- The Russian Ministry of Defense's (MoD) Main Military-Political Directorate Deputy Head and Akhmat Spetsnaz Commander, Major General Apti Alaudinov, described recent Russian deception tactics that may amount to acts of perfidy — a war crime under the Geneva Convention.
Is he actually being critical of their own tactics? I had to read that a few times, as well as look up some info about Apti Alaudinov.
Last year he was described as .... The commander of the Chechen Akhmat battalion, the 51-year-old general-major Apti Alaudinov, is well known in the war chronicles of the past two and a half years as one of the main protagonists of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

He also has a Telegram account with over 300,000 followers, speaks a lot of propaganda.

I had to look up perfidy, as well.
In the context of war, perfidy is a form of deceptive tactic where one side pretends to act in good faith, such as signaling a truce (e.g., raising a white flag), but does so with the deliberate intention of breaking that promise. (Link)
