One article that I just read said that LE got a good tip in early December that led them to a particular location, and then they said that following that tip they received more which led them to the POIs. I wonder if it can be inferred that the POIs have a special tie to the particular location they are focusing on.

Hypothetically speaking, if someone says they are focusing on 123 Sesame Street, people are going to call in to report Big Bird, Elmo, and the gang, because they know they're the ones who live there.

Something smaller scale, more secretive, and not so "fictional" of course. But a similar idea?

Hmmmm......makes me think of the barn that was rumored searched back in Jan.

Is anyone else's margins 'blowing out' when you hit the thanks button or it just my pc. thx

I am so happy LE is finally making progress in Brittanee's disappearance. I find the number of POI's quite surprising. The fact that 3, possably 4 people were able to keep this a secret for this long is quite alarming, especially considering how young they sound to be.

I had pegged this as an older male, one-person abduction. Now that multiple POI's have been identified, I only find myself with more questions. How did it get to this point? Why were there so many willing participants? How could no one stop or report the crime?

I'm just at a loss for words.....

Could have been younger kids hanging with an older person. There are followers and there are leaders. Throw in "pack mentality", booze and drugs and anything could happen.

That's exactly what I thought when I read 3-4 POI's, lonetraveler.

OT It is good reading you again. I've missed you lately.

They could be family. Brothers and/or cousins (not to Brit of course but to each other). Really makes me not want to think about Brittanee's final hours. Just awful.

Good lord....I'm not gonna make excuses...I'm just not *bright* enough to figure out what LE is telling me in the new article. Here's what I **THINK** he's saying. Don't laugh!!

I THINK that they have 3 firm suspects...3 people who CAN easily be tied to this case and that night. I think the 4th person isn't as forthcoming, and that they are trying to secure more evidence before he knows that he's being watched/suspected.

I think it is VERY strange that this article REPEATEDLY mentions 'key' evidence. The Lt. says 'key' in the same 2 sentences about 3 times. Perhaps this article isn't for us at all, but for the 4th person. A person who LE believes has Brittanee's hotel room 'key'. Could LE be tipping him off...trying to freak him out with all of the 'key' references? Maybe the other boys said that they had seen the key in his posession!?!?

Sorry I was a away for a bit. What I mean't about the article is, I think the police have realized the guys are not ready to confess yet and go to jail for the rest of their lives. They are looking for a key piece of evidence, but at the same time in the last paragraph they are asking for.. parents, siblings, friends, more mature people to come forward and convince the guys to confess, that the game is unfortunately over for them.

If they can't find the key piece of evidence a confession would be just as good. This is probably why the news has gone mainstream, to really intensify the pressure on the guys and it will only get worse for them, once their names get out in the media. PB couldn't walk a block at home just as a suspect, imagine what it will be like for these guys once they are named, considering the police said they "know" what happened to her. Game is over boys. Sooner or later your names are gonna be out.

Krista, You are very observant! I didn't notice that at all. The 'key' references are very strange aren't they? LE sounds confident that an arrest is imminent. IMO, they could be waiting for confirmation about something regarding the perp. Could he have lost keys and had new ones made?

We won't laugh at you here, Krista. I enjoy your posts. As you can see from my above post, my imagination is running wild with scenarios and possibilites.

All MOO

Brittanee's hotel room key? She had to have one on her.

  • #331
With BD having a hotel room key on her...maybe this is one reason why JO/AL/PO did not return to the room that night. They knew someone had BD and someone had the key to their room...

It is a possibility that the perp(s) have her hotel key but I doubt that is what LE is looking for.

During spring break, hotels usually have a limit on how many people can stay in one room. I think it's generally around 4 occupants. Of course, more than 4 usually stay in one room during spring break, but only 4 "check-in" and get keys.

This brings up a good point, did she have a key?

In any event, my guess would be if the perp(s) had her key, they destroyed it long ago.

With all of the media attention, if the perp(s) did keep a "souvenir", perhaps it's been flushed or burned by now?

Maybe...but even John Wayne Gacy kept his 'souvenirs' under his house in the crawl space...denying responsibility to the end. Just sayin'..people keep stuff.

Or they thought they had it secure but someone saw something by accident. Remember, the guys had access to all of her belongings.

Can you elaborate?
