I've been checking the other forum, too, in hopes of finally seeing the words stating that she has been taken into custody. I think quite a few posters over there think that she has been posting on those boards, at times. Wouldn't shock me, if she did...

A friend or two, reportedly former friends now, were posting as well, although they seem to have stopped for the time being.

edited to add: Has anyone thought of doing a timeline with details of this case? Something we can compare with the evidence as it gets released?

Greetings, KatK and everyone else! Yep, I have been busy lately....really busy. :boohoo: I haven't forgotten any of the cases that haunt me in my sleep, and this is definitely one of them. I do check in and read the greenvilleonline forum, but they are just as frustrated with no news. I will try and work on a timeline. It would be helpful to see the facts as we know them placed in a definite order.

Apparently the concern over Devon Epps' murder, and the speculation that it was his mother's hand who caused it provides said mother with amusement.

A poster on the Greenville Online forum asked whether Amanda Reagan Smith was aware of the forum and posters speculation. Another poster, who is close to the families replied:

No I have talked to her about this very thing and she told me she thinks it is funny as hell. As for the attention, she craves any kind of attention as long as it is focused on her and her only.

she has laughed about it since day one. I have not let her know I think anything of it, I try not to talk to her unless I have to. It sickens me to even think of her face and her in general. Let her have her little laugh karma is a and so is she. But she will get what she deserves in the end.

We think she does, there was also a fire a few months before Devin was murdered where his bedroom caught fire.

Oh it sure did Al and if I remember correctly she bragged to everyone how she ran in and saved him but he told people she was sleaping and he had to wake her up. Then a few months later the poor kid is killed.

No, she didn't deserve him. I know LE has to make sure the charges they file against her stick, but I just don't know what they're waiting for. And laughing about it makes her look doubly guilty.

This is part of a list of information/opinions gleaned from those locally who know the families regarding Devon Epps and his mother Amanda Reagan Smith that might help people understand issues preceding this case (these are opinions, some are rumours, and others are allegedly first hand knowledge):

nascarchick926 "ARS was actually a pretty good mom up until about 2 years ago when she really got into the partying life style. Once she started that Devon was nothing but a incovience for her and her lifestyle."

"Devon had ADHD but that was it, if you told him no he knew what that meant. She wouldn't just talk to him like you would your child to get them to stop doing something she would call him all kinds of degrading names and cuss him almost non-stop UNLESS she was around Mr & Mrs. Smith."No Devon didn't argue back with her, he knew better, I guess he done it before and what ever she did to him he was scared. She wouldn't cuss him in front of anyone, if you talked to her on the phone she would be cussing him and yes i have said something to her about it on numerous occasions. She would lighten up just a lil bit, but who knows what he went thru when we got off the phone. She did, everytime she was on the phone she would cuss him and tell to get the f*ck outta her face. That was no way to talk to a child."

"A lot of the thing with Devon, he lived so many different ways. He was made to live one way at home, one at the Smith's, one and the Epps's and any where else he went he had a seperate set. And that gets hard after a while."

"ARS was out and about last night partying it up. Icehouse, you was totally right on everything you said about the way she disiplined Devon, but she wasn't the only one who did it. Her grandparents would whip him with wooden spoons and things of that nature. The Epps family couldn't tell him no, but who could blame them looking into those big ole brown eyes.

Regarding polygraph tests & whether Chad Epps and ARS were married:

" i did hear that she failed both test also so thats why she has lawyered up! lol and i do know from a friend of hers tha her gpa and gma do alos think she did it!" "no they were never married."


"I am new to this site - but have a very close friend that is a family member of Amanda's- she DID NOT take the polygraph test yesterday and she HAS lawyered up!!!! And the majority of her extended family believes she killed Devon"


"she did take the poly, and she failed. They are suppose to give her another one, not sure if they already have, or what the results are."

"as far as her polygraph test this was her 2nd time she failed it."

"I just watched the news and it said that they saw a white lincoln towncar from one of the cameras near where they found Devon and it said that whomever was just driving was not a suspect but may have saw something, and not know what that were seeing. "I personally know Chad was incarcerated at this time, The police know he was in jail. They had to get him out of his cell to tell him his son was murdered. He got out on August 13,2007 around 5:00 pm!!!!!!!!!!"

"THERE WAS A MEMORIAL SERVICE HELD FOR DEVON WHERE SHE KILLED HIM THIS PAST SUNDAY NIGHT,AND SHE NORE ANY OF HER FAMILY SHOWED FOR IT. SHE IS SUPPOSEDLY MOVING BACK INTO HER GRANDPARENTS HOUSE."

I'm sure I haven't seen you if you say you haven't seen Amanda b/c I was there at the memorial she had. Her family may not have even known about the vigil Chad had. From what I hear they didn't. And if they did, they probably didn't come b/c people wouldn't leave them alone & asking questions. don't think the vigil needs to be about anyone but Devon. That is what a vigil is, remembering the person that has passed on. I hope Sunday is not out of control, I'm sure there will be plenty of people there like cops & investigators to make sure that doesn't happen."

I thought 2 days after was a little quick too, but I went to be supportive & so did several other people. I don't know if she was nervous about being attacked again, but I was looking over my shoulder & around me the whole time. Being out there was very eerie. I don't know why it's being held at mcdonalds either. I thought it was going to be held at the site, guess someone needs to clarify."

I think with everyone stating their opinions about what they would do to her, not particularly you, but some posters have said that. That is probably why they will be there.
