If they're getting MODified, then they must not be reliable or suitable for being recommended as sources of info. IMO if they're not allowed here, they may be good for people interested in the case, yet not even close to good for young people who should get good quality info and not too much of morbid crazyness that surrounds this case.

There's a really good book called "Dead Mountain" that came out a few years ago about this. It's a fairly simple, quick read.

Its probably best to know what you are talking about before you make judgments like this.

I wonder what evidence they had that the tent was cut from the inside? If it was an avalanche, they could have all escaped from the front. Then they might have gone back to the tent for supplies and found the front entrance buried in snow, so had to cut the side from the outside to get access. JMO.

They can tell by the fibers which way a slash has been made. A tailer that made clothes for the military made that determination

I just read the book. It is good, part of the story is the author doing research. His belief is that it It came out a while ago and he believes that infrared sound waves in a wind tunnel scared the hikers and made them run from the tent, there are ways that sound can produce that response. The most recent accouonting that I have read used similated snow to demonstrate that there was a slab avalanche that caused the hikers to leave the tent. That made the most sense to me.

It's in the book Dead Mountain by Donnie Eichar. The determination was made by a tailor who worked making military uniforms so she would have very familiar with those kind of fabric. There is a description of what the fibers looked like and what they would have looked like if they were cut the other way. Also it is pretty much agreed that the hikers ran from the tent so it makes a lot more sense that the cut was made from the inside.
 
I watched several movies made about it. I shall try to organize the theories. It was very interesting to listen to a pathologist interpreting old PMs.
 
Maybe the three with the crushed injuries were all skiing together and ran into trees. Lots of skiers get injured by skiing into trees, especially if zipping along at 40 mph or so. The other skiers found them and made camp there to try to keep them warm until rescue. THEN an avalanche came through their tent trapping them and they had to cut their way out. After a few days, they were starving and started to eat/cannibalize their dead friends. The tongue, the knuckle, the eyes. These are small parts that could be removed without a knife, which most people do not take with them while skiing. The survivors eventually froze to death themselves. Sad story.
