When I spoke to the coroner I asked about the scratches and he said something to the effect that it was caused by something in the water (rocks). I posted about 50 posts back with what he said verbatim.

Excellent - thanks Astrid I remember the post but I couldn't remember if it was conclusive. I'll go and hunt it down. :)

Okay, I just spoke with the ME and he's going to check her file and get back to me about the scratches around her neck, though, he suggested it could have been from her bouncing around in the water before they pulled her out.

Here ya go figtree -- I wonder if I should follow up with dude..

It seems strange that she would be dressed at night/2.00am in her bathing suit in a public bathroom. Someone must have noticed her.

Not in Myrtle Beach. Not strange at all.

Thank-you. (I actually did mean excellent :))

Thanks. Is Myrtle Beach 'open 24/7' type of place?

Because you know, all symptoms are standard for every depression sufferer everywhere....

Including your own? Just saying that just because you are able to get up and get yourself together each day, does not mean that others suffering from depression can or do. You are not the spokesperson for depressed or suicidal individuals - only for yourself - just as we all are.

Neither of you is an expert on the subject. (Unless I'm missing a big Ph.D somewhere under your avatar???).

IMHO Arguments either way are completely POINTLESS.

This post brought to you by a lifetime sufferer of depression and anxiety. Which counts for nothing more than anecdotal evidence to base my own opinion.

Whoever posted that people suffering from depression don't care is making just as much of a blanket statement as I did. Like I said, we have seen countless UIDs who were very well put together at time of suicide so it's ignorant to assume that everyone who suffers from depression or suicidal tendencies doesn't give a **** about their outward appearance.

Myrtle Beach police released a composite picture of a tattoo Wednesday, that is on the left ankle of a woman whose body was pulled from the Atlantic Ocean near 24th Avenue South Saturday morning.

I went back to the original article to see exactly when/where she was found. The article is from 5/29. That time of year there is allot of nightlife. A big percentage of the people out that late would be younger and many possibly intoxicated. I don't think they'd pay much attention to a middle aged women. Also no one would think twice seeing someone attired in the clothes she was found in.

She was found only 3 blocks from the Blue Water Resort where Brittanee Drexel was last seen! Not that I think they are in any way related, just a bizarre coincidence.

I wonder if this info has been posted in Canada? There are a lot of Canadian tourists in the area, who are locally referred to as "snowbirds" even when it's not winter.

Agreed about the bathing suit, too--not unusual at all for MB at any time of day, esp in late May.

Bumping for this sweet lady. I was hoping she would be identified by Christmas :bump:

This is an older video (at the link) - but it shows where the UID was found in the ocean.
It also has an interview with the Coroners Office and says that the UID is being held at the hospital in the hope that someone will identify her and come to claim her.

Below is a Screencapture from the news video of the location where the UID was found in the ocean.

I did a fairly extensive search on the Dolphin Tattoo when our lovely UID SC Lady came to our attention.
Tonight I went looking through the tattoo's again - not so much to match her actual tattoo, but trying to find a similar style.

There is though one tattoo which keeps coming up in searches (a Dolphin Tattoo) and grabbing my attention - which I think there are some similarities.
Thickness of the black outline inking
Similar colour inks (brightness and use of colours)
Signature Style of design.
What also struck me was the 'bubbles' of water are very similar, and the splash contours. Not many other tattoos have the same distinctive 'splash' signature.

My thought was that if the same artist had done both tattoos - the UID's possibly about 10 years ago, and the Comparison tattoo was done in 2010, the artist may have improved on the style, but not lost the signature thick inking and styling of that particular scene.
I think both tattoo's were stencils - there is more than one pic of the comparison dolphin tattoo done by different tattoo artists - the style in the comparisons (to me) looks similar.

The Comparison Tattoo belongs to a girl in Norwich UK, and I would assess that the tattoo was done in the UK.
Seeing that the LE are thinking the person may be International, I wondered if the woman was from the UK (even Norwich area) or that the tattoo artist had moved from the UK to the States or States to the UK ...

(Now I know that sounds like a long shot ;) but I did look up and search the Norwich tattooist, and there was one guy from Norwich who now resides in Washington and was going back to the UK for the Norwich Body Art Festival - stranger things have happened;)

Anyway - enough ranting and explanations...
Here is the comparison below:

Nice work!

I noticed that quite similar tattoo too -- and I believe I found multiple instances of it on other people, which made me think it was a commercial pattern. It's certainly *much* better executed than our unidentified woman's tattoo.

One of the things that has puzzled me about her tattoo is why the palm tree leaves aren't inked.

Yes, the Palm Trees look unfinished - and the gaps in colour around the sun arent very good either.
What struck me was the blue colours - very similar, and the thick wobbly lines in the horizon and 'splash'. There's also red colouring surrounding the sun, and the bubbles near the base of the tattoo's.
Talk about paint by numbers.
Very frustrating.

Yes, and the lines and the arcing waves and the leaping dolphin are all very similar.

Lorna Vincent looks like a possibility. I posted to the facebook page asking if they think she might have gone to the US.

Thank so much carbuff!!
I don't post on Facebook - so that's a great idea.
I also thought, how did she leave Britain without a passport? But maybe there were reasons she left, and either had a false/another/replaced someones identity with her, or her Passport wasn't British - sailed off with someone and just never needed one. New life in the States, or possibly just passing through.
Don't know.

Hope someone is still monitoring the FB page.
I don't know if there is DNA for Lorna - so little follow up details available.
Thank goodness she has a Cousin who cares enough to give her a page.

I saw that post -- 4 hours ago they replied saying Lorna didn't have a tat..

...... that they *KNEW* of. Perhaps she left and got one in a defiant rage or something?

I didn't get to log in until just a bit ago -- thanks for the update, Astridxxx. Yes, the cousin says it's not Lorna.

Having so little detail and the Cousin not being able to verify beyond a doubt the tattoo, Im wondering if the tattoo was known about.
Is that FB page a public page, or a private one? I didn't see the message anywhere on FB - I didn't log in though :(

@carbuff - Thanks for the update! Was there anymore to the message? Were there further details about Lorna? I was thinking of starting a page for her.
