Yes, I think so. It's a close question, because the jury might indeed start to consider her terrible character as an unauthorized aggravating factor, but IMO the defense opened the door to practically any "character assassination" of JA by JM by preposterously claiming that she was a sweet, passive young lady who wished only to please others.
