I found this sentence interesting from the article that you posted. In other words, the victims didn't drop by just to check on the property.

"Peeples Ohmer, who has known the family her whole life, said they had recently been living at the hunting preserve."

I was curious about this and how familiar acquaintances/friends/enemies might be with the property.
I was reading some documents from the boat crash and there is reference to AM’s place in Moselle. It sounds like it may have been a place where others regularly hung out in the past. Possibly the same place?

Crime scene address reference:

Excerpt:
The Colleton County Sheriff's Office responded to a call on Monday, June 7, at around 10 p.m. to 4147 Moselle Road, a property that is listed under Alex M. Murdaugh, according to an online telephone directory.

The SC AG's office said it's still investigating the 2019 boat crash that killed 19 yr old Mallory Beach, even though the alleged driver--Paul Murdaugh-- was killed last week. Could the file have info related to Murdaugh's murder investigation?

Top SC prosecutor still investigating 2019 fatal boat crash despite Murdaugh’s death
A lawyer who represented Murdaugh speculated the refusal is because the file could have information “related to the murder investigation.”

I know everyone (myself included) says don’t suspect it has to do with death of MB but then they go and release this official statement.

I’m thinking this is not about the girls family. They wouldn’t need the file to know how they felt about Paul. I think this will be more complicated.

I don’t know, I think we have to consider the source of the statement. It’s a Lawyer’s speculation. I haven’t seen it stated by LE any where.

Has it been made clear if this property on Moselle Rd. was their primary residence, or was this a 2nd home/another property they owned?

ETA: I see @MajorHoople ‘s post now just above mine.
Not really clear where they were primarily living IMO. I was looking at that earlier. Paul’s obituary listed “of Hampton” (which is also the address listed in 2019 charges), Maggie’s obituary was unclear, in Paul’s grandfather’s obituary AM was listed as living in Islandton (which I believe refers to the location of the Moselle hunting lodge).

I agree. Throwing shade IMO, and unfair.

Wonder how long "recently" refers to?

For the sake of truth and justice (and public confidence), I really, really hope there is surveillance footage in this case. JMO.

Something related to the murder investigation, wouldn't necessarily have to be linked directly to the Beach family. After all, SLED is the agency which stated pretty quickly, Paul may have been targeted. If the Lead Investigative Agency (SLED) and an Attorney who is very familiar with all the civil case documents are saying the same thing, maybe we should give it some consideration?

I would think not all the case documents have been released. I noted in the two depo's which were released to the public- the witness Q&A seems to start mid stream on page 26? I don't know a lot about depositions, is that normal?

https://www.islandpacket.com/news/local/article251996453.html

This mentions a June 4th court filing. I guess no date had been set but that was 3 days before murders so the timing is weird IMHO

Found it. “He was killed days after a lengthy, court-ordered mediation session failed to resolve a civil suit stemming from the boat crash.”

This of course doesn’t mean anyone associated with that case is the killer(s)!! ! The timing is a coincidence is all. IMO

Thank you! I knew I had read that somewhere too. Then I also read that the court ordered mediation had failed in 2020. No wonder we are all so confused!

I'm almost positive that those two depos were attached as exhibits to court filings -- attorneys usually only submit the relevant pages to the court when they are citing to depo transcripts. They don't attach the while transcript, which can be lengthy.

Thank you, I guess pages 6-25 were a whole lot of nothing.

If you search PM's name at the link below, there are two interesting cases listed, one is in March this year.

The criminal case is moot but Paul wasn’t a party to the civil suit. It’s on!

Aside from the store who sold to the underaged who is the other involved in the Civil suit?
