The above link was posted 01 May 2012. It has a video.

"Zinah is sleepy. She is light luster," (note: lackluster is what IMHO he intended to say) said Pride describing his client who is in the Richland County jail and is pregnant. "I think she's a little depressed. She certainly is showing signs of anxiety from her confinement and stress from her pregnancy.

I missed that she had been diagnosed with a mental illness? Anyone know offhand what it was? Her attn says she's on meds ordered by the court. TIA! ETA: she was diagnosed with severe depression.

article dated 09 May 2012.

I had read the second link I posted above last night (for me it was early morning for the rest of the USA) and I had to think on it before I commented because to be honest I had to reach deep and find compassion for Gma.

I do have compassion for those that suffer mental illnesses. I haven't judged Zinah by the behaviors she exhibited prior Amir "going missing".

However, the article sat wrong with me and that is why I had to think on it before commenting. Gma needs to take the focus off how the general public is seeing her family (which I believe was the driving force behind this artcle, to make sure her family is viewed as a good upstanding family by the general public) and focus on giving interviews begging people to find Amir if indeed she believes Zinah dropped him off somewhere.

Zinah's upbringing, her schooling, how many proms she went to, Zinah's deceased Father's profession---etc---and on and on and on are irrelevant and completely immaterial to the heart of the matter.

The heart of the matter is that Amir, an 18 month old baby is either endangered or deceased. Of those two IMHO he is probably the latter.

Zinah is sitting in jail safe and sound, getting three squares and court ordered meds and prenatal care.

Let's keep the focus of the interviews where they need to be---on Amir.

(sorry for the rant, but you should have heard what I was thinking last night yikes)

JMHO.

Where is that beautiful baby boy Amir?

It scares me to think about what might have happened to him....the defenseless baby of a mentally ill teen-aged mother.

she wants the case nixed (goodluck with that)

A judge should throw out an indictment against the mother of a missing South Carolina toddler because prosecutors don't have enough evidence to prove their case and are only holding Zinah Jennings because she won't tell them where her son is, the woman's attorney said Thursday.

"You can't weigh the rights of a defendant against the rights of a missing child," Jennings' attorney, Hemphill Pride II, said in court. "The entire holding of Zinah Jennings in this case is a mere pretext."

Judge G. Thomas Cooper gave prosecutors until Monday to make their argument to keep the charge against Jennings.
