Organized serach in Blacksburg Saturday for missing NC woman

An organized search will be held beginning at 7 a.m. Saturday in Blacksburg, departing from the Dollar General parking lot at 310 W. Cherokee St.

She looks much different in her various mugshots. She might have pink hair or permed hair now. She IS out on bond from her last arrest, awaiting sentencing. I'm hoping she just went voluntary missing instead of being in danger, as she has previous charges for "failure to appear".

Search for missing Blacksburg mother turns up nothing

Investigators say they have no reason to believe Cooksey's disappearance is suspicious, but continue to follow leads in hopes of finding the missing mother.

Her family worries something is very wrong and refuse to give up searching for Cooksey.

She got a disorderly conduct in April and was caught for shoplifting last October. She's also gotten an indecent exposure charge.

Just some background info - not sure if any of this has to do with her missing or not.

I see this situation as a two-fold issue.

One: she had a reason to run away and a history of “failure to appear.” Pending charges, changing appearance, no real “roots” or stable residence etc. Hopefully LE/friends/family have checked in with those she was mostly recently acquainted with.

Two: if she truly is missing due to foul play, I feel like LE may be inclined to not believe this is the case (as they have previously stated) and lose precious time.

Regardless of the situation surrounding her disappearance, I am glad she has family and friends who are passionate about finding her. Hope she turns up soon!

Another search party for a missing Upstate woman is scheduled for this weekend, more than one month after she went missing.

Those interested in joining the search this weekend can meet at the Dollar General parking lot at 7 a.m., located at 310 West Cherokee Street.

Appears she was, also arrested for DUI and Indecent Exposure in 2017. If I had to guess, I would say maybe alcohol is an issue?? IMO. Hoping she didn't get into some sort of trouble.

Details of Disappearance
A police officer saw and spoke to Cooksey at the Corner Shop Store on Cherokee Street in Blacksburg, South Carolina on the evening on June 10, 2018. She was seen at several other locations throughout the night.

In the early morning hours of June 11, a male friend picked her up at or near a residence on Highway 29 north near Grover, South Carolina, and drove her to the Gaffney Inn in Gaffney, South Carolina. Her cellular phone pinged in that area and she was active on text messaging until 9:32 a.m., after which either the phone was turned off or the battery died.

Cooksey has never been heard from again. She lived with her mother in Fallston, North Carolina at the time of her disappearance. She left behind two children, and her family stated it's uncharacteristic of her to not be in touch with them. Her case remains unsolved.

JMO/speculating...options could include hitchhiking or getting rides from friends...if she left the original location. IMO, JMO

So if backroads, or any route less traveled by than a main corridor, then hitchhiking could take a loooong time, so maybe my theory on that isn’t so solid. IMO
