RI - Mass Shooting at Brown University - Providence 13 Dec 2025

Just a thought I had, not finalized by any means…

He may have had a vehicle staged on Cooke, north of George. He doesn’t want to be seen going into the vehicle or being associated with it, so he is keeping his distance. He sees folks around, so has to bail a couple of times on trying to access the vehicle and does loops around the intersection. Goes up and down George to make it seem like he’s going somewhere different by other pedestrians, and cuts back to make sure the coast is clear. I need to check on when/where the running instances occurred, but may have been an effort to get to the vehicle while no one was around or move away from the vehicle because people were around.
I think that's a reasonable theory. It might explain why, after running, he then circles back towards the street he was on before. He could be heading back towards something that he doesn't want to be seen approaching -- a vehicle, or his satchel. (I'm not on top of when his satchel is visible.)

I found the Grant Hughes video very helpful to get a better idea of the POI's movements during a short period; I don't know about the theories about interactions w/ a second person. The POI's running reminds me a bit of what I, a small woman, sometimes do when going on a walk in my neighborhood at night. If I see someone who spooks me, I walk sedately to the next corner, turn the corner, walk until I'm no longer visible to the person, and then run like hell to the next corner. Once I'm out of sight around that second corner, I can slow down again. Not only do I want to get away from the spooky person -- I don't want to be seen showing fear and thus looking like a victim.

So the POI sees the other person through the corner, turns and runs, with the goal of getting around the next corner before being seen, and possibly before being seen running (because that would be suspicious). Then he can relax. Why does he run a second time? Does he think he hasn't shaken the person?

The odd thing is that he appears to be circling back rather than going further away. That's where @m00c0w's theory comes in. I assume the POI from out of town rather than the neighborhood. That said, his circling somewhat resembles what people do during car chases here in LA. They tend to return to an area that is familiar to them, often where they live. I agree that the POI may have some sort of "anchor" in the area that he keeps returning to.

From what I can see, he is overweight (maybe not to the degree it looks as i am.not sure he is not carrying something on his belly), has retrognatia (receding chin) and fat neck.

If you Google "retrognatia and fat neck" images or "receding chin and fat neck" Goigle images and take more extreme ones, it might illustrate how it looks to me.

Aghh this is the person that the suspect ran from and then they ran toward him! I mentioned earlier I am surprised they haven't asked for helping in identifying THIS person and here it is. I also wonder if they have ID'd the woman in white that crossed the street prior to the suspect. I don't think they directly passed each other, but she might have seen him walking toward her before she crossed the street and then he followed behind but went a different way once crossed the street.

There was also a woman in close proximity, but they are not asking about her. But maybe she’s already been in contact with them.
Great minds and all.. :)

Maybe Grant Hughes was onto something, then. I had assumed that LE had already spoken with people who crossed the POI's path. It's interesting that this person, who may be female, apparently hasn't come forward yet.

Could they be someone who knew the POI's plans and was trying to stop him?

I wonder where the photo of the person was taken.

Given the intense publicity, it's odd this guy did not contact police earlier.

Ummm....🤔

Feminine figure, feminine hips, a feminine handbag on the shoulder.

Just saying ;)

They seem to be doing everything a stage or two later than they should. Contacting late the neighborhood folks for camera footage, still interviewing classmates and professors (when some would already have gone home for the holidays), not releasing this individual identification request at the time of the presser. Also releasing that weird “enhanced” image before the presser, releasing and then deleting the map video before the presser without good explanation. And of course arresting the wrong person. Gives a chaotic feel but maybe they are under resourced?

It looks like the yard of the Rhode Island Historical Society Aldrich House (110 Benevolent) based on the fence. We saw footage of the other person walking by there. I could be wrong, though!

Could it be the wife of the POI, trying to stop him from his planned course of action? If it's someone either in cahoots with the POI or at least who is trying to protect him, that would explain why they didn't speak with LE.

So after watching the GH video, I am curious why LE hasn't asked for any of the people who crossed paths with him to come forward. There was one woman in white walking and then we see the second guy in black who the suspect was running from and then the guy was also seen running toward the direction the suspect was. I would think either of those 2 would be good witnesses to at least see what they remember. I for sure would think they would want to talk to the second guy in black seen running.
Maybe they read your post here @justtrish ;)😃

I was coming to post this EXACT thing. I google street view walked it and this is exactly where it is and the person is inside the yard so at some point they walked into that yard. If you look on google on Cooke Street the side of that building and look across the street there is brick beams on the fence exactly where they are behind this person.

This is also where we see the guy running and then this person running. Then the suspect rounds the block and is seen running back toward this area. I say either a bag or item was left or some type of exchange happened.

Oh, I doubt that! I just know in other cases LE has asked for specific people to come forward and this was odd that they had this guy running from this person and then this person running after the guy and they didn't mention wanting to talk to them. As someone just stated above it seems they are just a step behind what seems logical each step of the way, but I know it can't be easy with all the footage they are likely receiving and all the kids they needed to interview and so on. It just feels like they are a day or two behind each time they release something or as for something. Maybe there is a reason for that we don't know about. :)

So strange. If the one person was handing off that bag to the POI, why not drop it into the bushes or wherever rather than all this running which imo just attracts more attention?

Agreed. If this was a "dead drop" like one done by Cold War spies, wouldn't the two people act all cool and casual?

I’m wondering if person 1 was waiting for some sort of visual confirmation from person 2 but they didn’t want to be seen together so he took off running, which ultimately ended up looking more conspicuous. I wish we had a time stamp of the photos of person 2!

If in fact that is the R.I. Historical Society Aldrich House, POI was there I believe at 14:38PM (#2) per the prior video sightings compilation. I don't see a time stamp on the 2nd person of interest photos above.
