did she forget that she was found GUILTY of brutally murdering someone? She had better get used to having her cell searched and contraband taken away. :jail:

I'm still catching up, but if the youporn was June 1, 2008 I the k it could of been Travis This was just days after the sex tape phone call. I think its possible Jodi told Travis she recorded it, and that is what the heated argument was about. She either threatened him she put a video on youporn or he was worried she might of done it. He went on youporn for fourth-five minutes looking to see if she had put anything on it. I would be looking too.

Very interesting deduction there, it certainly makes sense, and we know there were a few text messages after the 1st that 'mysteriously disappeared' according to JA on the stand (think it was a response to a juror question near the end), he likely was specific about what the 26th fight was all about and she wanted all of that erased.

had we heard previously about Ms Arias' complaints with the service at her lodgings?

Man, I am lost. Going back to work has its disadvantages!

When Juan signed the autograph, didn't Nurmi demand a mistrial right then and it was denied?

Just got in from work...is there court tomorrow???

After today I'll never think of her as anything but reprehensible, actually. I'm glad she outlined all the no's to Nurmi, but that doesn't make her a good judge much less a hero. It makes her an adequate judge ruling on a pile of motions. That's it.

I have to agree. From what I have seen of this entire penalty phase, JSS is not a good judge. Not in the courtroom, anyway. She can write a ruling, and she did an exemplary job with this latest one. However, she still is guilty of sealing documents that probably need not be, of ignoring the Constitutional rights of the public and media--and does all this because a defense attorney demanded it, rather than tell him NO when she had to know his demands were over the top.

I say all the above based on this phase of trial only as up until this phase I was a JSS supporter in spite of the fact that her demeanor was not up to par with what one usually associates with a judge who presides over criminal cases. I figured there was a method to her madness and decided that just because she has an easy-going disposition was no reason to assume she was a pushover. But then this retrial happened...all of a sudden the cameras are BAD. And once the DT won the judge over on that request, they wanted every single thing sealed unless it was something BAD about the prosecution or LE. So everything was sealed, and that led to secret testimony being necessary because BAD things would happen to anyone willing to testify on behalf of the defendant. And the judge again agreed and the Constitution took a back seat, all because the DT would throw a tantrum if she didn't.

I am very pleased with JSS's ruling on all those frivolous motions filed by the DT and it was certainly a good read.

But she still needs to take better charge of her courtroom to be considered a good judge. She needs to be able to say NO to unnecessary document sealings and sidebars. And how about a ruling or two from the bench. That would be refreshing indeed!

All IMO.

It's kind of interesting that she sat on all these motions so she could consolidate them into one giant ruling. It's ljke she knew this would happen and wanted to reduce her work and having to write a response to a new one every other week. Lol.

I think she just never got the chance to complete one before he filed another. lol

Her ruling was a very satisfying read.

Be careful....those of us who are not mesmerized by Sherrys brilliance are being compared to her "fans". Dissent will not be tolerated!!

LOL! It's okay. We are a tough group. :)

I remember him having a huge and public hissy fit. And there was a hearing after court, IIRC. It must have been denied. I guess he added another motion so it could add to the 'pattern' that he was whining about.

One last remark before I leave... Tweeters sure "miss" the good parts, as does, apparently Beth Karas. They've been listening to the same testimony as JSS has, yet somehow none of them wrote a blog post/article highlighting the important parts and sum it all up like JSS did, sometimes in less than five sentences.

I could have saved myself some e-stress if they had done a better job, tbh. IMO.

Journalists these days, smh.

Just got in from work...is there court tomorrow???

Not until Tuesday, due to MLK holiday on Monday (and apparently a lack of witnesses available).

Sooooooo...............

How many new motions is the defense gonna come up with now?

Will the defense get on with it now?

Will the jury ever ever get to finally go home and stay?

Will Travis's family ever be able to go home and finally stay?

Tune in until sometime in Feb?

I understood every word of her rulings too and so will JA who clearly was the puppet master behind 98% of them. It really brings JW's comment today re the trial having gone on too long already into perspective. Even the DT has had enough I bet. These motions were embarrassing in their desperation. Oh well.....I bet we get full court days from now on.

:happydance:

BBM: "You think?"

had we heard previously about Ms Arias' complaints with the service at her lodgings?

I think what judge was referring to was a fake motion that was written and sent to the court where it stated Jodi's breast implant busted and she had hepatitis C. The sheriff was asked about these things and gave the comments that the judge referenced in the ruling. The DT made a nonsensical argument that the sheriff giving a statement to the press about a ridiculous fake motion after he was asked to give one was harassment of Jodi and prejudicial to her.She denied the motion based on that arguemnt.

And another thing, all of this 🤬🤬🤬🤬/evidence tampering stuff was put infront of the jury. Should they not somehow be informed that the court has found NO EVIDENCE of either accusation.

YES...the judge owes Travis that much!!!
