I'm so happy Britt's thread is getting all the attention it deserves. She got pushed to page 3 and 4 of the forums too often I'm also so happy to hear that her case will be covered again on Jane and Nancy. They spend too much time harping on Caylee and Haleigh. It's tragic what happened to both beautiful little girls, but it's no longer breaking news that Caylee has been found, Nancy.

Still praying for Britt.

I've been thinking about LE's statement that they're waiting for that last piece of evidence to prove that a crime occurred.

I wonder if this means they have the whole story (based on statements that they "are confident the know what happened to Drexel," but have yet to see anything criminal yet. I can't imagine what the scenario would be, but if they said that line, then it seems like it could be the case.

I am thinking some of what they said (that the persons of interest knew what happened to her) as well as other circumstantial evidence is just shy of "enough". In other words they need that last piece of the puzzle to tie it all together (that was my lay person interpretation anyway LOL)

Investigators looking for ‘key’ piece of evidence in Brittanee Drexel case
GEORGETOWN—Lt. Neil Johnson with the Georgetown County Sherriff’s Office says investigators are looking for a key piece of evidence to establish probable cause to obtain arrest warrants in the Brittanee Drexel case. He says 3 or 4 “persons of interest” have been identified in the case.

Drexel went missing April 25, 2009 while on spring break in Myrtle Beach.

Lieutenant Neil Johnson with the Georgetown county Sherriff’s office says based on information investigators have received, they do not feel like Drexel is alive.

Wait... so it sounds like they are looking for an "object?"
It doesn't seem to be a body, because obviously POIs and every one else know they are looking for that.

Search for Brittanee Drexel to continue; police say arrests are possible


The search for a missing New York teen last seen nearly a year ago in Myrtle Beach will continue, as police say they are close to making an arrest in the case.

Brittanee Drexel was last seen April 25, 2009, leaving the Blue Water Hotel on Ocean Boulevard while on spring break in the area.

Dozens of searchers have scoured Myrtle Beach and wooded areas in Georgetown and Charleston counties looking for clues in the teen’s disappearance.

Drexel Family is postponing Brittanee's event in Rochester due to them going to Myrtle Beach SC to be Britt's voice and to have people still out searching for her!!!They have no body or remains to say my daughter is not alive. I was this close to going to New York's Missing Person's Day on Sunday. I would have had the opportunity to meet the whole Drexel family. I don't know what I would have said The news had just broken! I'm "friends" with them on FB, but nothing more.

Alas, I had to work Sunday and I didn't know of the event until Friday. I can't believe it was only 15 miles from my house, though. I really wish I could have attended! Was anyone there?

Hi Everyone. Long time reader, first time poster. I've been reading this board almost since day 1 and have come to appreciate and rely on all of you for info and insight. After last weeks' news stories, I finally felt the need to post my thoughts.

I really and truly believe that the reason MBLE came out with the stuff last week has more to do with MLatta and his FOIL request and the fact that he as well as others are planning to hit the beach over the next few weeks with posters/fliers as well as the planned event and vigil in MB on the 24th. Call me cynical, but I really think that LE down there does not want this missing girl publicized during the high tourist season of Spring Break. Saying she is no longer "missing" but now a "homicide." What? Since when? Don't you think a statement like that deserves some answers?

Dawn gave an interview on Roc radio 96.5 WCMF this morning (I'd post the link but not sure how, sorry!), and she said that this is not a homicide investigation and she wants everyone to still be looking for Brit. She also said that Monica at CUE has searched LEs place of interest many times, and recently, and they found nothing. She was asked point blank if she had faith in MBLE and she said yes, but she also said that LE would not release the info they had to their private investigators. Also, the fact that they said all this stuff Friday without a press conference or even letting DD know they were telling the media anything is kinda weird, dontcha think? Why? Why release this kind of info last week? To ferret someone out? I don't know if I buy that or not. It was also heartbreaking when DD said that her other daughter heard all this from media, and not from her, and she had to tell her that LE did not tell DD that it was now a homicide. ANd if she had news like that she would sit her down and talk to her. Bad choice of words on LEs part? Poor reporting by media? IDK.

Also, the fact that DD has canx the plans for the event here in Rochester to instead go down to MB to continue looking for Brit says alot to me (as of this morning's interview the event here with DD was still on).

IDK, but something here doesn't sound right.....of course this is JMHO.
