I wish I could like this 10 x's!!Two things, he tossed the phone and didn't learn and tossed the knife.
He disposed of the murder weapons and admitted the gun used in the drive by was stored at his parents home and all now have mysteriously disappeared.
Creature of habit?
Yes! He was going to blame Eddie all along.I think he intended to take Eddie out by reason of ‘self defense’. He could then point to Eddie as the killer and the charges against AM would be dropped.
Who knows what he told Eddie to get him out there with the gun but I don’t think Eddie thought AM was going to take him down, or otherwise he wouldn’t have met him out there. After he arrived he may have figured it out though.
AM didn’t care if Eddie was dead or ended up in jail.
You are right. Why (or how) did he forget he just went to visit his parents Sun. evening and brought his Dad Krispy Kremes? In all the times he mentioned the weekend he never once mentioned it that I heard.
Also, when he talks about what happened that day (that he can recall) he never mentions he learned his Dad was terminal, he talks about motions for the boat case, doing this or that at home before going to the office (of which he really can't recall), but learning your Dad was terminal seems like it would stand out a bit and be memorable.

Brothers of prominent South Carolina family speak out after 2 relatives found dead
John Marvin Murdaugh and Randolph "Randy" Murdaugh IV said they "knew something was wrong" when their other brother called them both late in the night on June 7.abcnews.go.com
Yet, it was perfectly synchronized when Maggie's sister was finished she walked straight to Buster, he stood up and they grasped a hug. It was awesome!! Don't think any Murdaughs were expecting it...I think Randy is there because the defense team coached the family to make a show of support every day. If he was simply trying to know what was happening, he could watch the trial from the comfort of his home on his own time. The family is there for one reason, and that is to send a message to the jury that they support Alex. That's why they sat right behind him, that's why they make a conspicuous entrance every day. The Murdaughs rule Hampton County, and they do it by reinforcing their power at every chance.
I have to admit I can not fully understand why he killed her.... maybe others could enlighten me.I'm still struggling with why Alex killed both of them. Paul is more understandable (if there is such logic). His death had the potential to diffuse the Beach civil case and increase odds of a lower settlement.
But why Maggie? Was he afraid she would divorce him and further dilute his assets not taken in restitution or civil judgement?
Maybe Maggie's death was as simple as eliminating the witness. The shooter lured Paul and Maggie to the Moselle property on June 7, 2021. He'd thought about killing them for along time, according to Alex.I'm still struggling with why Alex killed both of them. Paul is more understandable (if there is such logic). I cannot either, but the prosecutors in closing will need to suggest a clear motive so that 12 jurors agree. A clear motive is not necessary for a guilty verdict, but in this circumstantial case, I think it is imperative. Not sure what they will offer, but most likely that AM suddenly snapped that night at the kennels, as he reflected back on those three key events back at the office (finding out his dad was terminal, MT closing in on his financial records, and confrontation by AS). Soon after messing with the dogs, either PM or MM or perhaps both of them say the wrong thing at the wrong time, he snaps for good this time, grabs guns from the side-by-side or golf cart, or who knows where, shoots them, then, suddenly realizing what he's done, thinks on his feet (which he's known for being really good at), and starts creating his alibi as he cleans up, ditches MM's phone, tosses guns temporarily out in the woods, etc. That's as close as I've come, but I realize there's so many holes in that, too, mainly the part about not enough time to hose down, change clothes, dispose of guns, etc. without leaving hardly a trace of water, blood in the suburban or on his clothes. And being so calm in front of Shelley at his mom's house. Anway, rambling on.I have to admit I can not fully understand why he killed her.... maybe others could enlighten me.
Was one of the dogs named Maggie? Who named the dog?
I believe Maggie was Randolph's dog, the same vain Randolph who insisted on being called "Handsome." Stands to reason he might have named his dog after his son's wife.Maybe Maggie's death was as simple as eliminating the witness. Paul caused Alex a lot of financial grief, and the best way for Alex to minimize present and future grief while ensuring that Paul doesn't suffer time in prison is bloody altercation. Perhaps he couldn't kill Paul and let Maggie know what he did, because she would know it was him, so Alex eliminated Maggies as a witness. Family annihilator?
I couldn't believe what I heard when the names of the dogs were announced. Was one of the dogs named Maggie? Who named the dog?

Not taking up for the man, but locals have reported that RM got his nickname when he was asked what he wanted his grandkids to call him he replied “ Well, no one’s ever called me handsome.”I believe Maggie was Randolph's dog, the same vain Randolph who insisted on being called "Handsome." Stands to reason he might have named his dog after his son's wife.
