He can't comment on whether anyone saw Sam in the forest.

Presser over.

Can't watch this one, reporters are so obviously focussed on only one scenario, and asking questions that, obviously, the police aren't going to answer.

Totally, I had to stop.
It infuriates me, they ask these questions when they know they can't be answered!!!! Ugh

Just watched the press conference

here's the link

Samantha's home has been searched to a "certain extent".

They have looked at some vehicles, none seized.
I found the police officers facial expression when this question was asked interesting. His reaction was different compared to other questions IMO

Samantha’s husband is not a suspect but everyone in her life is a POI…

Make what you will of that comment

Where are you Sam ? :(

why not? if the next question was 'who" then he could have said "can't comment".

When they say she reached the Mt.Clear area, was that part of her normal route, or would it be an area that most people would avoid.

Perhaps he was trying to prevent himself from rolling his eyes.

Now we need ABC to upload that presser, so we can watch it again and catch everything we missed in the live broadcast.

Oh, thanks @Black-Cat. Looks like your link will replay it.

Does that mean we can speculate on people in her life/business? If they're all POIs... Or do they need to specifically be named?

They believe she would have reached Mt Clear about an hour after she left home.

About 7km away.

What they are looking for today are "smaller items" that might tell them what happened to Samantha.
Does that mean - she was walking rather than running - if it took 1 hour to reach the site - 7km away? Trying to work this out? MOO

Isn't it strange?
I've always thought that Police officers are "poker faced"

He said “He is not a suspect … at this stage”

Not that he has been ruled out as a suspect

IMO, so as not to reveal to the perp what evidence they have in any form.

IMO, catching and prosecuting criminals takes priority over satisfying public curiosity.

So if there was damage to a vehicle - then they didn't see this car on CCTV with the damage then???

Maybe they have the car on CCTV going towards this area but not of it coming out? with the damage??? MOO

Somebody visiting someone who lives in this remote area?? MOO

What we need is one of those body language experts have a look at the press conference. :)

I think they need to be named. imo

We do not sleuth people who have not been named by LE as suspects or POI's. Any exceptions must be approved through the mods/admin.
