The documents — which were filed in April and May of 2019 as the Murdaughs had just emerged into the media spotlight following the fatal boat crash that killed Mallory Beach — also mysteriously did not list Alex Murdaugh’s name as the defendant. It appears that he convinced the court to take his name off of it — a luxury most South Carolina citizens do not have when they admit fault in the wrongful death of another human being.

Im giving SLED the BOD for having uncovered what Eric Bland has and choosing not to say anything just yet. Eric is the only person so far that doesn’t appear to be intimidated by Murdaugh & friends.
Hoping more people get in line behind him, or along side him!
The bad thing about this though----The Mallory Beach lawsuit will have a hard time recovering any assets if all the insurance companies decline compensation---because I think AM will have nothing left in his bank accounts after LE comes for the embezzled funds.
Granted, I haven’t suffered the loss of MB family, but I’d think the fact that they are just confronting him and going after assets is enough to create fear and stress in AM. That would be priceless, IMO, after the mental and emotional turmoil they’ve recklessly inflicted on others. JMO YMMV

The lawsuit did not say what business the insurance policy was for but FITSNews found four businesses under Alex Murdaugh’s name (formally Richard Alexander Murdaugh) — Murdaugh Charters LLC, Redbeard LLC, Medical Consultants of the Lowcountry, and Eclipse Landscape and Design.

Tinsey’s latest move makes it clear that he will be going after Alex and Buster Murdaugh’s assets in case they try to sell them. It further shows Beach’s intent to pursue every avenue of recovery in the boat crash lawsuit.

Two other insurance companies — QBE Specialty and Homeowners of America — have denied Alex Murdaugh coverage in the lawsuit.

Murdaugh Murders: $6 Million Insurance Coverage Denied In Boat Crash Lawsuit, Judge Rules
This article says that the policies were taken out by Richard (Alexander) Murdaugh and covered hunting operations and associated accidents.

"In this new federal lawsuit, the insurance company argues it should not be on the hook because the insurance claim Richard Murdaugh is filing does not fall under his coverage.

Murdaugh’s insurance policy covers hunting operations and associated accidents. The Beach lawsuit argues that the actions taken by the Murdaugh family the night of the crash were not accidents since Murdaugh Jr. and Richard Murdaugh knew or should have known of Paul Murdaugh’s actions.

The coverage also explicitly excludes watercraft from the coverage. Richard Murdaugh, Jr. is also not included in the coverage. As a result, the insurance company is claiming they have no need to defend or indemnify Richard Murdaugh or the Beach family as a result."

Starting to think that MM found out about AM & company stealing money from clients.

I honestly can not even imagine being married to someone that would do that.

My guess is that she didn’t either. We often see spouses being the last ones to get the surprise.

Maybe the timing of the murder of MM was related to the fact that it had come to light that the family’s insurance companies were refusing to pay out a claim on the boat accident, because they had already paid out (what we now know was millions) on the housekeeper claim?
Perhaps only then did MM realize that GS’s sons hadn’t been paid a dime, and discovered the actual amt that was paid out?
That probably disgusted her. And she made waves.?

Really good article here. The Unraveling of the Murdaugh Dynasty: Unsolved Murders, Insurance Fraud and Missing Millions

Unraveling
By the late spring of 2021, Randolph Murdaugh III was sick with cancer and his health was deteriorating, according to people familiar with the family. Buster had been kicked out of law school for plagiarism, according to court records.

Paul, who was out on bond, had continued to have minor run-ins with law enforcement, including a speeding ticket and a boating violation.

After more than two years, the wrongful death suit of Ms. Beach was coming to a head, with a hearing scheduled for June 10. A judge was expected to consider a motion by Mr. Tinsley to compel Alex Murdaugh to turn over his financial statements.

Three days before the hearing, Alex Murdaugh was with his father at the hospital. According to a person close to the family, he came back to Moselle, took a nap and when he awoke, he left to check on his mother, who suffers from dementia. He didn’t see Maggie and Paul before he left, according to the person.

At 10:07 p.m. on June 7, Alex Murdaugh called 911 from Moselle, saying he had just arrived back home. “I need the police and ambulance immediately!” he said, according to a recording of the call. “My wife and child have been shot badly!”

Mr. Murdaugh stayed on the line with a dispatcher, who told him not to touch the bodies. He said it was too late. “I already touched them to see if they were breathing,” he said.

Deputies arrived roughly 20 minutes after the 911 call, followed by state law enforcement officers.

Paul was shot in the chest and head, according to his death certificate. He was shot at close range with a shotgun, according to a person familiar with the investigation.

Maggie was shot multiple times, including in the back, with a different gun, and cases of a type of ammunition known as 300 Blackout were found nearby, according to two people familiar with the situation. The family owned an AR-15 style rifle that can use that type of ammunition but it wasn’t recovered at the scene or turned over for inspection, the people said.

On June 10, less than 72 hours after the murders, family patriarch Randolph Murdaugh III died at age 81. Law enforcement vehicles from nearly every regional agency filled the funeral procession three days later as a sign of respect.

In the double murder case, investigators have released no suspect sketches, held no news conferences, and said, without explanation, that there is no threat to the public.

Mr. Harpootlian said Mr. Murdaugh had nothing whatsoever to do with the murders of his wife and son. “The only violence he’s ever been involved with is this, which was to have himself executed,” he said in court.

Lots of good information in this article.
Interesting that, according to this, Alex took his father to the hospital, came back to Moselle to nap, then went to see his mother, who has dementia.
Also, based on that article, I’m deducing both the shotgun used to kill Paul and the AR-15 used to kill Maggie were the Murdaugh’s and were stored at Moselle. I’ll bet that’s what they were searching for in the water.

Yes. I've thought for a while this was a murder for hire based on the two weapons, and Alex's supposed alibi.

His whole "suicide" escapade demonstrates his ability to stage, and hired gunmen would bring their own weapons.

I am now strongly leaning towards him doing this himself. I wonder if he was swabbed for gunshot residue.

These descriptions sound like they both were trying to get away. This is the first I’ve heard of where she was hit.

It also fits with "execution style," but I'd expect that if the shooter was not Alex.

So I agree.

The comment by neighbor/resident that she was drug back to see the carnage, could be true with her phone being found on a rd outside the residence.

I don’t think it was to see the carnage as much as to get her out of view.

Almost as if he expected to find M and not P with the, “For god’s sake Paul why’d you have to get involved.”

I find it hard to believe that waking from a nap and not seeing/ texting M or P before he left.

Not buying that.

Wow. I had also thought it was a murder for hire based on the 2 weapons and “rock solid” alibi, as well as the fact that Paul was shot in the face and chest at close range with a shotgun (I thought no matter how morally corrupt Alex might be, what parent could do that?). But now I am also wondering if he indeed is the shooter…MOO
