No leader in the world has tried to negotiate a peace agreement, until Trump took office. Now the US is the bad guy, because we are trying to force a peace agreement. I know many people just like Trump, I see and read the pure hate in black and white. But I am 100% convinced, there will be a peace deal in Ukraine. Everyone will not be happy, everyone will not get what they want, but the war will end.
That statement is completely false. Multiple world leaders and organizations have attempted peace negotiations since Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022. Here are some key examples:
• Istanbul Communiqué (March 2022): Ukraine and Russia held negotiations in Turkey, mediated by Turkish officials, to discuss a potential ceasefire and Ukraine’s security status. These talks ultimately collapsed, partly due to Russian demands and Ukraine’s refusal to accept terms that would compromise its sovereignty.
• African Peace Mission (June 2023): Leaders from South Africa, Egypt, and other African nations attempted to mediate peace talks between Russia and Ukraine, but no breakthrough was reached.
• Pope Francis & The Vatican: The Vatican has repeatedly offered to mediate peace discussions, but no agreement was reached due to Russia’s continued aggression and Ukraine’s rejection of deals that would reward occupation.
• China’s 12-Point Peace Plan (February 2023): China proposed a peace plan, though it was widely seen as favoring Russia and was not accepted by Ukraine or Western allies.
• G7 & European Efforts: Various European leaders, including France’s Macron and Germany’s Scholz, have engaged in diplomacy with both sides in an attempt to find a resolution.
The idea that Trump is the first or only leader to attempt a peace negotiation is pure misinformation. Also, “forcing” a peace deal—especially one that benefits the aggressor—does not mean securing a just or lasting peace. IMO
