Security Service of Ukraine Day – a day honoring strong individuals who deliver one of the most important results for Ukraine. During the war, the Security Service has become a combat-ready special service – one of the key elements of our Defense and Security Forces – protecting the country from internal threats and delivering important results both at the front and behind enemy lines.

We are grateful to the Security Service of Ukraine, to each and every one who ensures security for Ukraine in its ranks!

Russia demanded more Ukrainian territory during 12-hour peace talks with the US that appeared to end with no agreements on the table.

Russia does not fully control any of the regions, yet the government sources said the Kremlin hopes Washington will pressure Kyiv to withdraw all its troops from the partially-occupied territories.

I'm so tired of the USA and their best buddy Russia everyday it just keeps getting worse. The USA needs to stay in their own business and out of Ukraine Canada and Greenland. The USA isn't a world leader anymore they are a joke trump has turned USA into a circus . Jmoo

The current negotiations are focusing on the revival of a 2022 grain deal allowing Kyiv to export across the Black Sea, BBC says. A previous agreement brokered by the UN and Türkiye, which Russia exited in 2023, had allowed for maritime shipping in the Black Sea, enabling both countries to export grain.

A revival of the deal would benefit Russia: after its exit, Ukraine managed to establish independent routes for grain exports, free from Russia’s ship inspections, and destroyed a significant part of Russia’s Black Sea fleet. With the deal reinstated, Russia would regain control over inspecting bulk carriers, potentially delaying these checks to reduce export volumes as it did previously. Additionally, the deal could offer safe harbor for Russia’s navy against Ukrainian attacks.

The alarming conclusions of the study indicate that rather than preparing for peace Russia is continuing the training of military specialists on an ever-expanding scale. Within the occupied territories it is forcing Ukrainians to join up, repurposing schools and industrial infrastructure, and integrating the militarization of children into school curricula. Included in this Moscow plans to train more attack drone operators over the next five years than it currently has infantry soldiers.

“This represents a kind of military dogma - forming a new military ideology. Parents have little choice in the matter: either leave the occupied territories or secretly support the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The Russians systematically destroy all means of communication with Ukraine, including satellite dishes, to prevent children from accessing alternative education,” Lysiansky says.

The U.S.-Russia consultations in Riyadh were not followed by a joint statement because of Ukraine's position, Vladimir Chizhov, deputy chairman of Russia's Federation Council Security Committee, claimed on March 25, Interfax reported.

...The U.S. and Ukraine have not publicly commented on the outcomes of the latest rounds of talks this week.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov previously said that the content of the U.S.-Russia negotiations would not be disclosed.

I really can't understand how Americans let trump act like this and treat other countries that were friends like enemy's . The problems trump is creating is unreal yet nothing is done to stop him . He's interfering where he has no business . I can't imagine another free country that would allow their leader to act like this ,countries like North Korea China Russia would though. It's just mind boggling. What started off as tariffs has turned into a bad cartoon like pinky and the brain. Jmvho

I totally get your frustration, and as an American in a deep red state, I feel the same way. A lot of us are watching in horror too, even if it doesn’t seem that way from the outside. The mix of propaganda, misinformation, and grievance politics has created an environment where too many people either support this or feel powerless to stop it. JMO

I don’t blame anyone outside the U.S. for looking at this in disbelief. All I can say is that plenty of us see it too, and we’re just as frustrated and heartbroken. As an American, I’m ashamed of what my country is doing to its allies and the world.

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine:

Ukrainian and American teams worked constructively in Saudi Arabia, achieving significant results in terms of freedom of navigation in the Black Sea and a ceasefire on energy objects.
Ukraine is committed to putting them into action and advancing a fair and lasting peace together with the U.S. and our European allies.
We are grateful to the U.S. for advancing this process and Saudi Arabia for hospitality and facilitation. Unfortunately, we can already see Russia attempting to manipulate and condition agreements on sanctions relief or anything else. But this is only reflected in Russia’s own statements.Russia always lies, but now it will be especially visible for the entire world if Putin will continue to prolong the war.
Ukraine agreed to U.S. proposal of a full 30-day ceasefire back on March 11th. Russia rejected it. We do not trust Russian words, and nobody should. Everyone should focus on Russian actions, not their statements. The coming days will be critical in determining whether Russia is serious about peace or intends to deceive the United States and the world. Pressure is the only cure for Russian lies. Moscow must face appropriate consequences for any manipulation or breach of agreements. We continue to work with our partners to ensure this.

Usually an authoritarian takeover happens gradually, not in six weeks. Americans are gobsmacked. What is happening here is unprecedented. While I understand your frustration and feel it too, I think your criticism of Americans for “letting” this happen, “allowing” their leader to act like this, and “doing nothing” to stop him” shows that you do not understand how the American system of government works…or has until now.

Simply put, the Congress (House and Senate) and Courts are co-equal with the Executive branch of government (the president). They act as a restraint on each other. This only works if each one cooperates with this. We are now faced with a president, a vice president and Elon Musk who don’t care about the constitution and laws, a congress who won’t stand up to him (not that it would do any good), and courts who cannot enforce their decisions and are being threatened, as are law firms. We are now living in an authoritarian country and it will get worse.

The American people are holding large demonstrations all over the country. But Trump doesn’t care. The minute one of these demonstrations turns violent he will use it as an excuse to take away constitutional rights (see Reichstag Fire 1933). He has already violated the constitutional right of due process by sending over 200 unlawful immigrants (who have a right to a court hearing) to a notoriously bad prison in El Salvador, against a judge’s order. He is an evil man, surrounded by evil assistants and an evil cabinet IMO.

So, I ask you…What do you suggest we do? That is a sincere question.

How Russia behaves in the coming days will reveal a lot—if not everything. If there are air raid alerts again, if there is renewed military activity in the Black Sea, if Russian manipulations and threats continue—then new measures will need to be taken, specifically against Moscow.

Diplomacy must work. And from the Ukrainian side, we are doing everything to make that happen.

I thank everyone who is helping. I am grateful to the United States for the constructive and effective work of our teams.

Now, results are needed from Russia. We do not trust them. And frankly—the world doesn’t trust Russia. And they must prove that they are truly ready to end the war—ready to stop lying to the world, to @realDonaldTrump, and to America.

U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance stated that the Trump administration intends to gain control over Greenland and will do whatever it takes to achieve that.

“Denmark, which controls Greenland, is not doing its job and is not a good ally. We need to ask ourselves: ‘How do we solve this problem that affects our national interests?’

And if that means we need the territory of Greenland, then President Trump will get it. He doesn’t care about Europeans yelling at us. He only cares about American national interests,” said J.D. Vance.

Greenland Still Haunts Trump

A U.S. delegation — including Congressman Mike Waltz, the Secretary of Energy, and J.D. Vance’s wife — has landed in Greenland.

They reportedly plan to make the islanders “an offer they can’t refuse.”

Meanwhile, Danish MP Rasmus Jarlov responded to J.D. Vance’s territorial claims against the Kingdom of Denmark:
  • Greenland has been part of Denmark since 1380, and its residents are Danish citizens.
  • Only 6% of Greenlanders prefer the U.S. over Denmark.
  • Not a single elected Greenlandic official supports joining the United States, and the only pro-Trump party received just 1% of the vote.
  • There is no Chinese threat in Greenland — the only concern is growing pressure from the U.S.
  • Denmark will not sell Greenland and will not allow any bribery attempts, despite threats from the U.S.
Thank you for sharing this information @PommyMommy ….. and it is IMO unpleasant to read such statements from elected officials.

Would pose this question to Mr. Vance…… if this is so, is it proposed that the US would pay Denmark (IIUC) for any supposed ‘purchase’ of the territory?

Like was done with France and the Louisiana purchase some years ago, circa 1803?

See attached National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) reference last updated March 1996 entitled ‘"Let the Land rejoice, for you have bought Louisiana for a Song." -- Gen. Horatio Gates to President Thomas Jefferson, July 18, 1803’ on the subject:

I'd really like to know if the Trump administration has been quietly dropping sanctions against Russian oligarchs.

It was mentioned as something they wanted to do several weeks ago, but I have seen nothing about it since then. And I wonder if it has been quietly happening.

British financier Bill Browder has criticized the recent US-Russia agreements, calling them bad news as they may ease sanctions on the aggressor and allow it to continue its terror campaign. In a comment to Sky News, he argued that those welcoming the deal are “missing the point completely.”

“Russia can continue to pound civilian targets like hospitals, schools and apartment buildings and I’m sure they will. And by getting this concession, it saves Russia’s oil refineries, which are one of the key engines of funding for their war,” said Browder.

He emphasized that easing some sanctions on Russia, as outlined in the agreements, is “hardly an appropriate response to a country which has killed tens of thousands of innocent Ukrainians and done a trillion dollars of damage.”

“There’s absolutely nothing to celebrate here,” he added.

Key Takeaways:
  • US, Ukrainian, and Russian officials reached some agreements for temporary ceasefires on strikes against energy infrastructure and in the Black Sea. The details of these ceasefires remain unclear and evaluating the ceasefires’ specifics in the absence of officially published joint texts of the agreements signed by Russia and Ukraine remains difficult.
  • The Kremlin's and Umerov's statements suggest that Russia and Ukraine may not yet be in agreement about whether the ceasefire has gone into effect or not as of March 25.
  • Putin continues to reject Trump's and Zelensky's proposed temporary frontline ceasefire, despite agreeing to some form of ceasefire for strikes on energy infrastructure and in the Black Sea. Putin’s persistent stalling and intransigence are inhibiting Trump's efforts to secure a lasting and stable peace settlement.
  • The Kremlin stated that it will not implement the agreed ceasefire in the Black Sea until the United States lifts sanctions on Russian state-owned agricultural bank Rosselkhozbank and other unspecified financial organizations involved in international food and fertilizer trade.
  • Russian forces recently advanced in the Kursk-Sumy Oblast border area, near Toretsk, and in western Zaporizhia Oblast.
  • The Russian military continues to deny rotations to soldiers who have been fighting in the war in Ukraine for years.
