If AM takes that stand, I think it will be a huge mistake. I think it will seal his fate and remove any reasonable doubt. There is just no way he can charm or lie his way out of this. No amount of tears. I have faith that the jury is going to see right through him, given all they've already heard.

Who on the defense team thinks this a good idea? Is AM going to appeal based on his crappy defense? Is that the long range plan with these inept "experts" and the defense witnesses who end up favoring the prosecution?

Also of note, of course I would love to see AM testify. I don't think he interprets "under oath" like us plebs may, though.

How many ex friends ftom his former work-place will be glued to the internet tomorrow?
They know he is a liar, thief and a liar!

Not being disrespectful but I doubt that MM was going to be the one cooking the dinner for the crowd. JMO
No disrespect, but Maggie was used to Blanca cooking for the family. OTOH, if Maggie was planning a family get together, she may have wanted to cook some favorites(as I do, but she may have also been that person, like my Ex Mother in Law, would Order Holiday Dinner, and then claim she made it herself. No one cared, as food was good, SO WHY ?! wack·a·doo

I don't see Judge Newman limiting AM's cross because his financial crimes trial pending and also his wrongful death suit by the Beach family pending.

It's all or nothing so AM better check his ego at the door and keep his bum in his chair at the defense table. JMO

WOW! I just heard AM made the call that MM and PM were dead, without even getting out of the car/seeing them?. Timing extremely off point!
He Googled search for a Restaurant?! WTF!
Some are saying not to underestimate the Likability of the Lawyers, Witnesses to decide Verdict. DH is extremely Unlikable in So Many Ways, especially obviously downgrading women overall, But I hope the Jury will Focus on Evidence over Feelings.
I Hope Prosecutors will put as much effort into the Satterfield case as well. The sons of Ms Satterfield did Finally receive monies from Mom's supposed accidental death, But If Investigation proves she was Murdered, those phone calls to 911 had Maggie and Paul's Voices.
The Murdaugh family is very good at Deflecting from one Case to Another! SO MANY TO DEAL WITH! INSANITY!

I’ve been wrong a few times about the case and this may be a “here we go again” but tho I think AM has the foolish confidence to testify, I don’t think it happens.

Summary of trial so far:

Prosecution
…LOTS of evidence pointing to AM as killer

Defense
…vintage county coroners using Victorian Era methods
…party girl vibe PIO flirting with attorneys on cross
…uncredentialed experts testifying about strange scenarios for a paycheck
…credentialed experts testifying that things could have been done better, but it doesn’t really make any difference, for a paycheck
…family and friends lying
…co-workers frying AM’s a$$ gleefully and enjoying it

omg…shorter steps-maybe from someone like, oh, I don’t know, about 5’2”?
Curious how accurate phone steps are recorded depending on walking speed. This is going back a few years, but I bought a FitBit and it was completely inaccurate if I was outside meandering around the garden. If I walked the same path quickly the steps were accurate. Moving slowly it was 75% off Inc my movements in the house unless I was on a mission.

anyone know how her phone recorded steps? Did she have a fitness app enabled? Or does the phone count steps whether you ask it to or not?

Doesn’t really matter but here is a recap

Griffin asks how frequently Murdaugh would check on his mom and dad over the past 10 years. Mixon says she works at least four days a week and would see him just about every day.

She spoke to Maggie just hours before the murders. Mixon said Maggie planned to make dinner for Murdaugh’s parents and Mixon’s family. Maggie had to hang up because one of the boys called her and said she would call Mixon back. Maggie never called back.
That is interesting And we need the sleuths better than me here…… but didn’t I read somewhere in earlier threads that another witness said the defendant did not often visit? And that was to his mother that wasn’t often visited? Or have I got this all jumbled? If that is so, then it seems to be a discrepancy on how often the visits occurred? MO.

I throw my cellphone on my bed from the hallway while I'm going passed my bedroom to go to the bathroom to brush my teeth at night. It never comes on. I know it's not a moving car but the distance is probably 10 feet. Never seen it come on and I've been doing it for years.
I think one has to enable the “raise to wake” setting.

When I listened to that birthday video and then see the kennel one there is no doubt to me. It must be the vocal range or whatever but the voices are spot on.

IIRC, SS, the night time caregiver of his mother, said it was unusual for AM to visit at night. Not sure about other testimony, I will have to wait with you for the better sleuths to answer.

Was once in a crowd where all of the talk at every party was who had the best caterer. LOl. And everyone competed. A much more celebrated crowd but absolutely hysterical because everyone felt they had skin in the game.

In defending SLED investigators, my favorite response from witness Ken Zercie during cross:

Prosecutor: Do you make mistakes, Mr. Zercie?

Zercie: My pencil has an eraser.

Lets say it like it is: They had LE and LEO walking on eggs shells at the murder seen. and the house. We all know the Murdaughs demanded respect and action on the part of others.

That night AM exploited others. We knew it as it was happening. They expected preferential treatment and for the most part they got it. Even Griffin was there that night.

Then these very same people, including Griffin, who want to crucify them for giving them preferential treatment. Ugh....

It reminds me of that movie quote from Ever After. The principle is the same.

"If you suffer your people to be ill-educated, and their manners to be corrupted from their infancy, and then punish them for those crimes to which their first education disposed them, what else is to be concluded from this sire, but that you first make thieves and then punish them."

Yes, two witnesses testified about Alex visiting his parents. One said it was very rare, the other said almost never. One of those women testified that Alex encouraged her to say something other than truth.
