My first post.

The main trail through there can take vehicle traffic. It is an unsealed track like road, but surprisingly can be viewed with Google's street view. Vehicle traffic is probably mostly for sight seeing and picnics, as there are main roads that can much more easily get to the other sides of these trails i.e not much thru traffic. They would be ideal for walks and running, as it seems SM has been taking advantage of each day.

I think it is a likely possibility she was kidnapped by someone driving through this trail as vehicle traffic would likely be very quite, particularly at this time in the morning, and would have better opportunity to bundle her into a boot (trunk for some countries) and no one to here her screams. It could be opportunistic, but I think more likely her routine via this track was know to the perpetrator.

My opinion on water bottles is that it is a red herring. It is not in the remote Australian dessert areas. If it was me I would take water (for a short period like this) when going through bush areas that are a bit quite only for the reason it might take a while for help to come if having an accident along the way like a sprained ankle. Everyone will have there personal choice of taking water for a run and there is nothing in it if they do not.
100% on board with this Hats. Kidnap or I think more likely accident and cover up, someone driving fast through the trails, either joyriding in a stolen car taking it to burn. We’ve heard it’s a common resting place for stolen cars.

There's a specialty mountain bike track in that area.
Yes , quite familiar with it .
Following this case closely as a born n bred Ballaratian, relative worked at same panel beaters many moons ago (different owners and location back then). Still remember not being 10yo and hearing about the murder of Kathleen Severino. Have been many more since then (Tracey Howard, Belinda Williams, Nina Nicholson etc). If there has been a third party admirer/friend who got a bit full-on, that could explain AVO/possible stalking/abduction. I just looked up distance from Sam's to the reservoirs I grew up near, only 6km. They are also a very short distance to the highway leading to Melbourne. I myself was followed as a school girl a couple of times along country roads near Bushland, well before mobile phones and CCTV. Also, I did wonder about that couple who supposedly saw Sam on the Saturday, his watch also "went missing" and pinged near where Sam's did (will try work out how to link articles), hopefully they've been thoroughly questioned/looked into as that seemed strange occurrence to me.
Yes that was Les Kennedy biz in Main Rd .
I have had Bec tell me she and her partner ( who lost his watch) came back to Ballarat last weekend to make a statement to Vic Pol at Dana st … disappointingly the sgt was not interested .
They felt extremely undervalued and frustrated .

Did she say when he missed his watch?

"Michael also lost his Apple Watch and Ms Agheli said she had been told by police it last pinged in a similar area to where Ms Murphy's phone had also pinged in the nearby suburb of Buninyong."
(From Daily Mail article)

I understand the aircraft map, I have it open & tracked the vpol chopper. I reckon the question was more wondering if anyone knows if Police & other services are currently on the ground in parrallel with aircrew?

Probably not interested as they know who is responsible, and are just waiting quietly for enough evidence.

POL31 back at Essendon.

Motive- financial
Means / opportunity- routine run, semi rural area, most inane part of a day - when least expected
Who stands to benefit? Cui bono
I've no doubt a forensic accountant will be going through records. A basic ABN/ ASIC search has yielded information that they'll be questioning.
We still don't know about the personal side of the family and business. The police would have everyone under notice, until there is concrete evidence and they find her. Was it a happy marriage, were there any AVOs. Were any threats made on the business, including relatives etc. Did she have a medical episode in the bush ? But you would think the police would have found her by now If that was the case. The police were after any CCTV and dash cam between 7am and 7pm, even if Samantha wasn't in it. It is strange that no one has seen her out jogging that morning, as there would have been people around

I was aware of him losing his watch ( probably learned that from the now pulled down ‘find Samantha Murphy ‘ fb group, but I’ve gone right thru my conversations with Bec and there’s no reference to that .
The woman she saw jogging and exchanged greeting with at the Lookout on Sat 3 had black leggings and a pink top and she was adjusting her pink banded sports watch , was not wearing headwear .
Three other women on foot happened by soon after .

As detailed back on this thread, that tower was the only one pinging that day as several others were not working. So I don't think too much can be read into the ping.... everyone would have been pinging off that tower. Must be a nightmare for police for location purposes. Moo

I think it’s time MM did another press conference, if he’s not begging the police to let him do one , people will be asking why.
The family have gone very quiet, seems unfair to let a presumably old uncle and aunt front up.
If MM won’t do one, doesnt he or SM have siblings who could step up?

Might be one or two. Russians, like Australians turn up anywhere!!!! It was a soldier settlement town , sort of, an outlying suburb of Ballarat, men who came back from the first world war, who were granted land to clear and farm... .now it's suburban, mainly, Lots of Crimean town names around AU, Inkerman, Alma, Balaklava etc because of 1914 , 1918... .
My understanding is that the town was originally named Bonshaw but was renamed Sebastopol during the Crimean War in 1855. The fall of Sebastopol in Crimea was a significant win for the British and Ottomans against the Russian Empire, and since Ballarat and surrounding areas had seen a sudden influx of British migrants during the gold rush, they renamed the town in commemoration.

There is nothing nicer than being corrected when one is somewhat off the mark. Good on yer, pal. I was only 64 years out!
