(Bold mine.) I think their anger is completely rational, and does not have anything behind it other than the bitter realization that the parent deemed "better" was as far from a responsible parent as one might be---with disastrous consequences. They were failed miserably. They are victims.

I have no doubt that Ronald Cummings loves his children. I have no doubt that his pain is genuine. But love is not enough. His associates, behavior, and choice of partner/childcare giver placed his children in ongoing danger.

He doesn't get an award simply for being more demonstrative than the sociopath in another part of the state, in my book.

When this case first came up, it seemed so easy. I think most of us thought it would be quickly resolved. Who knew?!

Haleigh did not even have a forum for a while because it was thought to be solved within a few days.

I just feel sorry that there is such a division of sides here. I am not for either side here, my opinion can change when and if any information is released.

And yes, who knew this would become so convoluted and LE would be so tight lipped?

The only reason I can think of why LE won't clear anyone is because they don't want anyone to lawyer up yet. They surely have a good idea of a POI by now. Why they feel it is in their best interest or Haleigh's not to name the POI is beyond me?! They need to start applying some REAL pressure in this case where it needs to be applied or they are going to end up with nothing.

That's what scares me....they'll end up with nothing. Just like with Trenton D. He just disappeared. Gone.

For some reason I like the way Bio Mom pronounces "Haleigh", she says it sweetly. I like the way Ron calls her "baby", like she is very special to him. G'ma Sykes is a riot, I loved it when she said, with tears in her eyes, she wanted to punch GR and "almost did".

I agree - LE should just come right out and say so if anyone in either family has been cleared. But they do not. LE has stated that the cousin in Tennessee is not considered to have had anything to do with this. The A/C man is not considered to have had anything to do with this, nor the arrested RSO. LE has said that much. But no such statements in regard to either parent, babysitter, or immediate family.

I also think LE is making a mistake in that there is no more information given out at all. I remember how they would not even confirm that little Haleigh was in school that day. Simple information that could not have hindered the case in any way!

SO, :silenced: I better not say any more or I may get in trouble!

I agree, everytime it's a new day and I get a different piece of information my opinion changes a little...One thing I noticed though....honestly, I don't think Ron has said anything bad about anyone except the person he feels is responsible for taking his child. I don't remember him dragging anyone's name through the mud as some others have done....or am I wrong?

These are the exact reasons why I think they know what happened and are waiting on labs to come back so that they can gather as much information from those in that home first, before they make that arrest that will cut their chances of questioning out.
I truly believe if LE felt this was an abduction, they would make a plea to the public to call in information during that time line. They are not doing that.

OK...here goes: Crystal, at least for two days, stayed close to Ronald and Misty (see photos of them huddled in a hug) for Rj's birthday and for Haleigh. It was a step in the right direction. I am glad she made an attempt to stand together for the children's sake.

One thing that bothers me is the detectives taking Ron down to the docs to talk to him. That isn't normal at all. I don't think he had anything to do with it myself, but what was the purpose of taking him there?

I still think it was simply to get him away from other people so they could speak freely instead of sitting in the car or driving several miles to the command center.
