Notes from PC:Press conference starting now
On Saturday, the POI was in the neighborhood at around 10:30am -- police are asking people to review surveillance footage up to a week before the shooting.
Police chief says they believe the POI was "casing out" the area prior to the crime at 10:30am, which was captured on surveillance video.
Haven't identified an age range for the POI but said a witness reported that he could be in his 30s.
AG states they do have video footage inside the building -- but those videos do not show the POI and thus that is why LE hasn't released those videos. AG explains that because the engineering building underwent a major renovation where a new wing was added. There are cameras in the new wing, but the shooting happened in the old part of the building. In response to a follow-up question about the cameras, the AG explains that the building where the shooting took place is also located on the far edge of campus which is why the videos released have been from the surrounding neighborhood.
Brown president states that they have been working closely with LE to provide them with all the internal info necessary to their investigation.
Mayor states that since the shooting, there have been no credible threats to the city (and to the best of his knowledge, the state) but says they have stepped up LE presence in the city as a precautionary measure.
FBI states that at this time, it seems there is no connection between the murder of the MIT professor and the Brown shooting.
Police chief states they have no information indicating that Ella Cook was specifically targeted.
Police chief states that they are still conducting interviews of students who were in the room where the shooting occurred. In response to a follow-up question, he states that a "good amount" of interviews have been conducted. He says he doesn't have information about whether students have been able to identify what the POI said before the shooting.
In response to a reporter's question, both the police chief and Brown president stated they had no knowledge of the student webpage(s) that have apparently been removed from the Brown website. The AG intervenes and says he had been asked about that by a reporter and urges caution -- says "if that name meant anything to the investigation, we would be out there looking for that person."
AG says they have "zero" information about the motive.
Mayor says that they will be back tomorrow unless there are new developments.
