IF this was the deal, then why do they need another month to mull it over?

One thing i noticed, that it appears that GGS and TN weren't with each other.... that one picture of GGS walking with three others arm and arm, strange her own daughter wasn't arm and arm with each other....

maybe i need more coffee, or maybe i have already had too much...not sure which one.... lol

Prison is best for Ronald, quick, somebody clue her in. It is a place where he can be amongst his peers and make new friends. It is a growth experience.

Ronald will make new friends in prison alright, but only if he does what the potential friend(s) tells him to do. He will find out really quick that prison is not some local county jail - it is much, much worse as you know only too well.

You are right on the mark about he BELONGS in prison. I have no doubt whatsoeva him and his lifestyle are the cause of Haleigh's death...If not directly caused it...You know, when I see a grandmother, stand firm on lieing or obstructing justice or they just want their guitly kin out of jail,,regardless of their proven guilt, I cant help but think of my dear old Grandmother, rest her soul.....She would have felt deep, deep sympathy for whatever I got into but knowing her the way I did,,she would have done everything in her power to see justice done,,and you reap what you sew.....The Annettes and Cindys of this world are making this world a terrible place to live, where they seem to care less about the child that is missing or murdered....they r more concerned about the ones going to prison or getting the needle..

As you already know the next court date for Ronald Cummings is Aug. 20,2010. This is the date for Ronald's plea. The judge spoke to both attorneys and they said they are working on a plea deal but there are still some things that need to be worked out. The state asked for a continuance for the plea date. Which the judge gave them the date above. The Judge made sure that there was going to be a plea made and what charges the plea would be on. Ronald's attorney stated that the state would be dropping the 2 trafficking charges and the plea would be for the 3 other charges.

Shoemaker has always said they wanted the two highest-minimum charges dropped. That would leave three charges that carry a minimum of 15 years. I expected the continuance. Yet, I am not as disappointed about it as I thought I would be. This problem over the plea deal hints that maybe the SA is not as much of a pushover as I was thinking, because he didn't just give in and let RC call the shots.

I will be disillusioned again if the accepted plea agreement is for nothing more than Ronald testifying against Misty. The SA does not need such testimony, so it is of no value whatsoever, IMO.

Nope, for me to continue having any respect for the SAs office, RC's plea agreement will have to include him offering something of value to the state.

An 18 month vigil. why not a vigil every month or every 3 months? A vigil before his court date, a sure play for a sympathy card. I hope everyone sees right through this. How dare they.

What the heck have the attorneys been doing for a month? That was the purpose of the first continuence...to get a plea. this is not so much about a plea as it is positioning. Ron want to be last. He wants "king of the hill". He likes County and does'nt want to leave. Casey likes her "Dorm" also.:behindbar:

:gavel:Where is the justice anyway, it looks like they are holding out for the 15 yrs. They want the x2 25'rs taken off the record. Now why would a prosecutor do that? They normally erase the lower charge. Is Shoemaker saying the State offered to take the (2) 25rs off? If so, why not take it and run? I say the State did not offer to remove the 25 yrs and Shoemaker is blowing smoke.

I guess they want to see if he is playing a part in Haleigh's demise before they sentence. Annette Sykes letter must have been interesting. Public opinion could sway the judge. If the public feels rc is a martyr and the big bad Prosecutor is mean, than PC has a problem. Of course, if he knew about Haleigh all along, they will nail him to the wall for a very long sentence.

He is a crafty one, isn't he? He wants to make sure the others don't squeal on him about anything and he is sitting in general pop to intimidate....what a shame. I was hoping he would go away and the others would talk. He is a piece of work. I will go take myself to the corner for my own time out and drink. I know it's early but this is so d#$#m frustrating!

Great post whisp,,,,please tell me how it is Ronald is in general pop with the other druggies and we dont hear anything about him getting smacked around....surely, those in there have figured out he has ratted them out...especially WBG,,,just guessing here, but would like those inclined to ,,to discuss how and why he is "safe"...

They don't need RC to testify against Misty about the drugs - she's on tape. And she isn't quite big enough to have forced him to do anything. Misty probably knows as much as RC about who they bought the drugs from, she could have bargained the same info. If he wants to testify against her (and maybe Tommy) concerning Haleigh's case - with disclosure they will know what his claims are. If his claims are false, that gives them a chance to come up with their own stories. If he knew something that they did all of this time and didn't report it - he is guilty of withholding - does he get to negotiate this away too? I'm probably not making sense, I'm still too upset.

You're lucky your cockles only got warmed AZ...mine got charred! Every da#$m photo of him, he looks happy. I told everyone jail was good for him. It is a place where he can shine. Living on the outside was way too stressful for him....having to try to earn a living and all. He needs meds and they make sure he has them. His laundry is done for him and all he has to do is spill bravado all day...it is perfect! Since he can't live alone, where else could be better? I think he likes it there...I'm serious as all get-out. Make the guy even happier, give him all the time he has coming!

In the group arm and arm (yellow brick road) picture,leaving the court house,,, is that Teresa Neves weaing black shorts to court....You know, my dear peeps here at WS,,I heard a long time ago the social class of people had everything to with the amount of media attention a missing child gets, I really didnt believe that at the time,,,but the longer this goes and Haleigh is not found I am beginning to believe it....................People chewing gum , drinking water, wearing shorts,,,what happened to respect to the court system...

Ronald Cummings, the father of missing Putnam County 5-year-old Haleigh Cummings, is set to stand trial on drug-trafficking charges today.

His attorney had hinted back in May that he would take a plea deal on the five charges. But at a hearing in June he only pleaded no contest to two of the charges.

According to Putnam County Court Records, jury selection on the remaining three charges begins Monday morning.

Ron will do anything it takes to be the last one up. He feels the need to hear what the others will say first and he needs to know what sentences Misty and Tommy get so he can plan on just how much information he will give up.
