This was such a booming thread there for a few days. Let's get back to business and not worry about why it was interrupted.

We had lots of great conversations going and bouncing back and forth of information....please don't let that stop!

BD needs all of us fighting for her!

There are several groups that do weekly horseback rides in Garden City Beach with tourists--all year. (You can't ride horses on the beach in Surfside, so they come down to GCB.) I would call one of the rental agencies, like Dunes or Garden City Realty and ask for the names of those groups that do the guided daytrips. They are locals and used to the environment in the area.

No, no one has written me. This is a load of you know what.

I just starting digging in to find out what is going on. My first question is why did sawdbuck get a warning email? This is just stupid amd it makes me mad that now we are going to have to waste time trying to figure this out.

Tricia at one point Sawbuck said he/or she got an message to remove last paragraph in a post where he had names Debbie you should remember it's when they named you and some others.

I've got a couple of questions for any of you local MB people...

If you travel 2 hours out of MB going south on 17, where would you end up?

If you travel 2 1/2 hours out of MB going south on 17, where would you end up?

There's a method to my madness...and if I get this figured out I will share it with everyone. I've got a theory I'm working on...and bouncing it off of several people to see if it makes sense.

I'm having trouble in finding a reference to something and would appreciate if someone can give me a hand.

Seems to me I remember something being said about BD's cell phone traveling inland (to the west) for a ways and then coming back east toward the coast in or near McClellanville.

Was this something that was documented in a news article or was this speculation by someone.

Does anyone remember this?

If my memory is correct it was in a news article. I'm at least 98% sure. But someone may be 100% sure

I agree. I think reference to this news article can be found in the BD #1 or #2 thread. IIRC it was documented by investigators after review of cell phone records. I'll see if I can find the article.

EDIT TO ADD: I think this is one article that might help you MBLover -

Cell phone technology used in search for missing teen

This was a post by SuziQ back in the #1 Brittanee thread, pg. 20, post #494.

Hope this helps.

Autumn - I'm glad someone else remembers this specific info. While Nandee's article was of great help... I'm still looking for that article that states her phone went inland a ways before coming back east.

In looking at the google maps, I'm wondering if that reference to going inland was where 17 does veer back west a little ways coming into Georgetown and then comes back more parallel to the coast getting down into McClellanville.

Or was the cell ping more inland than that...

If BD's last text to JO was at 8:45, but she texted JG at 9:15 - where was she for that time period of 30 minutes and why did whoever that had her allow her to be texting with JG - if this person was a threat or was going to do harm to her...

Certainly within 30 minutes she should have been nearing the BH. I think the shape BD was in she should have been able to walk a mile in 30 min. give or take.

For her not to show up on the street cam she was either 1) in a car 2) or she had taken to walking on the beach 3) or she had made a stop at another hotel...

I still have my qualms about this being BD doing the texting. Within that 30 min. anyone could have scrolled thru her text messages and picked up on how she texted - which would be about like every other teen who texts...

Could it be possible the perp made her text these messages to buy time? Or had nothing really happened...yet...she wasn't feeling threatened and continued on with her conversation with JG?

If BD was gone off the street within that 7 minutes - and she was under any kind of duress how could she have carried on a "normal" text conversation with anyone?

Search for Drexel to Focus on Cell Phone Tower
By: Amy Young

Edited to add the source: http://rochester.ynn.com

Brittanee Drexel's cell phone will be the focus of a search Saturday in South Carolina by volunteers who hold out hope that Drexel will be found alive.

The teen went missing in April while on Spring Break in Myrtle Beach.

Brittanee's father Chad is joining members of the CUE Center in their latest search for Drexel.

They will focus their search around a specific cell phone tower where authorities say Drexel's phone showed signs of some sort of signal for one minute.

"Her phone went dead for 24, 24 hours and 59 minutes. But for one minute, that phone pinged itself enough for the battery to recharge itself for that amount of time and ping this tower that we're all going to be searching around," Chad Drexel said.

Chad arrived in South Carolina with his sister Friday, where he will stay until Sunday.

This article says a lot of things that we have heard but the last part was at least a little encouraging to know how the MBPD say they are still getting leads. Here is part of it:

Drexel was 17 years old when she went missing. She turned 18 on October 7th

According to the CUE Center, police are not giving up the search. Myrtle Beach Police Cpl. Vincent Dorio told the center the case is being investigated daily and that leads come in weekly.

"We're still actively going over every lead, reevaluating everything we've done to date to see if we've possibly missed something. It's still an active investigation," Cpl. Dorio told the CUE Center.

Myrtle Beach P.D. say finding Drexel's cell phone is a top goal. They still believe Drexel was abducted. "She's been missing this long. I was hoping to have discovered she was a runaway, but it doesn't look like that," Dorio said Wednesday afternoon

Can I please impose on you folks... Some of you may think this weird, some may not. In whatever your faith may be, please say some kind of prayer for BD and those searching for her - even down to the horses.

Please also ask that some kind of evidence leading to BD will be found so that BD may be found.

And please ask to make BD's cell phone stand out so that someone may find it.

Not imposing at all.. already was praying for this. Sad as it is I just hope to see closure for the family and the perp be caught and punished for their crime. I'm glad to see CD went to MB.
