Iirc Misty's mother told her she could leave.

Or lying to police in an investigation. Wasn't that the charge they first jailed Casey on ?
But, I expect that the lies have to be told directly to LE and Ron/Misty may have just declined to answer some of LE's questions. We know that Misty, at least, is very well aware of her rights with LE. I never would've realized you can refuse to answer and you can just leave an LE interview. But Misty knew that. How a 17 year old would know something like that is an interesting thought. Was she coached ? If so, by whom ? Did that same person(s) also coach Ron on how to avoid answering sensitive questions and thus avoid charges for providing false information ?
I would think LE would advise her before the interview that she is not under arrest and she is free to leave at anytime.

Since Day One, the Putnam County Sheriff's Office said it believes the girl was abducted from the home hidden beneath towering trees near the end of a sparsely populated rural dirt street.

"We have to operate on several theories. Stranger abduction is one of them," Maj. Gary Bowling said. "We are investigating every possibility. There any number of things that could have happened."

Police have said they think Haleigh was abducted but have provided few details.

Really? [Sincere question. I don't recall ever hearing about that.]
Any idea where I could find that [or how to look for it?]
If they "believe or think" it is an ABDUCTION then it means they have ABDUCTION theories and a stranger abduction being one of them.Your own link says "stranger abduction is one..." meaning they have several theories. They have not found out exactly what crime was committed nor when it was committed. Therefore, more than one theory. thanks for the link...it validated my point.

Now, correct me if I am wrong...but here when I say I "believe or think" something people don't take it as my opinion...they take it to mean (as it has been pointed out a million times) that I am stating it as a fact. So wouldn't that mean it is a "fact" that LE has determined it to be an ABDUCTION and not just their opinion?![]()
LOL The truth comforts me more, but hey...to each their own.In my mind when they state it is "one" of their theories it means exactly that. I am kinda simple that way....logic comforts me.

This appears to be a double standard here the way I see it now. I have been repeatedly chastized for this very thing and not using IMO after I have prefaced my comments with "I believe or I think". Glad to know that when it is convenient for people to fit their needs, it no longer becomes an issue. It tells me a lot.If I say "I believe...or I think...", I always mean it as an opinion. If it is a fact I state it as such.

So you are saying from now on when I use "I believe or I think"...that I don't have to declare it as IMO? I want to clarify this just to be certain.
