And that's why an appeal will be more than likely than not.
I think the whole defense had a smile because this is going to be a mistrial or appeal.

Holy buckets -- not that MM's heartbreak was funny but you have to love she never let AM forget what allegedly happened in 2007.

No doubt AM sure made MM pay for (constantly) bringing it up. o_O

OMG I love you. I thought I was the only person who used the phrase "holy buckets"

The prosecution is countering because they have nothing but a circumstantial case.

Now they want to bring in an affair from 15 years ago? LOL what's next? The pile of dog mess Alex might have stepped in 20 years ago?
Umm.........

* Patrick Frazee got life in prison without the possibility of parole for killing Kelsey Berreth, ALL on circumstantial evidence.

* Tammy Moore received 30 years in prison on circumstantial evidence.

* Scott Peterson received life in prison on circumstantial evidence.

The list goes on......

I thought it interesting that MM told her sister that Paul was not driving the boat.
Just made me realize how AM got this lie out from the beginning.
Such sadness for the aftermath surviving young people on that boat and of course MB family, friends.
MM’s sister is so brave.

The way in which Waters is arguing about the significance of the roadside incident is very revealing. The state is reaching big time here! They have no case! There are some puzzle pieces but not enough to form the full picture. He may have committed these murders but State has not proven it to an acceptable standard. JMO.

What? The defense isn't prepared to keep the roadside circus out of court?

How can they not be ready for that?

Marian also testified that AM always had a gun in the car.
When first responders arrived and asked AM if he had any weapons in the vehicle, he said he didn't think so.

(because if he did....then he wouldn't have had a valid reason for going back to the house to get the rifle.)
I wish I could like this post ^^about 20 more times.

Waters wants to argue about the admissibility of the roadside shooting. Harpootlian said the defense wasn’t anticipating a motions hearing today and isn’t prepared to do that.

I do not understand how the state is going to rest its case tomorrow.

Judge Newman orders the jury to return at 10:30 a.m. tomorrow instead of the usual 9:30 a.m. With the extra hour, the two sides will argue over the admissibility of the September 2021 roadside shooting evidence.

Welp, we've already kind of started the arguments. Waters says the roadside shooting is part of a pattern in which Murdaugh, confronted with a crisis, created a violent incident to victimize himself.

Harpootlian says that's bogus. “He didn’t do it to get some sort of sympathy. He did it to be dead. That’s why he did it.”

Harpootlian says the September 2021 roadside shooting is irrelevant to the June 7, 2021, murders.

Waters says Curtis Eddie Smith is on the witness list but "I didn't say we would be calling him." Harpootlian laughs about the idea of Smith testifying. “The cross-examination of Mr. Smith is something I’m looking forward to," he says.

That is all for today. Writing now.
