BBM
I don't remember anyone mentioning shelters they may have in MB, but I would hope the Salvation Army, Union Mission, Providence and other shelters have been notified and there are posters around their locations, especially with the big change in the weather.

We have the Street Reach shelter here and the Community Kitchen for food. I believe OLG and Miss James put up posters there. My daughter talked with a man on the street(who apparently stays at Street Reach) and he said he knew all about him, so I imagine that the police also check there, too.

When I was in Myrtle Beach this past week-end I checked the outskirts of a homeless camp there, but no sign of JB. I did see a man with no shirt squatting to take care of some business, so I let him have his privacy :what:. The woods around MB are home to many of the people who have no place else to go. The shelters have strict rules and sometimes they don't want to go there unless they absolutely have to because they can't drink etc. It's a real problem here because so many come here thinking it's a better place to be because of the weather. It's so sad.

MissJames I will check that site and do whatever I can, its a great idea!
Your story about "your Johnny" is a real reminder how we feel sorry for ourselves and complain about our situations, when in comparison to some, we have no problems, as another poster mentioned, I think you are an angel, you certainly have a heart of Gold!

Peekerfoo, you too have something inside that is pure gold, I dont think you could stop if you wanted to.

Much love and respect to all the posters here who are so involved with Missing people, wherever they are.

PS the Johnny song, is ours, not mine, if anything ever came of it, anything and everything would go to charities or search groups of our choice (its in writing here now so you can take that to the bank lol) I don't want anything from it personally.
I just wish the family would have picked it up and run with it, it may have helped the cause a bit more.

BBM fabgod you are wonderful too. What a gift you have given to Johnny, and his family! I can't speak for anyone but myself, but I appreciate you a million times for that beautiful song for Johnny. It is obvious it is written from a pure spirit of LOVE, straight from your heart. Hopefully Johnny will be able to hear it soon and be back home. :blowkiss:

I was the one who went to Street Reach, the Community Kitchen and the nearby Rec center and they were all very receptive and kind. They had all "heard something" but really hadn't known much about it but I got the definite feeling they would keep their eyes open and spread the word...I just got the feeling (that was toward the end of August) that he may have been already out of MB proper at that point. MOO...

I agree, he was probably gone by then. I think that is after we stopped hearing about sightings of him. I don't like to think about the reasons no one is seeing him anymore. Not to many options there. And here we are sitting on our hands again...not much we can do to find him at this point. Looks like most of the searchers have forgotten about him...Seems like no one cares he may never be heard from again, but us here at WS...Wish we could hear something...:waitasec:

It is gonna be in the 40 degrees again tonight here in Ga. I'm trying not to turn my heat on, but may have to tonight. I hate to think of Johnny out in the street on a cold night like tonight, maybe hiding under a bush to stay warm...Maybe someone will offer him a coat or warm clothes...So worried about him, and don't understand why he wouldn't have called his family. He has to be missing them...

Just went over to CUE's website and left a comment on Johnny's page, asking them for information. It is chilly in South Carolina tonight, and I also worry about Johnny being outside in this weather. I came home put on my yoga pants, a jacket, and my fuzzy bedroom slippers! :great: I want Johnny to be in a warm place where he can be comfortable too. :please:

I'm so sorry, Nosysw! It's been so long and so many pages, that it's hard to remember everything. I don't know how I could forget when you dedicated your vacation to finding Johnny!:shocked2:

I wonder where Johnny is now????? :dunno:

It sounds like you all have covered all the places available to Johnny.
Thanks for going that extra mile just for Johnny.
From the looks of everything, I guess it's back to sitting on our hands for the time being. Maybe something will come up and we will have a direction in which to work.
I sure hope so.

I think I've done all I can do for tonight. Just finished my dinner (at 11:14pm). Wonder why I can't lose weight. LOL. Nite everyone.:offtobed:

Nighty night, sweet lady!

Good morning everyone. Looks like I have done all I can do at this time for Johnny at this time. I will continue to pray for him and his family. I just don't see anything else I can do. I will continue to pray for Johnny Brown, and read here, and if I see there is any other help I can provide, of course I will do whatever I can...but without MSM reports or something from LE, I just don't see what else I can provide.
I want to say I have been more than blessed and encouraged by working with all of you. You are a caring and compassionate group of people, and I will look forward to posting with you all on other threads. I appreciate and love you all.

I understand, Nonni Brenda. You have done your very best to help Johnny and I'm sure everyone appreciates that.

I'm going to stick to strictly MSM reports from now on, so there probably won't be much to talk about. I thought I asked a legitimate question, but apparently that was seen as an "attack". It certainly wasn't meant to be. I'm a straight-shooter and I don't know any other way to be. I'm trying to learn how to transfer what I'm thinking into a post that won't offend anyone (even if that was never my intention). I plan to leave the particulars in God's hands because, as you said, there isn't much else for us to do.

You have given it your ALL, Nonni Brenda, so try not to worry too much about Johnny and know that prayers help as much as anything.

Sorry, Salem. I thought it was a legitimate question and I emphasized that there was no snark involved in it. Rest assured, it will not happen again.

I guess I'm just confused because of threads like the Lisa Irwin case ,where there is much speculation about the family and the cases where WS members were involved with searches and reported on it ,like the Caylee Anthony case and the Hayleigh Cummings case.

In the beginning of this case the family's own poster with their phone #s was included in a post by a moderator. Mods were asking me questions to ask the family after I called Johnny's sister and offered to help since I live close by and they had to go back to GA.

I love WS and believe it offers a great service .I would never want to do anything to go against WS . I thought I was doing something for a missing man who needs help .

Many cases are handled on an individual basis. Plus, we have learned a few things from past cases and guidelines are subject to change due to issues that have been dealt with in the past.

Let's keep this thread about Johnny and move the general moderation forum questions over here ---->Forum Finesse - Websleuths Crime Sleuthing Community :tyou:

I came by to see if there is still an active search for Johnny. Does anyone know for sure?

I agree with you MissJames. I was only trying to help find someone who is missing. I have seen on other threads where posters were in contact with the families too. I would NEVER do anything to hurt someone intentionally, and especially to hurt WS; I apologize if I have done that or hurt this investigation in any way. I just thought we would have a big advantage in finding Johnny if I could talk with the family, especially since we live in the same city, only a couple of miles from each other. I never meant to cause any problem by talking to the family and if I have, I am truely sorry...

There's nothing that I can find in MSM that mentions any active searches.

If each case is handled differently, then perhaps guidlines for them could be posted at the beginning so there's less confusion between cases? :please:
