Were did you get this information from ?
It's at the bottom of the picture (adsbexchange)

POL31 has been of the radar for approx. 15 minutes now - which indicates it is LOW. It may have landed or it is sweeping the area at a low altitude.

EDIT: last known position

Motive- financial
Means / opportunity- routine run, semi rural area, most inane part of a day - when least expected
Who stands to benefit? Cui bono
I've no doubt a forensic accountant will be going through records. A basic ABN/ ASIC search has yielded information that they'll be questioning.
Professional criminals mostly leave women out of it here.

p

perhaps you could suggest a reason why a 'hit" would be made on a 51 year old mother of 3
I'm not going to suggest that because as I stated I'm not entertaining the theory in this reply regarding a hit person and SM having any substance as a theory, I'm discussing the fact it was said country towns don't have that kind of stuff going on which imo is not true.

I wonder if this search is due to 'the ping' or from subsequent dashcam footage, or both?

Currently there is a VPol chopper doing circuits in the Woowookarung forest in the vicinity of the Mt Clear college on Olympic Ave … no idea if it’s related to the search for Sam.

The top part of the map highlight is the area of bush where police and emergency services are searching, and further down is highlighted where the phone tower is located

Interesting, that’s about 6km through trails from her house. Lines up with the 10-14km return run that has been mentioned.
...
My first post.

The main trail through there can take vehicle traffic. It is an unsealed track like road, but surprisingly can be viewed with Google's street view. Vehicle traffic is probably mostly for sight seeing and picnics, as there are main roads that can much more easily get to the other sides of these trails i.e not much thru traffic. They would be ideal for walks and running, as it seems SM has been taking advantage of each day.

I think it is a likely possibility she was kidnapped by someone driving through this trail as vehicle traffic would likely be very quite, particularly at this time in the morning, and would have better opportunity to bundle her into a boot (trunk for some countries) and no one to here her screams. It could be opportunistic, but I think more likely her routine via this track was know to the perpetrator.

My opinion on water bottles is that it is a red herring. It is not in the remote Australian dessert areas. If it was me I would take water (for a short period like this) when going through bush areas that are a bit quite only for the reason it might take a while for help to come if having an accident along the way like a sprained ankle. Everyone will have there personal choice of taking water for a run and there is nothing in it if they do not.

One thing that I think a lot of people have ran with from media reports is that it’s suspicious. No where have I seen police actually state this yet. They just said it could be suspicious. Two different things.
The phone pinged 11 km from her house, not 6.

Keep the news coming please. I found the site but can't make it work for me yet.

What do you base this on? Any evidentiary support?
There's very few, off the top of my head that we hear about, maybe once in the 60s and once not too long ago in Sydney where her hairdresser was in the car too. Two women shot dead in south-west Sydney 'assassination'
Like the article says, it's an unwritten rule.

There's a study here: Australian Institute of Criminology - Research and Public Policy Series No 53 "Contract Killings in Australia"

From the study:
Only 4 completed contract killings were of female victims, none of the solicitors or targets in 'drug crime' category were female... though about a third of targets overall were women, presumably mainly in the 'dissolution of relationship' category.

Following this case closely as a born n bred Ballaratian, relative worked at same panel beaters many moons ago (different owners and location back then). Still remember not being 10yo and hearing about the murder of Kathleen Severino. Have been many more since then (Tracey Howard, Belinda Williams, Nina Nicholson etc). If there has been a third party admirer/friend who got a bit full-on, that could explain AVO/possible stalking/abduction. I just looked up distance from Sam's to the reservoirs I grew up near, only 6km. They are also a very short distance to the highway leading to Melbourne. I myself was followed as a school girl a couple of times along country roads near Bushland, well before mobile phones and CCTV. Also, I did wonder about that couple who supposedly saw Sam on the Saturday, his watch also "went missing" and pinged near where Sam's did (will try work out how to link articles), hopefully they've been thoroughly questioned/looked into as that seemed strange occurrence to me.

POL31 heading back to Essendon

It was of the radar for over an hour. I am confident it landed due to fuel loading and total flight time. It still has some distance to fly - so fuel obviously isn't an issue otherwise it would have flown to Ballarat for a quick refuel.
