Iirc Misty's mother told her she could leave.

Iirc Misty's mother told her she could leave.

Really ? Where did you hear or read that ? Why would a mother tell her daughter to leave a police interview about finding a missing child - Misty's future step-daughter - the child Misty said loved her so much ? Didn't both Misty and her mother say "It's all about Haleigh" as they were leaving the courthouse with a license for Misty to wed that child's father ? Guess it wasn't "all about Haleigh" the night before that license was used.

But - focusing on this part of my original post moves us away from the topic at hand - why did Ron and Misty change the story of where Haleigh was sleeping ? I think the reason posted upthread is correct. They realized that the scenario of an alleged abduction from the bed with Misty, Haleigh and Jr all sleeping together was going to raise too many doubts. JMO

Iirc Misty's mother told her she could leave.

Really? [Sincere question. I don't recall ever hearing about that.]

Any idea where I could find that [or how to look for it?]

Misty's mother was, of course, correct about that, but I wouldn't have let my daughter keep going in there without a lawyer, jmo. [lol - don't these people ever watch Law & Order or A&E?]

Also, Patty G. My HVAC is located in at one end of my house and is only accessible via an exterior door, so to change my a/c filter [which, actually, I do] or just about anything else, my HVAC man only has to come inside if I am having problems balancing my system. [But that's just my house; I don't know how others' are, or how mobile home HVACs are set up.]

Well, let's put it this way...her mother certainly didn't tell her to "Sit down and answer the questions"

Or lying to police in an investigation. Wasn't that the charge they first jailed Casey on ?

But, I expect that the lies have to be told directly to LE and Ron/Misty may have just declined to answer some of LE's questions. We know that Misty, at least, is very well aware of her rights with LE. I never would've realized you can refuse to answer and you can just leave an LE interview. But Misty knew that. How a 17 year old would know something like that is an interesting thought. Was she coached ? If so, by whom ? Did that same person(s) also coach Ron on how to avoid answering sensitive questions and thus avoid charges for providing false information ?

If LE was doing their jobs properly, they would have told her at the beginning of the interview, that she was not under arrest and was free to leave at any time. Apparently, she took them seriously and left.

I would think LE would advise her before the interview that she is not under arrest and she is free to leave at anytime.

Sorry, Busy, I didn't see your post before I posted almost exactly the same thing!

Well, there is no confusion on WHO is muddling the waters in this investigation:

1..On Feb 11th, RC says "Misty was in bed with the JR and Haleigh.
2..On Feb 13th, RC says, Misty slept in bed with JR. Haleigh slept on a mattress nearby..
3..ON March 16th, when questioned by NG about the two opposing stories, RC says, IIRC " To be (perfectly?) honest, Ms Nancy, I really have no idea on how people got confused."

The above facts posted are clear as a bell with links and videos to hear RC say this in his own words. No wonder his lawyers didn't want him talking.

...I am struggling with the part, "To be (perfectly?) honest"....you should too.

Since Day One, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office said it believes the girl was abducted from the home hidden beneath towering trees near the end of a sparsely populated rural dirt street.

~Snip~

"We have to operate on several theories. Stranger abduction is one of them," Maj. Gary Bowling said. "We are investigating every possibility. There any number of things that could have happened."

Police have said they think Haleigh was abducted but have provided few details.

Your own link says "stranger abduction is one..." meaning they have several theories. They have not found out exactly what crime was committed nor when it was committed. Therefore, more than one theory. thanks for the link...it validated my point.

I still have to wonder why Ron doesn't push Misty to clear up any problems LE is having with her statements ? Apparently he must not think she needs to. I just find this odd.

Yes. Iirc it's in one of Art Harris's articles.

Really? [Sincere question. I don't recall ever hearing about that.]

Any idea where I could find that [or how to look for it?]

If they "believe or think" it is an ABDUCTION then it means they have ABDUCTION theories and a stranger abduction being one of them.

Now, correct me if I am wrong...but here when I say I "believe or think" something people don't take it as my opinion...they take it to mean (as it has been pointed out a million times) that I am stating it as a fact. So wouldn't that mean it is a "fact" that LE has determined it to be an ABDUCTION and not just their opinion?

In my mind when they state it is "one" of their theories it means exactly that. I am kinda simple that way....logic comforts me.

LOL The truth comforts me more, but hey...to each their own.

So you are saying from now on when I use "I believe or I think"...that I don't have to declare it as IMO? I want to clarify this just to be certain.

I would expect LE to state they know she was abducted.

To state you believe or you think to me is merely stating possible opinion.

"I think she may walk that way"
"I believe she put her to bed at 8:00" vs

I know she walked that way, We know she put her to bed at 8:00 etc

They dont say we think Ron was at work, it is they know he was at work..
does that make sense?

This appears to be a double standard here the way I see it now. I have been repeatedly chastized for this very thing and not using IMO after I have prefaced my comments with "I believe or I think". Glad to know that when it is convenient for people to fit their needs, it no longer becomes an issue. It tells me a lot.

I "think" this bickering has got to stop. I "believe" this is the Ron C. thread and IMO, take the bickering out of this thread, remove the "I know more then you attitude" and let's get back to sleuthing.

If we have nothing to discuss about Ron, then let's just keep "Where Is Haleigh" out there in the public with good thoughts, prayers, ideas or just a candle.

This "junk" is getting really, really old already and I don't understand why it has to be this way. First and foremost a precious child is missing and needs to be found.

I hope Ron or some one will come out and start talking w/ the media. I know Ron doesnt like being there but I hope he starts coming out more...

  • #299
I really think it would help with the motivation of people for him to be the one to start talking since he and Misty seem to be under the scope of the public.JMO of course

SS...Patty has just scolded us and you and I need to declare a truce. I have never to my knowledge corrected you when you prefaced your statement with I believe or I think. I know the difference between a statement of fact and an opinion. I just have asked repeatedly for links, as you do also. Peace.

To keep this about Ron C. It would be helpful to his image if he would speak with LE and media regarding the case.
