I heard the first part, "For God sakes Paul" then her talking overlaps. I guess all I can suggest is a pair of head phones, turn it all the way up and focus to disregard the woman's voice to hear, "Why'd you have to get involved". He's very, very emotional as he's speaking and concentrating on PM because he was asked if he was breathing.

As far as the...hasn't he thought this all out, why say that?

I believe AM was expecting to see his wife dead but not his son. It's true unbelieving grief he's having, being so close to the horror of two shot gun blasts to his son's upper body. He's looking to see if he's breathing when I'm sure his common sense was telling him he's gone. It's an emotional utterance, AJMO
Yes, it’s utter grief. It’s all so sad.

The NYT has a new report on yahoo but nothing of value. It re reports the info on the murders and the rest of the shiny objects surrounding this case and again talks of the family power. I’m beginning to think the Ms have a contract that says every story has to have a glowing bio on their “status”.

CES did comment that he was upset by those jail and court pictures of him, he wasn't allowed to take a shower. He certainly looks healthier sitting on the porch. The reporter did mention though, CES walking hunched over while showing him the yard and his pets.

He didn't get the Murdaugh courtesy of a day's notice to turn himself in.

Side note: is anyone else having major issues with this site today? It's very slow and the "watched threads" option isn't always available.

I wanna know if Eddie says they were wrestling with the gun, the gun went off and he ran to his vehicle...with the gun, who shot the gun to leave the other 6-9 shell casings behind at the scene?

Did Eddie forget about those or block them out? hummmmm

Less than credible AM could have easily set the alleged shooting* scene by firing the gun himself multiple times before CES got there (remember, in spite of all those shell casings, his Mercedes was not scratched!)

He presented two very different stories to explain this roadside drama: 1) Some unknown attacker tried to kill him while he was changing his (run-flat) tire ... then 2) "assisted suicide" to collect $10M for Buster.

Both scenarios required a "shooter", i.e. the bad guy.

I firmly believe CES was set up.

* We are STILL waiting to see any evidence of AM's alleged gunshot head wound(s).

A BIG YES to problems with the website today. I think the Gabby Petito threads are the cause

This is sort of dishing on PR spin, but AM’s mug shot and his appearance for his bond hearing were impressive in comparison to PM’s last June. They not only had him in an ill-fitting jump suit, but he also had handcuffs that appeared to be chained to his ankles. No starched madras shirt. LOL.

As far as the cowlick/head wound on back of head, Hootnanny might have advised him to use a bit of hair spray or gel just to keep the alleged wound alive in our minds.

OMO.

I'm going to differ with your opinion. And I worked for a life insurance company for most of my long career.
People should have life insurance if they can't handle the expense of a particular untimely death. THAT is the purpose of life insurance. If you are reasonably well off, why would you insure your children? On the long, long shot chance that they might die young, then you can handle the expense, and you will actually have lower expenses going forward. Same thing with a non-income-earning spouse. If you are reasonably well-off, you can afford to self-insure against the risk that they die suddenly, when it might cause you a bit more expense child care, but then you don't need to support the deceased spouse for the many years to come.

For the wealthy, life insurance is most effective as an estate planning tool. So, MM might have had life insurance as a means to pass along the estate to her children, but I'd be surprised if PM did, unless they fell for the 'everyone should have life insurance' argument.

Respectfully, you might be in insurance but let me give you a little fact about funeral homes. They don't bury people without all the funeral expenses being paid up front. And they charge just as much for a young person or child's funeral as they do an adult. So if, God forbid, something happens to my son or his wife, or my grand son and his wife the other is left with funeral costs, bills, college expenses and raising the kids alone. And as far as having insurance on the younger grands and great grands, the 20,000.00 life insurance policies I have on them will barely cover the funeral expenses.

So respectfully, I disagree. Everyone needs life insurance on them. And on the Grands and great grands under 18 its only a few dollars each month, which could spare my son, DIL, grandson, and grand DIL a lot of expense they might not have the money to pay. The adults know we have it on them as they had to sign the application for it and for their kids.

As far as hubby and I go, we have a lot of life insurance on us because I have a business with employees who are family who will lose their jobs if I die. And hubby will have a considerable reduction of income. It was my choice to get substantial life insurance policies on myself as it was his choice to get them on him because neither of us wants the other or our son burdened by final expenses.

Mine is very slow too! I was about to call my internet service provider to complain! Guess it's not just me!

I don't disagree with ANY of your points, other than the 'everyone' comment. I absolutely agree that if people might not be able to pay funeral expenses, then life insurance makes sense. If a bread-winner dies, that can be catastrophic, and they should have life insurance. If the care-giver dies and you can't afford the cost of other care-givers, then that is catastrophic. If an employer dies, that can be catastrophic for employees. Agree on all of that. I never disagreed. Life insurance is a valuable product. It's very important for so many people.

My point was for people that CAN afford the expenses of the loss, which I presume the Murdaughs can, then they don't need insurance on their children. Insurance does not make sense for them. I thought I made that point clear, but I'm not the best communicator!

You are clearly an amazing, wonderful grandparent (and great-grand)! I wish I was related to you!

From Charleston City Paper:

The ‘Murdaugh Murders’: Everything you need to know in 2 minutes

The convoluted stories surrounding the Murdaughs, a prominent South Carolina family, have taken strange twists and turns involving homicide, a fatal boating accident and a botched suicide attempt — all since early June.

If you’ve been keeping up, but think you have missed something, or if you’re totally new to the whole shebang, we have you covered with a timeline compiled from various news sources over the last few months.

Yeah the claims about a decades-long million-$$ oxy habit suddenly kicked … nah.

Maybe he’s still using in tolerable amounts & shielding his real source - EG maybe real source is a young person he wants to protect from arrest? Just speculating IMO

for those of you all doubting the oxy/cold turkey & assisted suicide story … what do you think is the real story? What’s he been pouring all that money into ?? Gambling? Supporting extra-marital affairs?

At least now there’s finally a story coming out…. even if it hardly makes any more sense than before. What is wrong with these people?!!

He'd only have to truly suffer anywhere from 12 to 24 hours before they give Suboxone which will take away all the horrible withdrawal. So you're no longer wanting to gnaw your own arm off. But then comes the hardest part... never going back.

Looks like everybody jammed the boards when Gabby's story broke. That always happens when there's big news on any popular case.

SCMurdaugh Murders Saga: Corruption Runs In The Family

Murdaugh Murders Saga: Corruption Runs In The Family

“Nobody in any of those counties got elected or appointed without the Murdaughs’ approval,” a source close to the family told me last weekend.

And no one got charged – or cleared – without the Murdaughs’ signing off.

Also from the article (FitsNews)

"Much more expansive, potentially explosive investigations are looming, however, including SLED’s probe of the aforementioned double homicide. Also worth watching? SLED’s deep dive into the finances of PMPED – which hastily accused Alex Murdaugh of stealing $10 million from its coffers on September 6 in a move many believe is an attempted misdirection. In fact, this latter investigation is said to be the nexus of a “significant public corruption investigation” involving the family, the firm and their intimates – according to multiple sources familiar with the inquiry."
