I don't have any idea, actually, but maybe it has something to do with victory over mental illness that his mother had, IF it turns out JMK is even involved? Someone at another forum says he's a doctor and that JMK has DYSTROPHIA MYOTONICA, hereditary. (Someone else at another forum named something else, which was one word.) So I'm thinking that may be what his mother died from, about a decade after she'd tried to set JMK on fire when he was 2, to get rid of his demons. Sounds like "postpartem depression", doesn't it, not that I personally believe Andrea Yates was that bad off, but that's a different story.

Don't know if JMK"s mom was diagnosed, guess so, in a mental hospital by the time he was 12.

He's always objecting when anyone wants to talk about his being mentally ill, notice. Is he thinking he'll get victory over that? I can't think of an acronym at the moment for that.

Maybe the RN was dictated to him if it turns out he wrote it, because it contains apparent resentment of John Ramsey's worldly success, some poor people in religion view suspiciously, but in his ramblings that we see, there's none of that, just "love" of little girls and the president, for a reason, evidently, considering his position now. What would the president have to do with it? He knows someone who's been to foreign countries who's actually anti-American and maybe had something to do with all the assassinations?
Just guessing, obviously.

My speculation on the word Victory:

If and it's a big if at this point, JMK killed Jonbenet the word Victory stood out to me almost more than the S.B.T.C. because in the school year book he wrote Maybe I shall be the conquerer.

The word Maybe and then the word Victory. But, then again, wouldnt the initials have changed to imply that he has become the conquerer instead of Shall Be The Conquerer?

But realistically speaking, Patsy and John Ramsey are (and were) intelligent people. Why on Earth would either one of them put the exact amount in a ransom note if they wanted to throw off police? That would make no sense at all. It would be more likely that someone would do that in order to frame the parents, IMO. Additionally, while there are startling similarities between the ransom note and Patsy's writing, you can see that the writing is very shaky. Is that because of adrenalin, fear, or was someone trying to copy Patsy's writing in an additional attempt to frame her, (someone that likes to play with different writing styles, for instance - someone whose writing often varies within single words)?

I notice about the ransom note that the person seems resentful towards JR. It could be a facade, it could be just anger in general, but I think that if an intruder did this, they enjoyed doing it in terms of inflicting pain on JR and belittling him and controlling him. For example, what's with the line about the two guys that are watching over JB not being too fond of him? Just plain weird. In any case, if you hate someone AND you're a pedophile AND you're completely sick in the head, what better way to get back at someone than to use their child for your own purposes and then set it up to look like the parents did it?

Anyway, FWIW, as a believer in the Ramseys innocence, I can indeed see distinct similarities between her writing and the ransom note. But I can't see her writing a practice note and then leaving it to be found, using her own notepad, using her own writing, and asking for the exact amount of her husband's bonus as the ransom. That would be idiotic.

Was the bonus $118,000, btw? Someone said last night that the bonus was AROUND that amount. I don't recall.
IMO the ransom amount of $118,000 was chosen for the very reason that it was the amount of John's bonus. I think in the original cover up plan this was done to implicate someone at Access Graphics as the kidnapper. I think the murder was committed by a group of pedophiles and the kidnap scenario to cover this up was FW's idea. I think he forced Patsy to write the note and gave her the instructions as to what to write at the beginning of the note including what to put as the ransom amount. She then was left to finish it and that is where the resentment and anger towards John began to show up.

You should!
Oh my God - incredible!!! Wow! This is a must-read for anyone discussing the ransom note. I almost fell out of my chair. No wonder that Chet Ubowski and others concluded that Patsy wrote the note.
Thanks Dave for posting the link. Like you said on another forum: "if this doesn't do it, nothing will. I couldn't agree more!

"1) Since nobody really knows the amount of John Ramsey's 1996 bonus, how could you check the amount?

2) Where did you check the amount?

3) How much was JR's 1996 bonus?

I'm just wondering because Candice DeLong stressed the word MUCH when she said Ramsey received "much more than $118,0000"."

Well, I checked the same stuff you folks did. Not only that, but last night on "Crier," she said that even the PIs say that he got a sum of $118,000, give or take.

"I think in the original cover up plan this was done to implicate someone at Access Graphics as the kidnapper."

That we agree on!

"Wow! This is a must-read for anyone discussing the ransom note. I almost fell out of my chair. No wonder that Chet Ubowski and others concluded that Patsy wrote the note."

Yep! When I hear this guy Baggett wheezing his statement, all I can think of is Richard Pryor: "Who you gonna believe? Me, or your own eyes?"

Sorry, I don't know of any others.

An interesting thing about the L&L kidnapping is that they called the day after EVEN THOUGH Bobby Franks body had already been found.

One might wonder, why hide the body in the winecellar if the kidnapper didn't even had any hopes that it would not be discovered and atleast make a try for the money?
Well, I didn't know about the movie references either:

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20060824/ap_on_re_us/jonbenet_ramsey_ransom_note

....
The note is too wordy for the real thing, McClish says, and it's unlikely that kidnappers, even if they were from another country, would call themselves a "small foreign faction" or take the time to tell John Ramsey "we respect your business."

What can be learned, he said, is from what he calls subconscious references. The threat of beheading JonBenet in the note, a violent and uncommon threat, indicates a man was involved. Same goes for references some say are straight from Hollywood: The repeated threats that the "girl dies" are from "Dirty Harry," while the phrase "Don't try to grow a brain" is from the film "Speed."

John Ramsey speaking: "I also recognized that larger, better-financed companies were growing around us. Even though we were doing fine, I was afraid that unless we expanded, our company would soon be Swallowed By The Competition."
OMG! That makes a lot more sense than the musings in JMK's yearbook which wouldn't follow along with the anti-John Ramsey sentiment of the note, especially the last page.

Some further SBTC speculations, off the top of my head:

Etc, etc...
She Bore The Cross.
Sent Back To Christ.
Strange But True Christmas
Small Business Tax Cuts.
Southern Bell Telephone Company.
Southern Business Travel Coalition.
Southern Baptist Theological College.

I think it's just a meaningless string of random letters put together to throw off investigators.

Thanks for the link:blowkiss:

I also thought of this one:

Santa brings the coal.

But I dont think the rn writter was thinking of xmas.

Karr definately wrote that note. I'm not a handwriting expert, but I am an artist who has been doing photo realistic paintings for a living. I've won many awards and have had superior skills since kindergarden. I pay very close attention to detail and believe I can see things very clearly. Everything about the note looks like Karr. I've read handwriting analysis is an art and the analysis is only as good as the persons skills or "artistic eye" in interpreting it.

Thanking you again for the timeline.

Big point stuck out:

For anyone who wants to think its a foreign faction:

1996-12-25 (-Slightly Brilliant Theatre Company Dublin-) John Ramsey opened garage with automatic door opener on way home (DOI pg 8)

No problem, and I noticed the same thing. No mention of closing the door. I've thought about this, and I end up thinking that if the garage door was open when people started arriving that someone would have noticed and asked about it.

Any intruder could have gotten in through that open door even if JR closed it after he parked the car. Let me back up on that. Whose car did PR and son use to delivery gift baskets? Was the car being put in and out of the garage during that? More opportunity for killer to get in.

Another observation: the writter of the rn didn't use any contractions. NONE

Correct grammar for a classroom essay #6 Never use contractions

John Karr did not write the ransom note. There are a few similar things but nowhere near as many as PR. In fact, PR's is almost identical not just the way letters are wriiten but the way the acutal words themselves were written.

Just look here on Page 2 and 3 and it matches PR perfectly.
