I think it makes sense that PEOPLE hit a nerve. It goes to motive in murder(s). That conviction has got to be the one that Alex and his attorneys fear most. Not the housekeepers death, boat crash, SS or embezzlement. They are planning on blaming everything on "opioids”. First Degree Murder(s) are not easily excused.

I guess what it really shows is that they are preparing a defense in real-time. Part of their defense is that of re-writing MMs history. She is not here to do it herself.
This right here!

My only question is who pulled those triggers. Was someone paid to do it while the requestor "napped" or is the "iron clad" alibi a bunch of orchestrated BS.

MM going to a big divorce attorney and getting a forensic audit stirred up a lot of messy stuff. Best way to get rid of those problems (loss of $/property, exposing fake financials, etc..) is to get rid of MM.

we’ll find out later she had a nut allergy.

OMG, @sds71! I never expected to laugh on this thread but here we are! Oh, gosh! Thank you for this wry humor (and yet, anything seems to be possible with this case—). MOO.

EXACTLY.

Didn't AM's attorney say they were doing their own investigation (separate from LE investigation)?

And didn't his attorney also claim that they had a pretty good suspect in mind and would know within the next week?

Seems, in my opinion, his spokesmen are full of it.

I believe I’ve heard these kinds of stories before… And, as we all know, sometimes a suspect people have in mind is more like a scapegoat. I hope for justice and I think it’s coming although it can never make everything right, of course. Sadly. :( MOO.

You may well be right and this next comment is NOT about your words; it’s about the real possibility that someone did think that way. :( I know people think like that only too often, especially those who think they can get away with anything, but how could anyone with any thinking capacity think killing a spouse would make the questions and problems go away? It still all is going to come out but things are far, far worse as a result of the murders and that’s a massive understatement. While I guess people wouldn’t do the things they do if they thought they would get caught, the vast majority of people still wouldn’t do such things even if they knew they wouldn’t get caught. I’m astounded. MOO.

Ah, excellent point, Clearskies1, about the Edisto surveillance cameras! That would definitely kinda mess up his ironclad alibi!

I can’t help myself: every time I hear the word “ironclad,” I think, “But iron rusts…” MOO.

This is a very strangely worded statement. Why would this “spokesperson” for AM not just say “The allegations put forth are false. AM would like to say his marriage was a good and loving one blah blah blah...”. Instead it sounds like notes from a third party.
Sounds about as credible as those statements about AM’s serious gunshot wound to the head, complete with entry and exit wounds and skull fracture.

I wonder what MM’s texts said. We’d need the whole story, not one-sided versions that may have been cherry picked. They’d need to check the number of texts sent by what remain for a rough estimate. It’s just sad and ridiculous. MOO.

PM
I view the arm/head as one shot, he put his arm up in a defensive posture.

Jmo
He saw the shot coming.

Oh, the horror of that—and I mean it. I’m not at all saying PM was a great person. I’m just horrified at the idea of that moment when you know what’s coming and you know who’s doing it—and if it were someone who was supposed to love you, like, say, a parent? This same kind of thing haunts me on so many cases only much more so with little kids. Everything about this case seems like it goes above and beyond in cruelty—stealing money from a housekeeper’s kids after her untimely and suspicious death? And on and on. MOO.

I hope and bet that emails and texts she sent to friends help her story emerge. Once something has been sent into cyberspace, it’s got its own presence. MOO.

Agreed. I've lived in the deep South and walked under/through massive trees that blocked out all sunlight during the day.

Even if it wasn't dark, no one could have seen the murders take place through those massive, thick stands of trees. Moselle that night - a dark, deserted, sprawling property surrounded by forests on all sides. That's why the kennels were the perfect place to kill them; also far away from any surveillance cameras at the main house. AM knew exactly what he was doing. I do not for a minute believe MM and PM were out there at 9pm at night taking care of dogs. AM somehow lured / forced them there.

In the country, with no light pollution as it’s called from other sources like neon signs, streetlights, and cars, it often is much darker and darker than areas where the sky is lighter due to the artificial light diffusion. The darkness settles faster and deeper than those living in less isolated areas might imagine. The season and coast make a difference, too. Still, car headlights and mercury vapor lights, commonly used in rural areas around here, can illuminate things in their range enough to see things in the field or yard like a coyote or person. I have no idea what help what I just wrote could be! I’m going back to just reading! :) MOO.

@BrookeButlerTV

In response to@people’s
claim that Maggie #Murdaugh had seen a divorce lawyer six weeks before she and Paul were murdered, a spokesperson for Alex Murdaugh gave the following statement to WJCL:

"The most recent allegations by People Magazine regarding the state of Maggie and Alex Murdaugh’s marriage are totally inconsistent with what we have been told by friends and family members. Also, we have reviewed many years of text messages on Alex’s phone, and the conversations between Alex and Maggie portray a very loving relationship.
It is our hope that the media will continue to focus on covering the investigation of the person or people responsible for the murder of Maggie and Paul and not reporting salacious stories with no credible sources connected to the Murdaugh family”
Well that was a very quick response and very contradictory. People Magazine must be thrilled about now and digging even more. Bravo People! AJMO

Sorry you're right, it was a nap...my mistake and apologies.

No need to apologize, Sunshineray! There's so much to keep up with no one can keep everything straight! Course, it doesn't help when some of the case players keep changing their stories and "facts"! LOL

About the 911 call, what is the timestamp for the "For God's Sake, why'd you get involved Paul?" I've listened and I hear something else..."pulse" related. TIA
The original post had this...My ears think Mandy's Podcast has better quality audio.

Great post, HopeForTheBest! Light pollution is a real thing. You explained it very well. Out in the "sticks" it really is MUCH darker than highly populated areas. Unless, of course, you're in the Arctic Circle, the Land of the Midnight Sun! :D

amanda loveday is actually a very certified PR professional. That said, i don't trust a word she nor harpootlian say. They're the queen and king of spin.

IMO...
Agreed, total spin! I remember watching a news clip (before PM was murdered) of Harpootlian, PM’s defense lawyer in the MB boating death, say that at trial PM would be acquitted because he was not driving the boat.

ONLY ON 2: Attorney for Conner Cook provides latest updates on Murdaugh lawsuit

ONLY ON 2: Attorney for Conner Cook provides latest updates on Murdaugh lawsuit | WCBD News 2

McCullough finds the Fleming situation suspicious, especially because Murdaugh also suggested Fleming represent the victims in a prior wrongful death case connected to the Murdaugh family.

McCullough says he’s confident more twists in the investigations are likely.

“I have no idea what landmine will go off, what grenade in the bunker is going to get thrown and what revelation is going to occur,” says McCullough, but he feels one is coming.

I find this whole situation sick trying to pin a death (Mallory) on someone else to save a lawyers son.

Eta reminds me of what happened here, md 1986.

Griffin O’neal and Gian-Carlo Coppola had boating accident, coppola died O’neal tried saying coppola was driving the boat.

MM and PM were liabilities to AM.

Maggie by a potential divorce settlement would have cost him a pretty penny, not to mention a financial audit triggering a million questions.

Paul by the boat crash and impending criminal trial and civil trials (AM being named in the suit) would have been another wipe out of his finances.

If AM could orchestrate his 'attempted shooting' by a friend on the side of the road, and the alleged ripoff of his dearly departed housekeepers children, I don't think it's a stretch to think he is capable of much, much worse. He should be sitting in jail right now not in a cushy rehab.

MOO
