YES. This is the one question I haven’t seen tackled by MSM. Why was Maggie Murdaugh at Moselle that night? Was that routine for her to stop by there after she moved to the beach house? Did she still have personal belongings there? Surely she mentioned this planned visit to someone? Who would have known she’d be there that night? Or who wouldn’t have known & been surprised? What family with a 1770 acre estate & multiple outbuildings doesn’t have video security all over the entrance(s) & central grounds? There must be footage of something…

How do we know that Alex quit working in 2019, where did this info come from? I'm so confused about this, how could he have been misusing funds if he wasn't working at the firm?

My 2 cents

All I can come up with is blackmail.

The money he stole was payoff for silence. Somebody has some dirt that would destroy them.

He stopped working 2019, what income did he have? It appears their vehicles were company, no car insurance to pay, appears their property is paid for, no mortgages. PM’s college and dorm was prob their biggest expense if their paying. And any boats.

Idk prob living off a Trust or something.

What is the source for AM having stopped working in 2019? I must have missed this tidbit.

The South Carolina Bar website still has the Hampton office of PMPED listed for AM’s contact information.

Ditto that question. Those comments weren’t linked, so idk where that comes from. What I read is that AM hadn’t done case work for the state since 2019- not the family firm.

AM was “barred from prosecuting cases for the regional solicitor’s office… now been prohibited from contributing legal aid by the 14th Circuit Solicitor’s Office which prosecutes cases across five counties in the Palmetto State. The 53-year-old was an authorized volunteer prosecutor who led his last case for the office in 2019…”

I believe he was still actively practicing law at the family firm- before embezzlement, termination & disbarment. Imo

It might be that some are mixing up his volunteer work with the prosecutor's office with his job at the law firm. Alex continued to practice law until his resignation a couple of weeks ago.

"14th Circuit Solicitor Duffie Stone's Office sent out a formal letter to Murdaugh on Tuesday, Kidd said, but it was more of a formality as Alex had not worked a case for the circuit since 2019."

The suspension comes one day after the 14th Circuit Solicitor’s Office, which Murdaugh’s family ran for nearly a century, disavowed Alex Murdaugh as an authorized volunteer prosecutor. Murdaugh hadn’t prosecuted a case since 2019, but Solicitor Duffie Stone made it official due to the events of this weekend, Stone’s office said.

That's the "voluntary" assistant solicitor's position correct? Clearly he was still working for the law firm because they fired him the Friday before Labor Day. And just because he hadn't prosecuted a case since 2019 that doesn't mean he wasn't working. JMO

I said earlier, how do you fire a volunteer?

Truth, they just wanted to distance themselves from him and Duffy Stone was trying to make a point that he was fair and objective.

With PM’s apartment door being left open and there being “no indications of forced entry,” I wonder if PM received a distressing phone call (whether intentional or a butt dial) (e.g., his mother being attacked) that caused him to drop everything and go to where his parents were staying that evening. That would explain the potential “why’d you have to get involved” comment. The phone records in this case will be extraordinarily telling, I believe.

All MOO.

Paul’s apartment was in Columbia, and Moselle was in Islandton. That’s almost a 2 hour drive. I believe he was home for the summer.

And in light of that recent episode of FITNews's Mandy's podcast (that was linked here) which played audio recordings of an officer investigating the SS case talking to a contemporary of BM who told the investigator, paraphrasing, that Moselle was the party place for the kids to gather at during BM's high school years and then PM's in turn. He mentioned partying and some fights too.

Doubt they'd want all those shenanigans on video. Especially being that the owner of the property was a lawyer.

I would think that Randy Murdaugh or the sister of he and AM would have had children that could be the "Heirs" to South Carolina legal dynasty.

My impression was that Randy was the first-born and dominant son, as carry's the RM IV name, not AM
Daily Mail, had to get that word "dynasty" in there for sensationalism.

Speaking of MM and PM being at Moselle - I often ask my 20 year old son to accompany me if I get the heebie-jeebies; like drive me to my office if the alarm goes off, or turn on lights and meet me outside when I get home close to dark. I call him to talk to me on the phone if I'm headed through a parking garage at night. At this point, I think either could have been the target.

RE: the transfer of properties to his wife -----I wonder if he was being threatened with a lawsuit at that time? Somebody may have said they were going to go after him financially and he wanted to take away some of the targets?

like perhaps the family of SS? The properties were transferred after the death of SS.

If so, was he staying at Moselle or Edisto? If Edisto, maybe they went there together? Or planned to meet? Or was she checking in on her son spontaneously? I wonder what texts/calls were made by either that day. Just think odd they were both there- that day, that hour.

Doubt they'd want all those shenanigans on video. Especially being that the owner of the property was a lawyer.

When you run the show and have lots of "friends" in high places, you tend to think you're invincible, I would imagine. You're untouchable so thinking someone would do something to you at your property is unthinkable. I don't think he was paranoid enough to think anyone would "cross" him or do something that would necessitate needing cameras. (And, like you posit, there might be plenty the family itself didn't want on camera due to legal liability issues.)

I think the "untouchable" attitude might be another reason for possibly not having security cameras. (I have no idea if they do or don't have security cams. But if they don't, I won't be surprised.)

MOO, of course.
