Isn't quite that simple. Attorney -client privilege attaches. Which is why JM offered the questions ahead of time.

Lonny Dworkin isn't the DT's client though.

To insult De La Rosa's heritage is to insult Martinez's.
Both R Mexican-born US citizens.
Racist bigots can't have it both ways. #JodiArias

-----But it's okay for JA's "supporters" to call Juan names ... double standard, IMO.

Lordy, spare me the false righteous indignation of an especially cruel, exceptionally twisted, unremorseful convicted murderer.

No, Kohl's is much like Pennys and Sears. Clothes for men, women and children, drapes, sheets, dishes, jewelry and a small amount of toys...very small, cards, and wrapping paper. If there is furniture it is an odd chair or lamp, but none of our stores in southern Kansas have furniture.

If they only have a few hundred dollars in clothes themselves, who bought all the rest of it? Did it go to the felon or did she buy all this stuff before being arrested?

BBM:
Even if they got their clothes for @ $10 per item, that is only one almost complete outfit per each of two people ( shirt, pants, shoes, socks, undies, coat....? )

Clothes and possessions aren't necessarily worth the price paid. Purchase price and value aren't the same.
Totally get that but there's a heckuva big difference nonetheless - and I was including furniture that may not have been purchased with either retailer.

Morning! I'm not ready for JM to rest today. I feel like we need more showing why she deserves the DP. Too much time was spent rebutting the 🤬🤬🤬🤬 B.S.

Its just you and me Lissa.

That's nice - 'they' appear to be defending Juan, although I'm sure that's not the intent.

They must have huge medical bills since he was self employed and has been ill. Now on SS but still not much money. So it's not just the trial that is hitting them hard. jmo

There's Medicare and AHA. Dad was likely on disability before, with SS, so Medicare then, too.

6) TA's abuse led to extreme emotional distress at time of incident

This one has struck me from the time I first saw it. It's the most peculiar mitigator I've ever seen.

First, it insults by calling an especially cruel first degree premeditated murder an "incident."

Second, it says outright that Travis the victim was responsible for causing his murderer "distress."

Third, it implies - and not very subtly- that the distress Travis caused her was a factor at the time of the "incident." Suggesting that she snapped, not premeditated a slaughter.

I'm very interested in how Nurmi frames this mitigator in closing, if he does at all. Seems more a piece of the DT's stealth case that Travis deserved to die.

Given the weeks Fonseca/Geffner spent minutely dissecting every word in that May 26 email, that was the "distress" that triggered the slaying imo, not camera-dropping, lineback charging, or anything else that occurred the day JA slaughtered Travis. In fact, I don't remember the DT this time even mentioning what happened in the house that day.

I guess I'm confused now, AZL said this was Juan's case against mitigation or something like that. But the DT has already had Geffner and other witnesses up there. So what was that called.
Maybe I just need a nap. :sheesh:

Actually, it's called extending the paychecks of the defense team.

Lonny Dworkin isn't the DT's client though.

Right. But his concern was not knowing which parts of his work for the DT could be considered covered by that privilege. I admired the fact that he actually showed concern for ethical boundaries....a seemingly rare sensibility for this DT.

How do you own nothing and have all this debt to people you bought things from? Don't believe it. No doubt they're hiding money. Have they been reading up on the Anthonys? ;)

MOO

All sandbagging. Traded in a vehicle lately? Looked on Craigslist? Bought a used car? You can't have 3 vehicles that are worth a combined $2,500!!!! Even if they didn't run, they'd be worth at least 3 times that.

I've been on several juries (none for death penalty cases) but have never in my life seen anything like this farce. It's like they have forgotten that they are dealing with sentencing a convicted murderer-the defense has done nothing but try to ruin Travis reputation all over again-nothing about their precious vulgar client and her evilness.

Exactly. That's why mitigator #3- (JA is remorseful for what she did) is ridiculous since she's added provably false character assassination this round.

From WAT:

Wild About Trial @WildAboutTrial · 6m 6 minutes ago

In the courtroom at #JodiArais. Dworkin bumped into me on the elevator. Juan and him went into side room usually where defense is.

Wild About Trial @WildAboutTrial · 5m 5 minutes ago

No other media present. I am the only one chillin' in the courtal room. #JodiArias

Wild About Trial @WildAboutTrial · 3m 3 minutes ago

Nurmi just arrived with a neat new hard plastic kind of Harley biker looking backpack. Black suit, black tie. #JodiArias

I thought JA dressed in clothes from Salvation Army or something, 'cos they do look really dated. Plus, she's not allowed to wear nice shoes, is she? Prison issue shoes and underwear? Of course, she does have to have pants to fit over the stun belt....

Also, there's no telling how much of this debt was accrued before JA got into trouble with the law.

One of the people is an insult to her heritage, one is not. I happen to share the same heritage.

IIRC: AZL has mentioned before that she thinks very highly of Lonnie.
